Alabama basketball to host College GameDay for first time

ESPN’s College GameDay is coming to Tuscaloosa as Alabama and Tennessee face off in a must-see SEC showdown!

Though ESPN’s College GameDay has been to Tuscaloosa many times for football games, it has never once been to Coleman Coliseum for the Crimson Tide basketball program. Until now.

As the program’s official social media account stated as a caption to the video announcement, “The wait is over…”

In a ranked matchup between the first and second-place SEC teams, Alabama will host Tennessee and College GameDay for a must-see showdown that will garner national attention.

Nate Oats and his team have performed at a high level as the regular season has progressed. With only a few games remaining, the Tide faces a few tough challenges, with the Vols being the biggest hurdle of them all.

Nick Saban to join ESPN’s College GameDay show

ESPN has announced that Nick Saban will be joining the College GameDay show.

It didn’t take long for legendary head coach Nick Saban to return to football.

On Wednesday, ESPN announced the addition of Saban to their College GameDay show which is about as big of an addition as you’ll find. Love him or hate him, Saban knows football and could be an excellent addition to the show.

“ESPN and College GameDay have played such an important role in the growth of college football, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to join their team,” said Saban. “I’ll do my best to offer additional insights and perspectives to contribute to College GameDay, the ultimate Saturday tradition for college football fans.”

Former Alabama football head coach Nick Saban to join ESPN’s College GameDay as an analyst.

Former Alabama football head coach Nick Saban has dabbled in the broadcasting field but never had much time to devote to it. The newly retired coach will now be a regular on ESPN’s College GameDay.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Saban would be joining the long-running college football program as an analyst, which is where he will do most of his work. However, Saban will also make appearances on the network during the annual NFL draft and SEC Media Days.

Saban has appeared on College GameDay in the past as a guest and most recently was a regular on the Pat McAfee show on the network every Thursday. His knowledge, ability to speak to a large audience and comfortableness in front of the camera will likely lead to Saban being a fan favorite (except for fans who regularly lost to him… which are a lot)

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football and Nick Saban.

With a point spread that has climbed as high as Oregon minus-18 in some places, it should come as no surprise that many of the members of the show chose the Ducks. Here’s how everyone sided when picking the games:

When it came to No. 8 Alabama vs. No. 1 Georgia, the crew was split.

ESPN ‘College GameDay’ crew picks winner between No. 6 Oregon and USC

The ESPN College GameDay crew made their picks for the game between the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans on Saturday morning.

Going into the season, almost every Oregon fan had this weekend circled on their calendars as the most likely opportunity for ESPN’s “College GameDay” to come to Eugene. The Ducks face the USC Trojans.

In the preseason, this was a top-15 matchup projected to have major Pac-12 championship and College Football Playoff ramifications.

That’s not how events have played out, though. The Trojans have struggled. USC is coming off of back-to-back losses, dropping three of their last four games. In contrast, the Ducks have flourished. They are ranked No. 6 in the nation.

So GameDay set up shop in Athens for Georgia-Ole Miss. That didn’t stop the crew from picking the Oregon-USC game on Saturday morning, though.

Here’s who everyone on the GameDay crew picked:
