NFL Combine measurement results for every Georgia football.

This week, a number of former Georgia players are in Indianapolis for the 2020 NFL Combine, where they will be partaking in measurements, on-field workouts, team interviews and medical examinations.

So far, every player minus J.R. Reed has gone through the measurement portion of the week, and we have all results listed for you below.

Jake Fromm

Georgia’s Jake Fromm has received his 2020 NFL Combine measurements. Fromm’s hand size, which is under nine inches, is somewhat concerning. Nine inches is considered the minimum hand size for an NFL quarterback.

Here’s how both Jake Fromm and Washington Huskies QB Jacob Eason measured at the combine:

Ultimately, hand size doesn’t have much correlation with cold weather performance and fumbles, so it shouldn’t drop Fromm too far. That being said, Fromm doesn’t have the measurables of the other elite quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

LSU’s Joe Burrow did have nine inch hands as well. He’ll still be the first pick of the NFL Draft. One-eighth of an inch shouldn’t make too much of a difference for UGA’s Jake Fromm.

NFL Combine measurements: Georgia football OG Solomon Kindley

On Tuesday, Georgia football offensive guard Solomon Kindley began his week at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, where he underwent measurements, medical exams and partook in interviews.

Kindley is viewed as mid-round draft pick, likely somewhere in the third or fourth round.

In Indy, he measured in at 6-foot-3 and 1/4 inches tall and weighed in at 337 pounds.

Since 2017, Kindley started 10 games at right guard and 26 at left guard.

Kindley left Georgia with one year of eligibility remaining.

NFL.com compares Kindley to former Oakland Raider guard Denver Kirkland. Georgia Bulldog fans may recognize Kirkland from his days with the Arkansas Razorbacks in the SEC:

Who is Denver Kirkland?

Denver Kirkland was undrafted during the 2016 NFL Draft. He played several games for the Oakland Raiders during his rookie season, but ended up on IR during his second season. Following his injury, he spent time between Oakland and Arizona’s practice squads.

Georgia Bulldogs fans should expect for Kindley to find more success at the NFL level than Kirkland. For one thing, Kindley is projected to go much higher than Kirkland, who went undrafted.

Kirkland is 6-4 and weighs 340 pounds, which matches the size of Kindley.

Here’s the 2020 NFL Combine schedule for the Georgia football players invited.

Georgia had 10 players invited to participate in the 2020 NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The combine will take place from February 23rd to March 2nd, with on-field workouts beginning on the 27th.

The 10 Georgia players that received an invite are as follows:

For the players that did not receive an invite, and for those who did but want to better their scores, Georgia will host its annual pro-day, where coaches from all 32 NFL teams should be present.

As for the 10 players who will be in Indianapolis next week, they’ll be busy with everything from orientation, to interviews, medical exams, psychological testing, media sessions and an NFLPA meeting.

And then finally they’ll hit the field for their workouts.

They’ll be broken up into groups. Here’s a list of those groups and the Georgia players who will be in them.

Multiple former Georgia players go to Falcons rivals in latest NFL mock draft

Three former Georgia football players, including Jake Fromm and Jacob Eason, go to Atlanta Falcons’ rivals.

The NFL Draft is coming up in just a few months and multiple former Bulldogs are expecting to hear their names called in Las Vegas.

In the latest four-round 2020 NFL mock draft done by USA TODAY’s DraftWire, multiple former Georgia players go in round one and three guys head to the NFC South.

However, none are projected to go the Falcons, a franchise that has routinely passed up on drafting players from the in-state university over the years.

Round 1:

The first two picks of the draft see Joe Burrow headed to Cincinnati and Chase Young to Washington.

Pick No. 4: Andrew Thomas to the Giants

At No. 4 the first Dawg, offensive tackle Andrew Thomas, gets taken by the New York Giants.

On Thomas, DraftWire wrote:

If the Giants want Daniel Jones to become a true franchise quarterback, they’re going to have to protect him. General manager Dave Gettleman is as old-school as they come, so don’t be surprised when he spends this pick in the trenches. Moving back would be ideal given this year’s depth at both tackle and along the interior, but if they’re stuck here, Thomas is a strong pick.

At No. 5, the Miami Dolphins take Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Kindley to Tennessee…

Pick No. 29: Solomon Kindley to the Titans

In the first round, at pick No. 29, Georgia has its second player selected in the draft. Offensive guard Solomon Kindley, one of the most consistent blockers at Georgia over the past couple of seasons, is projected to the Tennessee Titans, where he would team up with former UGA center Ben Jones.

On Kindley, Draft Wire wrote:

If Derrick Henry leaves in free agency, running back obviously becomes a strong possibility here. But if he returns, the Titans should focus on fortifying an already strong offensive line with young reinforcements. Kindley is the best of a deep class of interior blockers, and his experience against top competition in the SEC have him ready to make an impact from Day 1.

If the 2020 NFL Draft in Las Vegas goes according to this big board, then five Georgia Bulldogs will be selected within the first two rounds.This big board only includes the top 99.

Jake Fromm checks in as the sixth rated quarterback. D’Andre Swift is the number one ranked running back. Only one offensive tackle is rated above UGA’s Andrew Thomas (Alabama Crimson Tide lineman Jedrick Willis). Right tackle Isaiah Wilson is the seventh rated offensive tackle behind his former teammate. Lastly, Solomon Kindley is the best-rated offensive guard.

It’d be interesting if five UGA offensive players go before a single Georgia defender, especially considering the defense’s dominance in 2019. Do you think this big board gets it right?

Ten Georgia football alumni invited to NFL Combine

The Georgia Bulldogs will be well represented at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.

Ten Dawg lettermen will attempt to turn the heads of NFL scouts and coaches across a series of drills and exercises, all conducted between February 27 and March 2 in Indianapolis.

Today, the NFL released a list of all 337 players invited. Representing the Silver Britches will be (in alphabetical order):

  • Kicker Rodrigo Blankenship
  • Wide receiver Lawrence Cager
  • Quarterback Jake Fromm
  • Running back Brian Herrien
  • Offensive lineman Solomon Kindley
  • Safety JR Reed
  • Running back D’Andre Swift
  • Offensive lineman Andrew Thomas
  • Tight end Charlie Woerner
  • Offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson

With several surprising early draft declarations, Georgia is ranked among the top three in number of prospects invited per school.

The only school that matches Georgia’s number of participants is Alabama  and the only school with more participants than both is LSU.

Seahawks address defensive line in latest Draft Wire mock draft

Draft Wire has their latest four-round 2020 mock draft, which has the Seattle Seahawks addressing their offensive and defensive line.

Now that the college football season is officially over, it’s time to start speculating on which college stars will find their way onto the Seattle Seahawks roster for the 2020 season.

Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling released his latest four round mock draft, which has the Seahawks investing heavily on the offensive and defensive lines – two key positions of need for this team if they want to make a Super Bowl run in 2020.

Here’s a look at each of Seattle’s four picks, and why they could be good fits.

Round 1, Pick 27: Solomon Kindley, OL, Georgia

Kindley isn’t being mocked in the first round very many places, but Seattle does have a history of making unconventional first round picks, so maybe this makes perfect sense.

Kindley is a hulking left guard – an area of need with Mike Iupati hitting free agency – although his mobility could use some work.

He’s more of a run-blocker than a pass protector at this point, another reason Pete Carroll could be interested, but unless he really impresses in the combine he’s probably not worth a first round selection.

Round 2, Pick 59: Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State

Dantzler has the requisite length (six-foot-two) to be a Seattle defensive back, and his previous experience at other positions gives him the versatility that coach Carroll craves, but he lacks physicality – often getting pushed around by bigger receivers.

Plus, he’s shown a tendency to get a little grabby on deep balls, which Seattle will want to avoid after seeing Tre Flowers cost them mightily because of that same issue.

Round 2, Pick 64: Zack Baun, EDGE, Wisconsin

This is a very weak draft for EDGE defenders, so while it may be a surprise to see Seattle wait this long to grab one, it probably makes the most sense.

Baun fits what Seattle needs as a quick pass rusher off the edge with the versatility and strength needed to make an instant impact.

He isn’t much of a run stuffer, but Seattle will take a third down pass rush specialist at this point – they can always work him into an every down player in the future.

For now, if he can get to the quarterback, he’s worth taking.

Round 4, Pick 123: Ross Blacklock, DT, TCU

Blacklock only recently committed to entering the 2020 NFL Draft, but many believe he has the size and strength to go within the top 100, making him a nice pickup at 123 if Seattle can get him.

Blacklock was the BIG-12 Co-Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2017, and showed great ability to get into the back field throughout his time with the Horned Frogs.

Seattle fans may be weary of taking a defensive lineman from TCU, but maybe reuniting Blacklock with L.J. Collier will get both of them going for Seattle in 2020.

Key Georgia Bulldog lineman cleared following scary injury

Georgia has lost four of their five starting offensive lineman from 2019: Andrew Thomas, Solomon Kindley, Cade Mays, and Isaiah Wilson.

The Georgia Bulldogs have lost four of their previous five starting offensive lineman from the 2019 season: LT Andrew Thomas (NFL), LG Solomon Kindley, RG Cade Mays (transfer to Tennessee), and RT Isaiah Wilson (NFL). The Dawgs need all the help they can get at offensive line with the line only returning starting center Trey Hill.

Fortunately, Georgia just got some good news.  Offensive lineman Justin Shaffer has been cleared to return following a scary neck injury. Shaffer sprained his neck against South Carolina and missed UGA’s final eight games of the season. Now, he’s been cleared to return:

Shaffer started last season against South Carolina and at Tennessee. His experience will be valuable for the offensive line as he appeared in each of Georgia’s first six games before suffering his injury.

Georgia’s 2020 offensive line is still a work in progress. The Dawgs have some talented recruits waiting in the wings and some elite recruits committed to Georgia, but waiting until signing day to make their decision official. Georgia’s biggest task will be replacing LT Andrew Thomas, who was the rock of UGA’s offensive line. Thomas projects to be a top ten pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Shaffer played primarily left guard when he saw action last season. His return also helps boost UGA’s depth along the offensive front. His experience will be especially important when Georgia plays at Alabama in September.

Georgia has lost another offensive lineman to the 2020 NFL Draft.

Via his Instagram account, redshirt junior guard Solomon Kindley said he will forego his senior season and pursue an NFL career.

“To start, thank you God for everything, Coming to UGA from Raines High School has been far more than I could ever imagine. Over the past four years I’ve created bonds that will last a lifetime. Bulldog nation thank you for accepting me and always being there when I needed you. I’m forever grateful for all your support. Thank you to my athletic trainers that have taken care of my body and the equipment staff that made sure I always had everything I needed to compete and look good doing it. Coach Pittman thank you for recruiting me and changing my life. Thank you for always being there for me on and off the field. All my coaches thank you for making me a better man and getting me to where I am today. The state of Georgia and Athens will always have a special place in my heart. With that being said and after discussing it over with my family, I’ll be foregoing my senior season and will enter the 2020 NFL Draft.”

The 6-foot-4 332-pound Kindley joins line mates Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson in leaving the Bulldogs early. They are joined by junior running back D’Andre Swift in entering the draft early.

Kindley started 32 games and saw action in 42 games over his UGA career. Best of luck to the Jacksonville product and all of DawgNation is hoping for a long and successful professional career.
