BOOM! Ohio State football adds in-state linebacker to 2025 recruiting class

A midweek BOOM! #GoBucks

A weekend visit to Columbus was enough to convince Akron Hoban linebacker [autotag]Eli Lee[/autotag] that he wanted to play for [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag].

The junior, who stands 6 feet, 3 inches and weighs 215 pounds, obtained the offer he wanted and didn’t need to wait for other schools to join the hunt. Lee is ranked on the 247Sports composite as the No. 36 player at his position and the 380th overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Ahead of his visit, he had four other schools offer a scholarship, but the one he received earlier this month seemingly was the only one Lee needed.

Lee becomes the fourth commit of the class, along with quarterback Tavien St. Clair, cornerback Blake Woodby and wide receiver Jayvan Boggs. Aside from St. Clair, each of the other three commits have been during this month.

Ohio State football sends out a trio of offers to defensive ends

The Buckeyes were active with offers on Monday #GoBucks

The focus of [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] recruiting on Monday was all about defensive ends.

The Buckeye coaching staff sent out three separate offers, one in the 2024 class and two in the 2025 class. In this cycle, Ohio State has three commitments on the defensive line: Justin Scott, Eddrick Houston and Eric Mensah.

Scott will most likely play on the interior, although his skills will allow him to play almost anywhere. As for Houston and Mensah, they’re more of a traditional style defensive end.

Let’s take a look into who was offered and their current statuses in recruiting.

What to expect from newest Ohio State commit, 2025 WR, Jayvan Boggs

WRU is getting another top prospect #GoBucks

[autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] received a surprise commitment on Monday morning, one it will gladly take.

Florida wide receiver, [autotag]Jayvan Boggs[/autotag], a 2025 prospect, made his commitment to the Buckeyes, giving them a second verbal in the class along with quarterback Tavien St. Clair.

The 6-foot, 188-pound pass catcher is ranked 50th at his position and 368th nationally on the 247Sports composite.

If offensive coordinator [autotag]Brian Hartline[/autotag] believes in Boggs ability, that should be enough of a selling point. After watching his junior and sophomore highlights it’s easy to see why the Buckeyes went hard after him. Find out what I saw from watching Boggs film below.

Ohio State football loses 2024 in-state offensive line commit

The Buckeyes lose an offensive lineman in the 2024 class #GoBucks

[autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] will need to find at least one, possibly two more offensive lineman after the news that in-state 2024 tackle [autotag]Marc Nave[/autotag] has decommitted from the program.

The Toledo native made a March decision to join the Buckeye recruiting class, but on Saturday, Nave opted to go a different route. The tackle stands 6-foot, 5-inches and weighs 310-pounds, is ranked as the No. 44 interior offensive lineman and 644th overall prospect in his class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Buckeyes have missed out on more than a few tackle prospects recently, which makes you wonder why the coaching staff didn’t try and keep Nave in the class.

The Ohio State 2024 class now has just three line commits, and will now reshuffle their recruiting board to find others to join the class.

Ohio State football 5-star 2024 offensive line target sets his commitment date

The Buckeyes will soon know if the 5-star tackle will join them #GoBucks

The [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] recruiting machine is looking to add at least one more, if not two, offensive linemen to it’s 2024 recruiting class.

There are already four commits, but not one of them brings the pedigree that California offensive tackle [autotag]Brandon Baker[/autotag] would. The 6-foot, 5-inch and 285-pound lineman is ranked as the No. 1 player at his position and 24th nationally by the 247Sports Composite Rankings, which puts him in the 5-star range.

Baker has not taken all the official visits that he wanted, his final a trip to Nebraska will take place next weekend. With that in mind, he now knows the timeline of when he will make a decision, September 24th.

There are currently no crystal ball projections for Baker, so it’s tough to get a read on where he is leaning towards. We will know shortly if the 5-star tackle will join the Ohio State class.

Ohio State football recruiting: What to expect from Jeremiah McClellan

Another high level receiver headed to Columbus #GoBucks

The [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] wide receiver recruiting machine struck once again as Missouri’s [autotag]Jeremiah McClellan[/autotag] verbally committed to the Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon.

The Buckeyes once again had added another elite talent to this room, along with Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham. The trio is the top collection in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

McClellan’s addition compliments his two future teammates’ game as they each could potentially be on the field at the same time together due to their different skill sets. After watching the 6-foot, 190-pound slot’s junior highlight film, it’s a rich get richer scenario for the Buckeyes.

Find out below what kind of skills McClellan possess and what to expect from him down the road.

Ohio State offers 2025 California offensive lineman

The Buckeyes offer the large Californian #GoBucks

[autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] hasn’t finished up its 2024 recruiting class, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t looking ahead to the 2025 class.

With one commitment at the moment, quarterback Tavien St. Clair, the search for linemen to protect the sign caller is still ongoing. One of the players the Buckeye staff would like to see doing that is California’s [autotag]Peter Langi[/autotag], who on Sunday was offered a scholarship.

Langi, stands 6-foot, 7-inches while weighing 330-pounds, does not currently have a designation by the 247Sports Composite Rankings due to the list not having an update. By just looking at his offer list which includes USC, LSU, and Michigan, the offensive lineman will be among the highest-rated in the country.

Langi has the ability to play on the interior of the line or potentially as a right tackle. He’s not quite the ideal size for a left tackle but probably could play there in a pinch. Time will tell if the Ohio State offer has the Californian thinking about heading to the Midwest.

Ohio State makes final five for 2024 Florida defensive end

The Buckeyes could have another Pickett dominating their defensive line in the future #GoBucks

The last name of Pickett is familiar to [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] fans after Ryan dominated the middle of the Buckeye defensive line from 1998 to 2000.

His nephew, [autotag]Booker Pickett Jr.[/autotag], is a 6-foot, 3-inch and 205-pound edge rusher who is highly considering following in his uncles footsteps. The elder Booker played for Miami in the mid-90’s, is an intriguing option for the Florida native as well.

Both schools made Pickett Jr.’s final five along with South Carolina, Georgia and Florida State. The defender is ranked as No. 13 edge rusher and the 190th overall player according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He made an unofficial visit to Columbus during the spring, but has yet to make any official visits.

Ohio State offers 2025 5-star Florida offensive tackle

The Buckeyes offer the monster offensive tackle

As explosive as [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag]’s offense is, a lot of credit has to go to the offensive line.

The big guys up front allow the skill players to shine and the Buckeyes are looking to add some quality offensive tackles in the 2025 class. One of them, Florida’s [autotag]Solomon Thomas[/autotag], was offered a scholarship by offensive line coach [autotag]Justin Frye[/autotag].

Thomas is one of the best players in the country, standing 6-foot, 5-inches and weighing 315-pounds. He’s ranked as the No. 5 best offensive tackle and 24th overall player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Thomas has seen his recruitment make a big turn this week, gaining multiple offers from Power 5 programs like Clemson, Penn State, Tennessee, and others.

At the current moment, Ohio State has just one commitment in the 2025 cycle, quarterback Tavien St. Clair.

Scout’s view: Ohio State’s newest commitment, transfer linebacker Nigel Glover

The Buckeyes got a very good depth piece #GoBucks

[autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] made an extremely late addition to their 2023 recruiting class with the commitment of in-state linebacker, [autotag]Nigel Glover[/autotag].

After initially signing with Northwestern out of Northmont High School in Clayton, the 6-foot, 3-inch, 210-pound linebacker entered the transfer portal after head coach [autotag]Pat Fitzgerald[/autotag] was fired amid hazing allegations inside the program.

What was Northwestern’s loss was Ohio State’s gain, as Glover joins Arvell Reese as the only other linebacker to enter the program this year. I took some time to review Glover’s senior season highlights and break down his skill set. Find out below what to expect from the Buckeyes’ newest player.
