Class: Junior
Height: 5-10
Weight: 200 pounds
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Tykee Smith transferred to the University of Georgia from West Virginia this offseason. Smith is considered one of the top safeties in the country. He is reunited with Georgia defensive backs coach Jahmile Addae, his former position coach at West Virginia.
Smith will be counted on to start at safety or nickel for the Bulldogs in 2021 alongside Christopher Smith and Lewis Cine.
Tykee Smith had the difficult task of guarding explosive passing attack in the Big 12 last season, but he helped the Mountaineers have the top passing defense in the country.
Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers committed to the University of Georgia on Aug. 10, 2021. He is talented, but will likely spend much of his year developing in Georgia’s elite tight end room.
Bowers is rated a four-star recruit by the top recruiting sites. He is ranked the No. 105 player and the third-best tight end in the 2021 class.
The former Napa High School star put up incredible numbers as a junior in high school. Bowers is versatile and has a basketball background.
He received over 20 offers from Division I schools, but decided to join Georgia. Bowers has a good combination of size and speed and has the talent to excel at the college level.
The Los Angeles Chargers drafted Georgia tight end Tre’ McKitty this offseason and wide receiver George Pickens injured his ACL in spring practice, but Georgia still looks solid at tight end with Darnell Washington, John FitzPatrick and LSU transfer Arik Gilbert.
Bowers comes from a very athletic family. His father played football for Utah State and his sister plays softball for Sacramento State.
Georgia Bulldogs outside linebacker Adam Anderson is expected to have a large role for the Bulldogs this season.
Adam Anderson, Outside Linebacker (No. 19):
Class: Senior
Height: 6-5
Weight: 230 pounds
Hometown: Rome, Georgia
High School: Rome High School
Georgia Bulldogs outside linebacker Adam Anderson is expected to be a key player for the Bulldogs this season. He is projected to be Georgia’s top pass rushing threat and has been very effective in the limited snaps throughout his career. Anderson and Nolan Smith will be Georgia’s top two edge rushers when the Dawgs open the season against Clemson.
Anderson came to the University of Georgia as a highly coveted five-star recruit out of Rome High School. Now, he’s a veteran with 38 games of college football experience.
Anderson is very durable and has played in every game during his career in Athens. He has 9.0 sacks and 36 total tackles.
Anderson has excellent speed, but he is still looking to add muscle to his lengthy frame. He racked up 24 total pressures last season and has the potential to be a breakout edge rusher for Dan Lanning and Kirby Smart in 2021. Following the departure of Jermaine Johnson and Azeez Ojulari, Anderson is set to have a larger role this year.
Anderson finished fourth in the SEC with 6.5 sacks in 2020. He is poised to continue that success in 2021. Anderson is considered one of the top outside linebacker prospects for the 2022 NFL draft.

Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Trezmen Marshall played in only three of Georgia’s 10 games in 2020 and underwent shoulder surgery
Trezmen Marshall, Linebacker (No. 15):
Class: Redshirt Sophomore
Height: 6-1
Weight: 230 pounds
Hometown: Homerville, Georgia
High School: Clinch County High School
Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Trezmen Marshall played in three of Georgia’s 10 games in 2020 and picked up a redshirt. Marshall primarily has a special teams role for the Bulldogs.
Marshall dealt with a shoulder injury (torn labrum) after 2020 season opener against Arkansas. Marshall played when he could, but knew he would require surgery, which he had before the South Carolina game last season.
He did not record a tackle during the 2020 season. In 2019, Marshall recorded five tackles including a key tackle on the kickoff against Texas A&M.
Marshall came to Athens as a four-star recruit who was widely considered a top-100 prospect. He enrolled early at the University of Georgia and participated in 2019 spring practice.
In 2021, Marshall will look to earn playing time as a linebacker in Georgia’s defensive rotation. He will face stout competition, but he has the talent to make a difference.
Before coming to the UGA, Marshall dominated public school Class-A football en route to winning three state titles in four seasons. He played inside linebacker, quarterback/running back, defensive end and fullback.
As you can imagine, Marshall has some dominant high school tape.
Marshall was the best player on the field on every play in high school. Now, he’s fighting for playing time along Georgia’s elite defense. Dan Lanning plays a lot of guys, so don’t be surprised if Marshall works his way into the lineup next season.
Georgia Bulldogs redshirt freshman quarterback Carson Beck got the majority of the reps for the Black team in the spring game
Carson Beck, Quarterback (No. 15):
Class: Redshirt Freshman
Height: 6-4
Weight: 215 pounds
Hometown: Jacksonville, Florida
High School: Mandarin High School
Georgia Bulldogs redshirt freshman quarterback Carson Beck got the majority of the reps for the Black team in the spring game. Beck gained valuable experience and played pretty well, finishing the contest with 236 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He went 22 of 31 on his passing attempts.
Beck picked up a redshirt as a freshman. He played late against the Missouri Tigers in 2020, but did not have a chance to throw a pass. Look for him to see more action in 2021.
Beck enrolled early at the University of Georgia. He was a four-star recruit in the class of 2020. Additionally, before coming to Athens, Beck competed at the prestigious 2019 Elite 11 camp.
Will Beck begin the season as Georgia’s No. 2 quarterback? He will face some talented opposition. Georgia’s quarterback position has impressive depth this season with Brock Vandagriff, Carson Beck and Stetson Bennett ready to step in if J.T. Daniels suffers an injury.
Georgia Bulldogs redshirt freshman quarterback Jackson Muschamp originally committed to Colorado State, but decided to commit to the University of Georgia as a preferred walk-on.
He did not play as a freshman and took a redshirt in 2020.
Jackson Muschamp is the son of Georgia defensive analyst and former South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp. Jackson is a big part of the reason why Will Muschamp decided to come to Athens following his dismissal at South Carolina.
Jackson Muschamp is following in the footsteps of his dad, who walked on to the team in Athens. Will Muschamp played at Georgia from 1991-1994. Much like Kirby Smart, Will Muschamp played safety for UGA. The two coach barely missed playing in Athens together as Kirby Smart played with Georgia from 1995-1998.
Georgia’s quarterback room has a lot of depth this season and beyond. JT Daniels is projected to start at quarterback for the Dawgs. Carson Beck, Stetson Bennett, and Brock Vandagriff are considered the top competitors at back-up quarterback.

David Daniel, Defensive Back (No. 14):
Class: Freshman
Height: 6-2
Weight: 185 pounds
Hometown: Woodstock, Georgia
High School: Woodstock High School
Georgia Bulldogs defensive back David Daniel was one of Kirby Smart’s first commitments in the class of 2021. Daniel enrolled early at the University of Georgia and competed throughout spring drills and the spring game.
Daniel is the first player from Woodstock High School to sign with Georgia in a long time. He came to Athens as a four-star athlete. Daniel played both wide receiver and cornerback during his time at Woodstock.
Georgia started cornerbacks Ameer Speed and Jalen Kimber in the spring game, but the secondary will look much different to open the season.
Kirby Smart brought in additional talent at defensive back, including Clemson transfer Derion Kendrick, Alabama transfer Brandon Turnage and West Virgnia transfer Tykee Smith. Former five-star recruit Kelee Ringo, who missed last season with a shoulder injury, will compete for playing time at cornerback as well.
At safety, Christopher Smith and Lewis Cine are projected to retain their starting roles. Georgia lost a bunch of talent in the secondary to the 2021 NFL draft.
Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Lovasea Carroll changed positions during his first year on campus with Georgia
Lovasea Carroll, Defensive Back (No. 12):
Class: Freshman
Height: 6-1
Weight: 195 pounds
Hometown: Warrenton, Georgia
High School: IMG Academy
Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Lovasea Carroll changed positions during his first year on campus with Georgia. Carroll enrolled early at Georgia after being a highly touted four-star running back recruit out of high school powerhouse IMG Academy.
Carroll will have a good mentor to help him with the difficulties he will face with his position change. Incoming Clemson transfer Derion Kendrick is a former five-star recruit that began his college football career at wide receiver. Kendrick seamlessly transitioned to cornerback as a sophomore at Clemson and is a top prospect for the 2022 NFL draft.

Georgia is no longer as desperate at the defensive back position. The Bulldogs could play Carroll at running back in the future. It will be a storyline to watch over Carroll’s career
The Warrenton, Georgia, product played Warren County High School before attending IMG Academy.
