NFL Week 18 Betting First Impressions: Several playoff spots remain up for grabs

An early betting preview of the upcoming action in the NFL.

As the NFL begins to turn a page to Week 18 and NFL-related content follows, our thoughts remain with Damar Hamlin. Nothing we discuss here is more important than his well-being. You can keep up with the latest on his condition here.

My glimpse at betting lines around the NFL will be a little different this week, with many games carrying playoff implications and a few meaningless games sprinkled in. So, I’ll layout everything at stake for each matchup before diving into my thoughts for the games that matter.

The New Orleans Saints have their second-to-last home game of the season against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Despite the season full of struggles, the Saints could find some form of solace in the potential sweeping of longtime rivals the Falcons this season.

Here’s all of the information you need to be able to watch the NFC South matchup, from a broadcast map to betting lines:

Vikings open up as 3.5-point favorites in Week 13 vs. Jets

The line is slightly smaller than it was last week

The Minnesota Vikings end their three-game homestand against the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. For the second-straight week, the Vikings are only slight favorites at home with Tipico Sportsbook. having the purple and gold as 3.5-point favorites.

The spread being so close makes some sense. The Jets just improved their record to 7-4 with a 31-10 walloping of the Chicago Bears. They are currently third in the AFC but only one game behind the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills.

A win for the Vikings would give them an undefeated record over an AFC division in a single season since 1998 where the only regular season loss was to their NFC Central foe Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A win for the Vikings would also get them one step closer to a division title, as they can clinch with a win and a Detroit Lions loss.

Saints vs. Rams: Game time, broadcast map, TV schedule, streaming, and more

Saints vs. Rams: Game time, broadcast map, TV schedule, streaming, and more, via @DillySanders:

The New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams are meeting on Sunday in a battle between two teams who are down in the dumps. The Rams have lost five of their last six games and the Saints have lost four of their last five. Despite both teams having positive outlooks in the preseason, both really need something to go their way.

And the Rams are the healthier team, getting quarterback Matthew Stafford back after losing last week without him. Can Andy Dalton bounce back after a rough stretch? Here’s how you can watch the Saints vs the Rams on Sunday morning:

Saints vs. Steelers: Game time, broadcast map, TV schedule, streaming, and more

Saints vs. Steelers: Game time, broadcast map, TV schedule, streaming, betting lines and more, via @DillySanders:

The New Orleans Saints are looking for a get back game against a weak and struggling Pittsburgh Steelers team.

The Saints are very much injured, but at least will be getting Jarvis Landry which should lighten the load for Chris Olave. Of course, with the offensive line hurt it could even out to where the offense is still hurting more than being helped.

This will likely be a game where the Saints defense has to be the ones to hold the brunt of the responsibility. The Steelers offense is weak and it’s likely one of the few games on the schedule where New Orleans is the team with the advantage at the quarterback position.

Saints vs. Ravens: Game time, TV schedule, streaming, and more

All of the information you need to watch the New Orleans Saints vs Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football, via @DillySanders:

The New Orleans Saints sit in a position to move towards first place in the NFC South if things are able to go their way on Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens. They have lost Michael Thomas for the season, but are overall going to be a healthier offense than they’ve fielded in weeks. They’re riding some major momentum after their dominant win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week.

The Ravens sit at 5-3 and first place in their division. Lamar Jackson is an MVP candidate and will look to continue to carry their offense on his back. The Saints usually struggle against mobile quarterbacks, how will they fare in this one?

Here’s how you can watch the Saints vs Ravens on Monday night:

Jaguars open as favorites in London vs. mirror-image Broncos

The 2-5 Jaguars and 2-5 Broncos are both on four-game losing streaks heading into their Week 7 duel in London.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are far removed from their 2-1 start to the year after four straight losses. The Denver Broncos can say the same exact thing after losing a fourth straight game in Week 7.

Now the pair of 2-5 teams are set to meet overseas at Wembley Stadium in London for an early morning Week 8 game, and oddsmakers have the Jaguars as the favorites.

Jacksonville opened as a 3.5-point favorite over the Broncos on Tipico Sportsbook with the point total set at 39.5.

The Broncos were without starting quarterback Russell Wilson in Week 7 and instead relied on backup Brett Rypien in a 16-9 loss to the New York Jets. Wilson was questionable for the game with a hamstring injury and reportedly wanted to play, but was shelved by Broncos head coach Daniel Hackett.

Wilson will presumably be back in action against the Jaguars, but the line could move with updates on his injury status through the week.

Jacksonville has been favored in two games this season, but lost both: a Week 5 home game against the Houston Texans and a Week 7 loss to the New York Giants.

The current game day betting lines for Clemson vs. Florida State

Here’s a look at the current odds for Clemson’s matchup with Florida State.

Starting the 2022 college football season 6-0 (4-0 ACC), No.4 Clemson walked away from Alumni Stadium in Boston with a 31-3 win over Jeff Hafley’s Boston College.

This Clemson team has faced some tough competition the past few weeks, with wins over two top 15 teams in Wake Forest and NC State before handling their business on the road against the Golden Eagles. Week 7 may see the Tigers facing their toughest matchup yet, again hitting the road to take on Florida State at Doak S. Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee.

Swinney and the Tigers are heading into their seventh straight game this season as the betting favorite, though this matchup with the Seminoles is the closest the lines have been all season.

Wondering what the lines are looking like for the Tigers’ matchup with the Seminoles?

We’ve got you covered with a look at all MGM Sportsbook’s lines for Clemson’s Week 7 game.

  • Point spread: Clemson -4.5
