ESPN College GameDay: Analysts make their picks for Clemson vs. South Carolina

ESPN College GameDay analysts favor Clemson in their rivalry week matchup with South Carolina.

Dabo Swinney and the Tigers are in Death Valley for rivalry week as Shane Beamer and South Carolina head to Clemson for their final regular season game of the 2022 season.

It is an important game for No.8 Clemson, 10-1 (8-0 ACC), as they are on the outside looking in of the College Football Playoffs. After the Gamecocks dismantled former No.5 Tennessee last week, making this rivalry week matchup much more important.

ESPN’s College GameDay crew doesn’t see an upset coming like it did last week with South Carolina. Pat McAfee, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, and Kirk Herbstreit all picked Clemson to win this matchup.

It will be a big test for this Clemson team as they look to make a needed statement.

ESPN’s College GameDay headed to Columbus for Ohio State vs. Michigan

Which pregame show will you be going to if you are heading down to the stadium Saturday morning? #GoBucks #TheGame

We’re beginning to wonder if there’s anyone in the media NOT going to be in Columbus this coming Saturday when Ohio State hosts Michigan. “The Game” is set to kick off as Fox’s Big Noon Game of the Week with the Big Noon Kickoff crew in attendance and all that goes with that.

And now, in case you missed it, ESPN’s College GameDay, and all the hoopla that goes with the fan-favorite, long-running production will also be on the banks of the Olentangy competing for space and viewers.

There are going to be a lot of Ohio State and Michigan personalities too with the media members taking part. From Fox, you have former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and former Wolverine all-timer Charles Woodson, while College GameDay has Desmond Howard and his horrible takes on the set with former Buckeye quarterback Kirk Herbstreit.

There’s no word on who the celebrity guest picker will be yet for College GameDay, but let’s hope the show does much better than what we’ve seen so far this year.

LeBron anyone?

So, I guess if you are into these pregame shows, get down to the ‘Shoe, grab your signs and get ready to give some of those Michigan men on set a very warm welcome if you know what I mean.

Dan Lanning once again throws shade at ESPN ‘College GameDay’ crew after win over Utah

Dan Lanning is a man who keeps his receipts.

It was only a couple of months ago that Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning professed his admiration for country music star Luke Combs, who was the only member of the ESPN ‘College GameDay’ crew that correctly picked Oregon to beat BYU early in the season. The shows analysts sided with the Cougars.

Lanning made it known on social media after Oregon’s dominant win that he was aware of the lack of confidence the crew had in his team, and credited Combs for staying true.

Lanning threw similar shade on Sunday morning after the Ducks’ impressive upset win over No. 10 Utah, 20-17, on Saturday night.

As you might have guessed, the GameDay crew picked unanimously in favor of the Utes.

With the uncertainty surrounding quarterback Bo Nix’s availability heading into this game, it’s not a shock that everyone picked against the Ducks, but Oregon was able to show a lot of heart and grit in their win on Saturday night.

Let them know they were wrong, Dan. You earned it.

ESPN College GameDay crew picks winner between Oregon and Utah game

With Bo Nix’s health in question, the GameDay crew didn’t show much confidence in Oregon’s chances over Utah.

Trying to predict the outcome of a game when you don’t know who one of the quarterbacks is going to be is not a simple task. That’s currently the case for this matchup between the Oregon Ducks and Utah Utes on Saturday night in Autzen Stadium.

Oregon quarterback Bo Nix was injured last week after being hit in the leg during the fourth quarter of the Washington game. Though he did return for the final five plays of the game, his status for Saturday is up in the air, and there has been a lot of mystery surrounding the entire situation.

Despite all of that, ESPN’s College GameDay crew was left picking a winner, with Ducks and Utes standing as one of the most important games on the docket, with the winner getting an inside path to the Pac-12 Championship game.

Here is how they all picked on Saturday:

Nick Faldo to be guest picker on College GameDay in Bozeman, Montana

Sir Nick Faldo is putting the headset back on Saturday.

Since stepping away from the broadcast booth in August, Sir Nick Faldo hasn’t made many TV appearances. That’ll change Saturday.

ESPN’s College GameDay ventured into Bozeman, Montana, for the big rivalry game between Montana State and Montana, which dates to 1897. Since retiring from broadcasting, Faldo moved to Montana, where he spent plenty of time fly fishing and has been vocal in his support for all things Montana State.

Now, he gets to put the headset back on, as he’s the special guest picker on College GameDay. FCS third-ranked Montana State and No. 12 Montana will kick off at 2 p.m. ET.

Legendary broadcaster Lee Corso returned to the College GameDay set this week after battling health issues the past few weeks. And there should be little doubt that he and Faldo will be must-watch TV.

UCLA has prevented USC from being on ESPN College GameDay twice this year

Want yet another reason to hate #UCLA? The Bruins have prevented #USC and Lincoln Riley from getting two GameDay slots in 2022.

Want another reason to hate UCLA, Trojan fans? You probably don’t need one, but this is UCLA week, which means hating the Bruins is a natural feeling, as normal as your morning coffee or the Dodgers losing in October or the Angels having insufficient pitching to help Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani.

Why not have more reasons to hate UCLA, leading up to kickoff this Saturday evening in the Arroyo Seco against the Men of Troy? We have one, and it’s connected to the flow of the 2022 Pac-12 football season.

We’ll include some other reasons as well, but we lead with a tie-in to ESPN and its college football pregame show, College GameDay:

Who ESPN College Gameday picked to win the Texas vs. TCU game

It’s likely to be a close one in Austin tonight.

No. 18 Texas hosts No. 4 TCU on Saturday evening for a crucial Big 12 matchup. Continue reading “Who ESPN College Gameday picked to win the Texas vs. TCU game”

ESPN College GameDay crew picks winner between Oregon and Washington rivalry

We’re finally into the stretch of games for the Oregon Ducks’ season that has been circled for months. Going into the year, we knew that these last three weeks of the regular season, against Washington, Utah, and Oregon State, would end up telling all for the Ducks.

We’ve spent the last week setting the stage. We heard Oregon head coach Dan Lanning lay out what this rivalry game against the Huskies means, and witnessed some interesting coaching tactics from in along the way. We’ve broken down the film and looked at what the numbers say about this matchup. We’ve even made some of our own predictions here at Ducks Wire.

Now it’s time to see what some of the “experts” think. As we like to do each Saturday, it’s time to look at the picks that the crew of ESPN’s College GameDay made on Saturday morning, deciding between Ducks and Huskies. Here’s where they landed:

Texas vs. TCU: Best signs from ESPN’s College Gameday

Texas fans got creative with their gameday signs this week.

ESPN’s College Gameday made their second appearance in Austin of the season for Texas’ matchup against undefeated TCU. Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and the crew last made the trip when Texas took on Alabama back in Week 2.

The No. 18 Longhorns are looking to hand No. 4 TCU its first loss of the season. A win would give Texas an inside track on playing for a Big 12 title in a potential rematch against the Frogs.

Expect no shortage of firepower from either squad in this game. Bijan Robinson (Texas), Xavier Worthy (Texas), Kendre Miller (TCU) and Quentin Johnston (TCU) are some of the best playmakers in the entire nation. Texas’ Quinn Ewers vs. TCU’s Max Duggan provide an excellent quarterback battle as well.

The gameday atmosphere was absolutely electric ahead of the top-25 Big 12 Conference showdown. Here is a look at some of the best fan-made signs spotted on the show this morning.

Texas vs. TCU: ESPN ‘College GameDay’ guest picker nominees

Actor Glen Powell served as the celebrity guest picker the last time College Gameday was at Texas.

No. 18 Texas hosts No. 4 TCU for a massive Big 12 Conference matchup on Saturday, Nov. 12. The entire college football world will have eyes on DKR for this marquee game.

The Longhorns enter looking to play spoiler to TCU’s unbeaten season. A win keeps Texas squarely in the mix to play for the Big 12 championship in December. The Horned Frogs hope to keep the magical season alive with a huge road victory over its Big 12 rival.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” crew will be on-site in Austin, Texas for a live broadcast of its weekly show. The “College GameDay” team also made the trip to Austin for Texas vs. Alabama in Week 2 of the season.

“College GameDay” airs live on ESPN from 8 a.m.-11 a.m CT on Saturday mornings.
