2020 NFL Draft: Clint Lamb’s mock draft 3.0, picks 1-16

Alabama is expected to see several of its former players hear their names called during the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

7. Carolina Panthers – Derrick Brown, IDL, Auburn

Previous pick: Isaiah Simmons LB/S, Clemson

Analysis: Derrick Brown going to the Panthers at No. 7 overall was in my original mock draft, but the opportunity to land Simmons was too good to pass up. With the Clemson defender in New York however, Carolina turns its attention back to Brown.

That isn’t a bad consolation prize either, as Brown is the most disruptive interior defensive lineman in the entire draft.

Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe are off to join the Dallas Cowboys while Vernon Butler is reuniting with Sean McDermott in Buffalo. That means a replacement next to Kawann Short is much-needed.
