Caitlin Clark got the coolest surprise after being drafted with a message from Luke Combs

This was a big night for Caitlin Clark and Luke Combs fans.

Caitlin Clark finally got her chance to go pro on Monday night as she was finally picked first-overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft to the Indiana Fever.

Right after that life-changing moment, Clark got a really neat surprise as her favorite music artist, country singer Luke Combs, wished her well after being drafted by Indiana.

We’re sure that Clark was stunned by such an awesome note of encouragement from someone whose music she loves, as this has to be one of the cool perks of being a sports superstar on such a monumental night.

Maybe Combs will invite Clark to a concert sometime soon?

Luke Combs shredded the Panthers for their questionable Brian Burns trade

Luke Combs was MAD.

Luke Combs is apparently a huge Carolina Panthers fan, something I just learned about the country star who coveredĀ Fast Car thanks to a post he threw up on X (formerly Twitter) on Day 1 of NFL free agency 2024.

Combs caught wind of the Panthers dealing pass-rusher Brian Burns to the New York Giants, getting a second-rounder and a fifth in return for a player who was rumored to be worth more according to reports that the Los Angeles Rams had offered two first-rounders previously.

His tweet was fiery as he wondered: “Are we just fire bombing the whole team here or what?”

Whew!

Country music star Luke Combs blasts Panthers for Brian Burns trade

Panthers fan Luke Combs may want a ticket to anywhere . . . but Bank of America Stadium.

Luke Combs has had it.

On Monday, the Carolina Panthers parted ways with yet another marquee nameā€”trading two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Brian Burns to the New York Giants. The deal for the talented outside linebacker brought back a 2024 second-round pick, a 2024 fifth-round pick swap and a 2025 fifth-round pick.

And Combs, a well-known Panthers fan, doesn’t seem to be digging the decision . . .

The country music star also still doesn’t appear too keen on the organization’s trade of Christian McCaffrey back in 2022. That swap with the San Francisco 49ers got Carolina three picks in 2023 and one in 2024ā€”none of which were first-rounders.

While he was one of the game’s premier rushers as a Panther, McCaffrey has emerged into superstardom out westā€”as an NFC champion and the 2023 AP Offensive Player of the Year.

So if Burns achieves similar success in the Big Apple, Combs might want a ticket to anywhere but Bank of America Stadium.

Fans were elated Tracy Chapman got her flowers during the Grammy performance of Fast Car with Luke Combs

This performance was fantastic.

Legendary singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman’s beloved anthem “Fast Car” was one of the biggest songs of its time, and for good reason.

Country artist Luke Combs’ 2023 cover blew up the charts as the fresh take reminded everyone of how good the original was while putting a new, satisfying spin on it.

During Sunday’s latest Grammys ceremony, Chapman and Combs finally joined together to perform the song live, and everyone was thrilled to see this collaboration finally take place.

The two did a fantastic job of balancing out each other’s takes on the song, and everyone in the room at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles loved the performance.

All the viewers at home were thrilled to see Chapman and Combs take on the song together, as it put Chapman back in the spotlight to earn some very deserving love as her biggest hit re-entered the zeitgeist with Combs’ cover last year.

The 10 performers for the 2024 Grammys, including Travis Scott and Billie Eilish

SZA, who has the most nominations of any musician this year, is also performing.

We have seen some incredible performances (like Kendrick Lamar stealing the show in 2016) at the Grammy Awards over the years.

During the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles at Crypto.com Arena on Feb. 4, music fans will have an opportunity to see some move very special moments.

WATCH: Chiefs players enjoying Luke Combs concert at Arrowhead Stadium

From Patrick Mahomes shotgunning a beer on stage to Willie Gay Jr. singing along to “Better Together” ā€” Luke Combs’ trip to Arrowhead Stadium was a hit with the #Chiefs.

When the NFL season isn’t in session, Arrowhead Stadium is home to some of the biggest concerts and events in Kansas City.

Country artist Luke Combs was the latest to play a big show at Arrowhead over this past weekend and several members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization came out to enjoy his show. That group includes Patrick Mahomes, Creed Humphrey, Willie Gay Jr. and others.

Mahomes had a particularly exciting experience, meeting up with one of the opening acts who were from Lubbock, Texas, where he attended Texas Tech.

As the night when on, things got even better for Mahomes. He was invited on stage by Combs to shotgun a beer in front of the packed crowd at Arrowhead Stadium.

As for Willie Gay Jr., he had impeccable vibes per usual. He was spotted in a box at Arrowhead, jamming out and singing along to one of Combs’ hit songs, “Better Together.”

Needless to say, Combs was a hit in Kansas City and with the Chiefs players. He’s a surefire bet to be back the next time he goes on tour.

Dan Lanning once again throws shade at ESPN ‘College GameDay’ crew after win over Utah

Dan Lanning is a man who keeps his receipts.

It was only a couple of months ago that Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning professed his admiration for country music star Luke Combs, who was the only member of the ESPN ‘College GameDay’ crew that correctly picked Oregon to beat BYU early in the season. The shows analysts sided with the Cougars.

Lanning made it known on social media after Oregon’s dominant win that he was aware of the lack of confidence the crew had in his team, and credited Combs for staying true.

[lawrence-related id=34302]

Lanning threw similar shade on Sunday morning after the Ducks’ impressive upset win over No. 10 Utah, 20-17, on Saturday night.

As you might have guessed, the GameDay crew picked unanimously in favor of the Utes.

With the uncertainty surrounding quarterback Bo Nix’s availability heading into this game, it’s not a shock that everyone picked against the Ducks, but Oregon was able to show a lot of heart and grit in their win on Saturday night.

Let them know they were wrong, Dan. You earned it.

Luke Combs had the most savage message for Texas A&M: ‘I appreciate the million and a half dollar donation to my alma mater’

Texas A&M fans are never going to live this down.

This has been quite a rough week for Texas A&M football. Obviously, it all starts with the loss to Appalachian State that came last weekend.

A&M paid Appalachian State $1.5 million to play against them and they lost. That’s straight-up embarrassing.

But the worst part is that Appalachian State fans refuse to ever let them live it down with their wild posters. Three students even won free tuition off basically embarrassing A&M with their signs on ESPN’s College GameDay, which they also stole from the Aggies.

If all that wasn’t enough, for good measure, ESPN’s College GameDay brought on Country music singer Luke Combs to be their special guest picker and he had a message for Texas A&M that will probably leave fans seething.

The crew was picking the Texas A&M vs. Miami game and Combs said he was definitely riding with A&M. Why? Take a listen.

“Jimbo [Fischer], Texas A&M … I appreciate the million and a half dollar donation to my alma mater. I’m riding with Texas A&M at home. Let’s go, baby.”Ā

Bruuuuuuuh. That absolutely has to hurt. A&M fans have to be salty. They just have to be.

I’m sure, at this point, A&M fans want to get over the game. But at the rate we’re going? This feels like it’ll be a thing all season long. Get ready, Aggie fans. The jokes are coming.
