23 Seattle Seahawks players who will become free agents in March

Reviewing 23 pending free agents for the Seattle Seahawks in 2024.

The Seattle Seahawks have entered their offseason a little earlier than we were hoping. Getting back to the postseason next year will require a lot of work, beginning with deciding which pending free agents to keep and which to let walk. This year the team has 23 players who will hit the open market in a couple of months unless they are re-signed before them.

At the top of the list is star defensive end Leonard Williams, who the team traded two draft picks before just before the trade deadline. If they let Williams leave they’ll get a high compensatory pick. However, Williams has been their best defender this season since the deal went down and they’d be wise to retain him. Other key free agents include their top-three off-ball linebackers, Bobby Wagner, Jordyn Brooks and Devin Bush.

Here is the full list of pending free agents for the Seahawks in 2024.

Ex-Giant Leonard Williams the first player to appear in 18 games since 1930

Former New York Giants DL Leonard Williams appeared in 18 games this season, the first player to accomplish that feat since 1930.

Former New York Giants defensive lineman Leonard Williams tied a rare NFL record over the weekend when he played in his 18th regular season game on Sunday.

Williams played the first eight games of the regular season for the Giants before being traded to the Seattle Seahawks before the October 31 deadline.

The Seahawks had only played seven games to that point and Williams was afforded the opportunity to play in Seattle’s final 10 games.

That is a feat that has not been done since two members of the Frankfort Yellow Jackets accomplished it back in 1930, per Stathead.

The Giants received a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 fifth-rounder from Seattle in exchange for the 29-year-old Williams.

Leonard Williams reaches milestone not seen in almost 100 years

Leonard Williams has been the Seahawks’ best defender since he came over from the Giants in a trade just before the deadline.

Williams’ performance on the field has been especially impressive when you consider that he hasn’t gotten a bye week this season. Thanks to the trade, he missed out on getting a week off both with the Giants and with the Seahawks. That means today Williams will be playing in his 18th game this season. In case you’re wondering, that hasn’t been done since 1930.

Williams has totaled 5.5 sacks, nine tackles for a loss and 15 quarterback hits.

Williams will become a free agent in March. However, he has bought a house in the Seattle area – with Tyler Lockett acting as his real estate agent – indicating he wants to stay.

Leonard Williams joins list of DNPs on Week 18 injury report

Here is the full injury report from Thursday’s practice.

The Seattle Seahawks’ last injury report of the season is heading in the wrong direction. On Wednesday the team had seven players sit out practice. Yesterday that list grew, as defensive end Leonard Williams was listed among the non-participants with a shoulder injury. On the bright side, running back Ken Walker is getting better – after being a DNP on Wednesday he was upgraded to limited yesterday.

Studs and duds for the Seahawks from their loss to the Steelers

The Seahawks did get some silver linings during the storm, most of them coming on offense

The Seattle Seahawks’ missed tackle problem has finally done them in and in the process it may have killed their chances of making the playoffs. Today’s 30-23 loss at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers was an embarrassing showcase from a team that supposedly prides itself on toughness and is led by a defense-first, potentially future Hall of Fame head coach.

Then again, the Seahawks did get some silver linings during the storm. Most of them came on offense, which is having to carry a low energy, poor effort defensive unit. Here are our studs and duds from Sunday’s loss to Pittsburgh.

Leonard Williams needed a burger after trip to fancy Seattle restaurant

Fortunately for Williams, a Dick’s Burgers is never too far away.

Often when people think of wealth and status, they associate it with fancy restaurants and fine dining. It appears to the be epitome of “making it” big… until they sit down and see how much food they are actually getting for the price they are paying.

While I have personally never eaten at Canlis, I have a sneaking suspicion this was the case for Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams. When asked about his recent experience at Canlis, Williams had this to say about his meal, perhaps, lack thereof.

Or perhaps Williams was truly just that hungry! I cannot imagine the carb intake NFL linemen must consume to maintain playing weight.

Fortunately for Williams, a Dick’s Burgers is never too far away.

We’re looking at takeaways from the first half as the Philadelphia Eagles hold a 20-3 lead over the New York Giants on Christmas Day

The Eagles needed some good vibes at Lincoln Financial Field, and through one half of play, Matt Patricia’s defense has been stout while holding Brian Daboll’s offense to three total points.

On offense, A.J. Brown broke DeVonta Smith’s record for receptions in a season, while Jalen Hurts moved past Cam Newton for rushing touchdowns in a season.

Philadelphia is up 20-3, with room for more efficiency.

Eagles vs. Giants inactives for Week 16: Ben VanSumeren to make 1st NFL start

The Philadelphia Eagles released their list of inactives and rookie linebacker Ben VanSumeren will start in place of Nicholas Morrow and Zach Cunnnigham

The Eagles released their list of inactives for Christmas Day, and rookie linebacker Ben VanSumeren will play a critical role, with Zach Cunningham and Nicholas Morrow ruled out.

With the linebacker depth already thin, Philadelphia will counter Saquon Barkley with Shaquille Leonard, VanSumeren, and Brandon Smith, who was elevated from the practice squad for today’s game.

Guard Cam Jurgens will start at right guard after missing last week’s game in Seattle. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith was a limited participant at practice on Saturday but has no game status designation and will play.
