Georgia Bulldogs football player card: OL Broderick Jones

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Broderick Jones will be a key piece of the offensive front as a freshman

Broderick Jones, Offensive Line (No. 59):

Class: Freshman

Height: 6-4

Weight: 285 pounds

Hometown: Lithonia, Georgia

High School: Lithonia High School

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Broderick Jones will be a key piece of the offensive front as a freshman. Former Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke will coach up another talented recruit in Jones, who comes to Athens as a five-star recruit.

Jones played in the Under Armour All-American Game in 2020. He played offensive tackle and has the potential to have a similar career to Andrew Thomas. The Lithonia High School product enters his freshman year after being named as the top tackle in the class of 2020 (according to some recruiting services).

Unfortunately, Jones was involved in an accident this offseason. Jones could start as a freshman, although his lack of experience and the lack of traditional preparation for the season could limit the likelihood of him starting.

That being said, Georgia’s offensive line is replacing four starters and Jones will have ample opportunity for playing time. He’ll have to beat out players like Xavier Truss, Jamaree Salyer, Warren McClendon, and Warren Ericson to start.

UGA football player card: OL Sedrick Van Pran

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran comes to the University of Georgia as the top-rated center recruit in the class of 2020

Sedrick Van Pran, Offensive Line (No. 63):

Class: Freshman

Height: 6-4

Weight: 300 pounds

Hometown: New Orleans, Louisiana

High School: Warren Easton High School

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran comes to the University of Georgia as the top-rated center recruit in the class of 2020. He played football at Warren Easton High School in Louisiana before coming to Athens.

He will compete with returning starting center Trey Hill for playing time next season. Trey Hill is Georgia’s only returning starting offensive lineman and will be tough to win playing time over. Hill has great experience and stood out as a pass blocker last season.

That being said, Van Pran has lots of talent and should be Georgia’s future at the position. Georgia additionally has Clay Webb at the center position. Webb came to UGA as a touted recruit as well. Georgia is stacked at center moving forward and has excellent depth at the position. It will be interesting to see if Van Pran or Webb is the back-up center during this season.

UGA offensive line coach Matt Luke, the former Ole Miss head coach, lost three players to the 2020 NFL Draft. Luke secured a quality recruiting class along the offensive front including arguably the nation’s top tackle. Van Pran is a key member of Georgia’s class of 2020.

Check out some of Van Pran’s high school highlights. Van Pran consistently overwhelms his competition at the high school level:

Hometown: Bixby, Oklahoma

High School: Bixby High School

He will compete with Xavier Truss, Jamaree Salyer, Warren Ericson, Justin Shaffer, Warren McClendon, Broderick Jones, and more for playing time next season, but realistically he’ll have to wait his turn in order to see significant game action. Look for Perry to redshirt next season. He needs to add weight to his frame before he’ll be ready to compete at the SEC level.

UGA offensive line coach Matt Luke, the former Ole Miss head coach, lost three players to the 2020 NFL Draft. Luke secured a quality recruiting class along the offensive front including arguably the nation’s top tackle and the top ranked center.

Georgia offered Perry a PWO position in the summer of 2019. Best of luck to Perry while he dons the red and black!

Chris Brown, Miles Johnson and Weston Wallace are all class of 2020 preferred walk-on offensive lineman and will be linked together. Brown will have fight to earn playing time at Georgia. Georgia has an impressive class of 2020 offensive line group, so he’ll face some stout competition over the years.

Brown may not be the most heralded recruit or talented player, but every player on Georgia’s roster is important. The walk-ons help set the tone for the rest of the team. Additionally, the scout team is fundamental in preparing the defense and offense for the next week.

We’ll keep you updated throughout Brown’s career in Athens. Let’s look back to when he picked the University of Georgia:

Johnson and Weston Wallace, another class of 2020 preferred walk-on offensive lineman will typically be mentioned together. Johnson will fight to earn playing time at Georgia. It may not come right away, but he’s got the size to compete at the highest level.

Best of luck to Miles and Georgia football next season!

Willock will compete with Xavier Truss, Jamaree Salyer, Warren Ericson, Justin Shaffer, Warren McClendon, Broderick Jones, and more for playing time. Willock may end up taking a redshirt season in 2020.

Georgia Bulldogs offensive line coach Matt Luke stocked up on quality talent despite losing three lineman to the 2020 NFL Draft. Luke pulled together an elite recruiting class in the class of 2020 following Sam Pittman’s departure.

UGA football player card: OL Chad Lindberg

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Chad Lindberg came to the University of Georgia as a four-star recruit in the talented class of 2020

Chad Lindberg, Offensive Line (No. 78):

High School: Clear Creek High School

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Chad Lindberg came to the University of Georgia as a four-star recruit in the talented class of 2020. He was invited to the Under Armour All-American Game after an impressive career at Clear Creek. Lindberg also participated in track and field during high school.

Lindberg will compete with Xavier Truss, Jamaree Salyer, Warren Ericson, Justin Shaffer, Warren McClendon, Broderick Jones, and more for playing time. Lindberg has the talent to play immediately, but due to the experience and talent level of his competition, it should be anticipated that he’ll have a smaller role in 2020.

Georgia Bulldogs offensive line coach Matt Luke loaded up on talent despite losing three players to the 2020 NFL Draft. Luke pulled together a dynamic recruiting class along the offensive front including arguably the nation’s top tackle and the top ranked center.

Here’s what he looks like in the red and black:

UGA football player card: OL Owen Condon

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Owen Condon has seen action in four games throughout his career at UGA.

Owen Condon, Offensive Line (#75):

Class: Redshirt Sophomore

Height: 6-7

Weight: 310 pounds

Hometown: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

High School: Bishop McGuinness High School

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Owen Condon came to the University of Georgia as a three-star recruit. Condon redshirted as a freshman in 2018. He played in only one game last season, against Arkansas State. He saw 15 snaps n that contest.

Condon will compete with Xavier Truss, Jamaree Salyer, Warren Ericson, Justin Shaffer, Warren McClendon, Broderick Jones, and more for playing time. Condon is projected to be a depth player next season, but don’t count him out. He’s got great size at six-foot-seven and Georgia lost several starters along the offensive front from last season.

Georgia Bulldogs offensive line coach Matt Luke isn’t short on talent despite losing three players to the 2020 NFL Draft. Condon did pick up some experience as a freshman, where he played in three games.

Condon signed with the Dawgs back in 2017:

UGA football player card: OL Ben Cleveland

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Ben Cleveland is among the most experienced returning members of UGA’s talented offensive front.

Ben Cleveland, Offensive Line (#74):

Class: Senior

Height: 6-6

Weight: 335 pounds

Hometown: Toccoa, Georgia

High School: Stephens County High School

Cleveland has played in 36 total games over his three seasons in Georgia. Cleveland redshirted as a freshman back in 2016. Cleveland started at right guard in seven games last season.

Cleveland will be the strongest player on Georgia’s team next season. He’s a player to watch at the 2021 NFL Combine. Cleveland is a freak athlete and will be worth watching on the bench press, where he should crush it.

Cleveland will compete with Xavier Truss, Jamaree Salyer, Warren Ericson, Justin Shaffer, Warren McClendon, Broderick Jones, and more for a starting role in 2020. Fans should expect Cleveland to be a starter next season. The main question is where?

Georgia Bulldogs offensive line coach Matt Luke isn’t short on talent despite losing three players to the 2020 NFL Draft. Cleveland will help Georgia fill in the experience lost from last season. He missed the 2020 Sugar Bowl against Baylor due to academic issues, but he gave the Dawgs a big boost with his return for his senior season.

UGA ranked among SEC’s top offensive lines

The Georgia Bulldogs are projected to have one of the top offensive lines in the SEC next season.

The Georgia Bulldogs are projected to have one of the top offensive lines in the SEC next season. Georgia lost a lot of talent along the offensive front in the 2020 NFL Draft. Georgia’s Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson both ended up as first round picks. Additionally, Solomon Kindley was selected as the 111th pick of the Draft.

That’s not all that the University of Georgia offensive front has endured this offseason. The Dawgs also lost offensive line coach Sam Pittman, who is now the head coach at Arkansas. Georgia lost Cade Mays to the transfer portal as well. Mays is now a key lineman for the Tennessee Volunteers.

Despite all the loses, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are reloading along the offensive trenches. Smart found an elite offensive line coach in Matt Luke, the former head coach at Ole Miss. Georgia’s interior line returns Ben Cleveland, a well-seasoned veteran, elite center Trey Hill, and Justin Shaffer.

Things will get interesting at offensive tackle, where some elite 2020 recruits (Broderick Jones and Tate Ratledge) will compete with Xavier Truss, Warren McClendon, and Jamaree Salyer for playing time. Despite the rebuild, ESPN and SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic ranked Georgia’s offensive front among the best in the SEC:

Will Georgia’s reconstructed offensive line be able to compete with the likes of Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Florida? The Dawgs face off against each of the top offensive lines next season.
