Alabama – Tennessee BetMGM betting odds

Alabama opens up as a 21.5 point favorite against the 2-2 Tennessee Volunteers for the Week 5 matchup in Knoxville, Tennessee.

No. 2 Alabama’s win over No. 3 Georgia did not come without some interesting factors: a pair of interceptions to start the game, a defensive showdown and three potential Heisman winners on the Crimson Tide offense showing out.

With the win, Alabama improves to 4-0, the only undefeated team in the SEC; and Nick Saban improves to 22-0 against former assistant coaches by defeating Kirby Smart.

Saban will now look to add one to both win columns this week as his team will face off against former defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee Volunteers.

Tennessee is 2-2 on the 2020 season with two, tough consecutive losses to Georgia and Kentucky.

Oddsmakers at BetMGM have put together lines for the Crimson Tide vs. Volunteers Week 5 matchup.

Alabama – Ole Miss BetMGM betting odds

Alabama will take on lane kiffin and Ole Miss. Here are the the betting lines including spread, moneyline and over under.

Alabama enters Week 3 of SEC action with a 2-0 record, Missouri and Texas A&M are in the rear-view mirror and Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss is the focal point for the Crimson Tide.

Former Alabama offensive coordinator, Kiffin, is in his first season coaching at Ole Miss. While his record with the team in 2020 is 1-1, and the team seems to have more life than in seasons past, the odds are against Kiffin. After Alabama’s win over Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies in Week 2, Nick Saban is now a perfect 20-0 against former assistant coaches.

BetMGM‘s latest lines for Alabama vs. Mississippi also predict an Alabama win by multiple touchdowns.

Last week, Alabama moneyline (-715) hit, Alabama’s spread of -16.5 (-110) hit and the over of 52.5 (-110) hit, as well.

Alabama-Missouri game history, BetMGM betting odds

Alabama will face off with the Missouri Tigers to begin the unprecedented 2020 SEC conference-only season.

Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide are set to kickoff their 2020 season with an away game in Columbia, Missouri against the Missouri Tigers.

This will be meeting No. 6 between the two teams, with Alabama leading the series with four wins, to Missouri’s two.

Missouri’s two wins came in the first two contests in 1968 and 1975. Alabama came back in 1978 to beat the Tigers, and then they did not meet again until Missouri joined the SEC in 2012 where they have played the Crimson Tide three times and have not been able to put up a fight.

Overall, in all six contests, Alabama has scored a total of 178 points, compared to Missouri’s 108.

BetMGM produced betting lines for the game and has Alabama as a clear favorite.

Chiefs open as 8.5-point favorites over Chargers in Week 2

The Kansas City Chiefs are road favorites against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs open as favorites in back-to-back weeks to start the 2020 season.

Following Sunday’s slate of NFL games, the folks over at BetMGM released their opening betting lines for Week 2. The Chiefs will play against their first AFC West foe of the season as hit the road and head to SoFi stadium to face the Los Angeles Chargers. Both teams started the season with a Week 1 win over their opponents and will look to extend their winning streak.

At BetMGM, the Chiefs are currently listed as 8.5-point favorites over the Chargers. The opening money line is set at -400 for Kansas City and +315 for Los Angeles. The opening over/under point total is set at 49.5 points.

Andy Reid’s Chiefs have won 11 of their last 12 games against the Chargers. They’re on a roll in the sports betting world too, covering the spread in 10 consecutive games dating back to their Week 11 tilt with Los Angeles in 2019.

This time around they’re facing a Chargers team with some new pieces and a new quarterback in Tyrod Taylor. The L.A. offense really struggled to move the ball against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. The strength of the Chargers team continues to be the defensive line. They’ll live or die by their ability to get pressure on the quarterback and force turnovers.

A miniature bye week from opening the season on Thursday will give the Kansas City extra time to prepare and a few extra days of recovery time before they head to Los Angeles. It’s just one more advantage that seems to be favoring the Chiefs in this one.

NFL Week 1 odds, betting lines: Bills solid favorite over Jets

Buffalo Bills, New York Jets oddsmakers, betting, bets, odds, Week 1.

[jwplayer xqUrAatf-ThvAeFxT]

The Bills and NFL are gearing up for Week 1 of the 2020 season. Ahead of game week, odds are out. To start the season, Buffalo welcomes the New York Jets to Orchard Park for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Sunday. In this one, the Bills are 6.5 favorites at home, according to BetMGM.

Interestingly, the home team typically is given a three-point boost in games by oddsmakers each week. Week 1 between these two AFC East rivals will see the Jets travel upstate to western New York, however, there won’t be any fans at Bills Stadium for this one due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Still, the Jets have struggled in recent seasons under head coach Adam Gase and the hot seat is certainly on if he can’t get quarterback Sam Darnold and their offense going this year. No easy task getting that started against the Bills defense, a top-three unit from 2019.

That, plus the questions surrounding Buffalo’s offense and quarterback Josh Allen, see the game slated as a low-scoring affair to start the season. The over/ under of 40 is the lowest for all Week 1 slates. Thursday Night Football’s Chiefs-Texans game is more than two touchdowns higher at 54.5.

Last year the Bills and Jets finished the regular season against one another and the Bills entered that one as 1.5-point favorites. The Jets, facing a team of mostly backups for Buffalo because their postseason seeding was locked up, won that contest late, 13-6. This year’s season opener sees the moneyline sit at Bills (-265) and Jets (+215) as well.

Notre Dame/Navy: Prediction Time Already?!?

Notre Dame and Navy’s game for the end of August is very much up in the air. But until it’s cancelled we can still get our predictions in!

In a perfect world we’ll have college football go off without a hitch and games will be played in front of full crowds starting at the end of August.  Now is that likely or realistic?  Not so much but until we’re told otherwise we’re still left with the task of predicting how this college football season will go.

We’ve already gone over ESPN’s Football Power Index and how they see Notre Dame not only losing three games but more specifically, having very little chance against three different opponents in 2020.

Our friend Pete Fiutak over at College Football News started putting together some of his “fearless predictions”, pre-season style anyway and today offered his thoughts on Notre Dame vs. Navy in Dublin.

Nothing like putting a prediction out there for a game that seems less likely to be taking place by the day.  I would argue against one point he brings up though and that’s Navy having an advantage with fewer practices.  Maybe it’s just from watching their pre-season struggles in the Showtime series they were featured in a few years back but that offense doesn’t appear to hit the ground running often.

Ultimately Fiutak picks Notre Dame 34-16 in his prediction, which would be a Notre Dame cover by BetMGM’s posted line where the Irish are a 16.5 point favorite.

Odds via BetMGMAccess USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated April 28, 2020 at 3:15 p.m. ET.

Notre Dame will have spots to fill with six players getting drafted and another six signing free agent deals with NFL teams over the weekend and as is always the case with the Navy game, the Irish will still have superior talent and much bigger lines on both sides of the ball.

I’m with Fiutak on Notre Dame winning this game fairly easily and think it taking place early in the season is a better thing for the Irish than the Midshipmen.  I’ll also go along with him four months before the game is set to be played and say that Notre Dame will cover.  For fun I’ll say 41-16.

Now let’s just hope this thing somehow is played as scheduled.

Oddsmakers: Despite playoffs, Bills open as favorite vs. Jets

Buffalo Bills, New York Jets Week 17 money line, spreads, odds and over/ under.

The Bills have nothing to play for against the New York Jets in Week 17. The Jets are playing for the ol’ pride factor. Buffalo already has the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs locked up.

Despite that, oddsmakers still give the Bills the edge in this one.

According to BetMGM, the Bills have opened as 1.5-point favorites against the Jets in their season finale.

As the home team, the Bills will typically see a three-point boost for playing this one at New Era Field. After their Week 16 loss to the Patriots, Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said he hadn’t decided yet if the Bills would be playing their starters or not.

Regardless, it would be insane for the Bills to do so for an entire game which is meaningless. So expect it to be Jets starters against Bills backups. This factor also makes the Bills being favorites even more intriguing.

The Bills and Jets last met on opening day. In that one, the Jets were three-point favorites in a game the Bills won outright.

Once again, the Bills have the lowest over/ under in the NFL heading into a week. That’ set at 36.5. The money line sits Bills (-120) and Jets (+100) as well.
