Former UNC basketball guard [autotag]Anthony Harris[/autotag] has found his new home.

After a few seasons with North Carolina, Harris opted to transfer out of the program and continue his career elsewhere. On Monday night, Harris made it official that he is transferring to Rhode Island.

The former Top 100 recruit joins a Rhode Island backcourt where he could earn some valuable minutes early on. He was recruited by assistant Kenny Johnson and is the first commitment in the Archie Miller era which began in March for the program.

Harris played 35 games in three seasons at North Carolina and has suffered two ACL tears in his career dating back to high school.

This past season, Harris saw action early but did not play a single game since January 8th due to reasons unknown.  Harris was also considering UCF in his recruitment, making a visit there as well.

The Eagles are in Week 4 of their nine-week offseason workout routine for all 32 teams with the training programs broken down into three phases, no mandatory minicamp for the vets and an already completed rookie camp held after the draft.

There have been some new additions to the roster since the 2022 NFL draft, and we’re taking an early look at Philadelphia’s 90-man offseason roster by jersey number:

Anthony Harris takes another visit while in transfer portal

Former UNC basketball guard Anthony Harris took another visit this week, spending time at UCF.

Former UNC basketball guard [autotag]Anthony Harris[/autotag] is still searching for his new home in the transfer portal and he has taken another official visit.

After Harris went to Rhode Island last week to check out the program, he was in Florida and visited the University of Central Florida and head coach Johnny Dawkins. This is the second visit for Harris as he entered the portal shortly after UNC’s season ended in April.

Harris spent a few seasons at UNC and battled injuries which limited his time on the court. In those three seasons, Harris averaged 2.6 points per game and shot 48.1 percent from the field.

The Knights are coming off an 18-12 overall season while going 9-9 in conference play under Johnny Dawkins. They could use some depth at the guard position and for Harris, it might be an opportunity to come in and earn some playing time early on.

Former UNC guard Anthony Harris takes visit

Former UNC basketball guard Anthony Harris took a visit to Rhode Island as he seeks a new home in the transfer portal.

For the second-straight year, there will be some roster changes for the UNC basketball program in terms of the transfer portal. Following UNC’s run to the national championship game, the Tar Heels received good news with the return of four of their starting lineup.

They also received some bad news in terms of the transfer portal.

Dawson Garcia and [autotag]Anthony Harris[/autotag] were the first two players to enter the transfer portal and were followed later on by Kerwin Walton. While Garcia has found a home, it appears as if Harris is getting closer to making a decision.

The guard took to social media to reveal he visited Rhode Island:

Harris spent a few seasons at UNC and battled injuries which limited his time on the court. In those three seasons, Harris averaged 2.6 points per game and shot 48.1 percent from the field.

He missed most of this past season after head coach Hubert Davis revealed he was unavailable to play back in January. Davis did not reveal the reasoning behind the decision.

Eagles’ 53-man roster projections following the 2022 NFL draft

Way-too-early Philadelphia Eagles’ 53-man roster projections following 2022 NFL draft

The Eagles are roaring towards the start of the 2022 training camp after an NFL draft class that landed several A grades from experts and analysts.

Philadelphia is starting Week 3 of the offseason workout program and the team just finished a two-day minicamp that saw 12 undrafted free agents, 5 draft picks, and 19 players who were selected to try out.

The Eagles will have two more OTA periods before breaking for the summer and with late July fast approaching, let’s take a look at the first 53-man roster projections following the NFL draft.

UNC basketball season in review: Anthony Harris

We break down the 2021-22 season for UNC basketball guard Anthony Harris as the Tar Heels made a Final Four run.

Going into the basketball offseason, Tar Heels Wire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the Tar Heels’ roster.

Over the offseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and how they performed for head coach Hubert Davis and the team. First up is Anthony Harris.

[autotag]Anthony Harris[/autotag] committed to North Carolina back in April of 2019 after backing out of signing with Virginia Tech. The four-star guard was a Top 100 player nationally and gave UNC some depth at the guard spot. However, he battled injuries that limited his time on the court. This year, Harris started the season off healthy but was ruled out for the year for an undisclosed reason.

Year in Review

Harris entered this season healthy after battling multiple injuries in his career that forced him to miss games. He was supposed to be the primary backup guard to R.J. Davis and Caleb Love, spelling them off the bench and providing a solid option for the Tar Heels.

And while things got off to a good start, Harris would only play in 14 total games while averaging 11.7 minutes.

Back in January of 2022, the team announced that Harris was unavailable for the rest of the season but could practice and travel with the team. Head coach Hubert Davis had nothing but positive things to say about Harris and did not reveal the reason why he was no longer able to play.

Harris entered his name into the transfer portal shortly after the 2021-22 season ended.

Breaking down Eagles depth at safety position after missing out on Tyrann Mathieu

Breaking down the Philadelphia Eagles’ depth at the safety position after missing out on Tyrann Mathieu

The Eagles seemingly lost out or were priced out on another big named free agent, as Tyrann Mathieu is expected to sign with his hometown New Orleans Saints.

After bypassing safeties in the draft, GM Howie Roseman is prepared to enter minicamps and training camps with five safeties on the roster, and just one player who has been a full-time starter in the NFL.

With Mathieu likely headed to the Saints, let’s break down the depth at the safety position for Philadelphia.

Kyle Hamilton a player to watch for the Eagles if he starts to slip in the NFL draft

Kyle Hamilton could be a player to watch for the Philadelphia Eagles if he starts to slip in the NFL draft

Kyle Hamilton is the NFL draft’s most intriguing prospect and depending on who you ask, he’s either the next great safety in the league or one of the biggest risks due to his slow 40-yard dash time.

Philadelphia badly needs to upgrade the safety position and according to ESPN, Hamilton is a player to watch in regards to a potential draft slide.

During a back and forth between Jordan Reid and Mike Miller, a discussion on Hamilton’s stock and how far he might slide ensued.

Miller believes the Eagles are the floor and Hamilton is definitely a player to watch.

Hamilton is harder to peg because the Notre Dame safety’s positional value and a slower-than-expected 40-yard dash time seem to have cooled his stock. I see the No. 15 and the Eagles as his floor. He’s a top-five prospect on my board because of his toughness, physicality, and playmaking skills, but not every team will value a safety that high.

Kayvon Thibodeaux and Derek Stingley Jr. are also players to watch for Philadelphia if a draft slide ensues.

Hamilton is one of the top overall players on the board this year and he would immediately fill more than a couple of needs for the Eagles.

Hamilton is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound hybrid/safety that could elevate the Philadelphia secondary while solving several of Jonathan Gannon’s issues from 2021.

Whether it be making plays in the deep center field, eliminating a tight end, or making a stop against the run in the box, Hamilton can do it all and at an elite level.

UNC guard Anthony Harris enters transfer portal

UNC basketball redshirt-sophomore guard Anthony Harris will enter the transfer portal after three seasons at North Carolina.

The second player of the offseason has entered the transfer portal from the UNC basketball roster. First was forward Dawson Garcia and on Wednesday afternoon it was announced that guard [autotag]Anthony Harris[/autotag] would join him.

Harris did not see action for most of the second half of the season for ‘undisclosed reasons’, not playing since early January.

In 14 games during the 2021-22 season, Harris averaged 2.6 points in 11.8 minutes per game. In three seasons at North Carolina, Harris played in just 35 games and averaged 3.5 points in 11.4 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-4 redshirt-sophomore guard was limited in game action due to injuries that derailed the early part of his UNC career. He tore his left ACL in December 2018 during his senior season in high school. After missing the first month of the regular season of his freshman year at North Carolina, he tore the ACL in his right knee, which kept him out until January 2021.

Harris showed promise coming out of high school and early in his UNC career as he scored in double-figures in two of his first eight games. He failed to reach double-digit points in the remaining 27 appearances in Chapel Hill.

Harris was originally committed to Virginia Tech out of high school but eventually re-opened his commitment and ultimately choosing North Carolina.

The Virginia native had the reputation of an energy player off of the bench who was a feisty defensive option on the wing. He was a former four-star recruit.
