2023 NFL mock draft: The number of Alabama players continues to drop

Alabama is expected to have multiple players drafted in the first round, but how many exactly?

The 2022 college football season is still a few months away from kicking off, but most analysts assume they know who will be taken early in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft.

Former Alabama players are regulars when it comes to the annual three-day event, especially in the first round.

In the 2022 draft, only two Crimson Tide players were selected. While having one player drafted in the first round would be cause for celebration, two is a relatively low number for Alabama.

Looking ahead to 2023, some draft experts and analysts predict Alabama to tie or break the record of six players selected in the first round. The record was set by Miami in 2004 and tied by Alabama in 2021.

The latest mock draft done by Luke Easterling of the Draft Wire has dropped the number of former Crimson Tide layers to four in Round 1.

Here’s who they are and where they land.

A record-breaking mock draft for the Crimson Tide!

The 2022 NFL draft just happened and the 2022 college football and NFL season are still months away from kicking off. So, it only makes sense to look ahead at the 2023 draft.

Some of today’s biggest college football stars will be tomorrow’s NFL rookies taking the league by storm. The bridge between the two is the annual three-day NFL draft.

The record for most number of draft picks by a single collegiate program in the first round is six, first set by the Miami Hurricanes in 2004 and then tied by Alabama in 2021.

The latest 2023 NFL mock draft by the Draft Wire has Alabama breaking that record by one. Seven Crimson Tide players are expected to be selected in the first round of next year’s draft.

Taking an early look at the top 15 CB prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft class

After the Eagles passed on adding defensive backs to the roster last weekend, we’re taking an early look at the top 15 CB prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft class

The 2022 NFL draft came and went with the Eagles passing on a cornerback and safety in all seven rounds, choosing to address the position via undrafted free agency.

Cornerback was deemed an urgent position of need with no established starter at the position opposite Pro Bowl corner Darius Slay.

It’s the third time in four years that Philadelphia has bypassed selecting a cornerback in the draft. It’s the fifth time in six years they haven’t selected a safety.

The Eagles really like the young cornerback already on the roster and add former Clemson All American cornerback Mario Goodrich via undrafted free agency as well.

If 2022 doesn’t produce a starter opposite Slay, the 2023 NFL draft offers an opportunity to find a successor and starter at both spots.
