2023 NFL draft top-50 list: 6 Alabama players named as top prospects

The 2023 NFL Draft is projected to be LOADED with current Alabama players, especially in the first round!

Though the 2022 NFL regular season is still a few months away from kicking off, it’s never too early to look ahead to the next draft.

The 2023 NFL draft will be loaded with talent and is expected to be a much stronger class than the recent 2022 draft.

Alabama is known for sending multiple players to the league via the draft, especially in the first round. Next year will is projected to be a big one for the Crimson Tide, as the program could once again tie the record for the most picks in the first round with six, or potentially break the record.

CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards put together a list of the top-50 collegiate players that will be eligible for the 2023 draft following the 2022 college football season. Over 10% of the players mentioned are members of the Crimson Tide.

Here’s who they are and where they stand, according to Edwards.

WATCH: Alabama football leaders spend the day with Saban on the lake

Alabama Football had their annual leadership lake day where Coach Saban takes out leaders from the football team to enjoy their hard work…

Contrary to the belief of many, the fun with [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] never stops! This week he hosted the Alabama football leadership council out to his Lake Tuscaloosa house for some outdoor activities like boating and jet skiing.

At the lake house the guys also get a chance to spend some non-football related time with Coach Saban and their fellow team leaders. The attendees this season were [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag], [autotag]Cameron Latu[/autotag], [autotag]Will Reichard[/autotag], [autotag]Jordan Battle[/autotag], [autotag]Will Anderson[/autotag], [autotag]Henry To’oTo’o[/autotag], [autotag]Jaylen Moody[/autotag], [autotag]DJ Dale[/autotag], [autotag]Justin Eboigbe[/autotag], [autotag]Byron Young[/autotag], [autotag]Darrian Dalcourt[/autotag], and [autotag]Emil Ekiyor[/autotag].

Coach Saban has been complimentary of this class and their work ethic, which all starts with the leaders of the team leading by example and not complaining.

After a disappointing loss in the National Championship this past season, look for Saban and his guys to bounce back and fight for No. 19 this season.

Bryce Young takes significant fall in latest 2023 NFL mock draft

The Heisman-winning QB is nowhere close to being first overall in this latest 2023 NFL mock draft…

The 2022 college football season is rapidly approaching, allowing NFL teams to scout some of the nation’s top prospects in consideration of the 2023 NFL draft.

Alabama’s 2022 roster is loaded with talent. Whether it’s reigning Heisman-winning quarterback [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] or [autotag]Will Anderson[/autotag] being the most dominant defender in the nation, the Crimson Tide will likely be well represented in next year’s draft.

Sports Illustrated’s Zack Patraw recently shared his latest 2023 NFL mock draft for the first round and there are some interesting bits.

In total, five Alabama players are projected to be drafted. Here’s where they land, according to Patraw.

Alabama Crimson Tide Snapshot Profile: No. 11 Kristian Story

Continuing the Crimson Tide Snapshot Profile, we take a look at R-So. Safety, Kristian Story.

Going into the 2022 football season, Roll Tide Wire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the Alabama Crimson Tide roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Nick Saban this season.

[autotag]Kristian Story[/autotag] is a rising redshirt-sophomore that saw a considerable amount of playing time during the 2021 season as a contributor on special teams. He made sure his presence was felt on the field during Alabama’s A-Day spring game just a few weeks ago. In the upcoming 2022 season, he may be a name hidden in the shadows of those that sit above him on the depth chart, but he will certainly see the field a lot more.

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Alabama breaks record with 7 selections in first round

A record-breaking mock draft for the Crimson Tide!

The 2022 NFL draft just happened and the 2022 college football and NFL season are still months away from kicking off. So, it only makes sense to look ahead at the 2023 draft.

Some of today’s biggest college football stars will be tomorrow’s NFL rookies taking the league by storm. The bridge between the two is the annual three-day NFL draft.

The record for most number of draft picks by a single collegiate program in the first round is six, first set by the Miami Hurricanes in 2004 and then tied by Alabama in 2021.

The latest 2023 NFL mock draft by the Draft Wire has Alabama breaking that record by one. Seven Crimson Tide players are expected to be selected in the first round of next year’s draft.

Major takeaways from Alabama Football’s A-Day spring game

Major takeaways from Alabama Football’s A-Day spring game

Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team concluded their spring activities with the annual A-Day game inside Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Tide battled the rainy weather as the White team defeated the Crimson team 25-7.

This spring game allowed for the public to see how the Crimson Tide football team currently looks, as fans and media members will have to wait until early September to see the final product hit the field against Utah State in the season-opening contest.

Some names were expectedly called often, while others seemingly appeared out of nowhere to steal the show.

Aside from a handful of plays, the defense dominated the day which didn’t come as too much of a surprise. Alabama returns a wealth of experienced talent on the defensive side of the ball, while the offense is trying to replace some of its offensive weapons from the 2021 season.

Let’s take a look at some of the major takeaways from Alabama’s A-Day game.

Previewing Alabama’s defensive secondary for the 2022 football season

Here’s how Alabama’s secondary might look for 2022.

When the Crimson Tide take the field in 2022, they will be on a mission to re-stake their claim to the College Football Playoff national championship trophy after narrowly missing their chance to repeat in 2021 with a loss to Georgia in the title game.

The secondary is returning some studs and gaining some valuable experience at the same time, which should lead to Alabama having one of their better defensive secondaries in recent years. The addition of Eli Ricks to the defensive backfield will certainly bolster the ranks of a secondary that definitely struggled at times throughout the 2021 season.

After the departures of Jalyn Armour-Davis (draft), Josh Jobe(draft) and Marcus Banks (transfer), there are some holes that need to be filled, but the spots should be filled by very capable athletes that understand their assignments.

Let’s preview every player in the Alabama secondary, starting with my predicted starters for the 2022 season.

Alabama S Jordan Battle returning for senior season

Alabama safety Jordan Battle will be returning for his senior season instead of leaving school early for the 2022 NFL draft

One of the top safeties in college football is heading back to school for another year.

Alabama’s Jordan Battle is passing up the chance to enter the 2022 NFL draft, and will instead return to school for his senior season.

Battle made the announcement Friday via social media.

Widely regarded as one of the top safety prospects in this year’s draft class, Battle was projected to be a Day 2 pick, but could enter the first-round conversation with a strong 2022 campaign.

ALABAMA DRAFT TRACKER: Who’s staying, who’s going

Tracking which Alabama players are returning and which are entering the NFL draft

After Monday night’s championship loss to the Georgia Bulldogs a flurry of Alabama players have been making decisions on their playing futures.

Some have entered the transfer portal, but several have also made the decision to enter the NFL draft or remain in Tuscaloosa with the Tide.

With Alabama having such a talented roster, it can be difficult to keep up with what each player has decided to do. To help all of us get a better idea of which players are heading off to the NFL and which are choosing to remain at Alabama, here is the most up-to-date list.

Alabama DB Jordan Battle will return for senior season

The job is not done yet according to Alabama DB Jordan Battle

This week’s headlines have been dominated by the transfer portal and NFL draft entries. In Alabama’s case there has been a solid mix of each, and even a few doses of surprise returns. Adding to the surprise list is Alabama star defensive back Jordan Battle.

Battle had a strong junior season for Tide, finishing with 85 total tackles, and was tied for the team lead in interceptions with three. Battle returned two of his three interceptions for a touchdown.

Towards the end of the season, Battle was playing about as well as any other safety in the country and that is what makes his decision to return a slight, yet pleasant surprise.

Stay tuned to Roll Tide Wire for all the latest on the Crimson Tide!
