Ohio State football officially signs final member of its 2024 recruiting class

Officially in the books. #GoBucks

Long gone are the days of the first Wednesday in February recruiting drama since the inceptions of the early signing period, so Ohio State didn’t have to sweat at all today.

There was just one prospect that was unsigned for the Buckeyes, in-state defensive end, [autotag]Dominic Kirks[/autotag]. Ohio State capitalized on the coaching change at Washington, as the 6-foot, 4-inch, 255-pound lineman was previously committed to the Huskies.

It was a big pick-up for the Buckeyes, as Kirks is ranked as the No. 24 defensive lineman and 162nd overall prospect according to the247Sports Composite Rankings. He makes it three players at the position for Ohio State in its 2024 class.

The collective group is one of the best in the country, ranking at the No. 5 overall call according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.

Ohio State stays hot on the recruiting trail, lands 2024 in-state defensive end

Another BOOM! for the Buckeyes as the good time continue to roll. #GoBucks

This offseason has been a massive home run for Ohio State football.

There have been major additions via the transfer portal, which include safety Caleb Downs and quarterback Will Howard. The Buckeyes fended off multiple suitors to keep the nations No. 1 propesct, wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, from flipping during the early signing period.

The good news isn’t stopping anytime soon, as the Buckeyes landed 2024 in-state defensive end, [autotag]Dominic Kirks[/autotag], on Saturday afternoon. He recently decommitted from Washington, and took an official visit to Columbus where he landed the coveted offer.

Kirks is viewed as a 4-star recruit, the No. 33 defensive lineman and 251st overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings247Sports Composite Rankings.

After seeing a few of their defensive line targets commit elsewhere, it was great to see Ohio State figuring out a way to add a quality prospect in Kirks to its 2024 recruiting class.

Michigan State football: 5 recruits in the 2024 class to monitor before the late signing period

5 recruits in the 2024 class to monitor before the late signing period:

In today’s college football, recruiting is a 24/7, all year proposition for programs and its coaches. While many know about the early signing period, that occurs in December, the late signing period in February is still an important date to monitor.

New MSU head coach Jonathan Smith has made it known that he is always looking to improve his roster, and I expect him to take advantage of this late signing period to add more talent into the 2024 recruiting class.

Check out five players that fans should monitor before the late signing period:

Following a visit, Ohio State football offers 2024 defensive end

Safe to say the official visit is going very well for the Buckeyes. #GoBucks

It may seem like a long time coming, but Ohio State has finally pulled the trigger with offering one of its remaining 2024 targets.

We reported yesterday that in-state defensive end, [autotag]Dominic Kirks,[/autotag] was on an official visit with the Buckeyes this weekend, and it seems like the trip went extremely well. Ohio State offered the former Washington commit on Sunday, on his second day of the visit.

The 6-foot, 4-inch, 255-pound end is ranked as the No. 33 defensive lineman and 251st overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. At this point, it very much looks like Kirks will stay home and be a Buckeye.

Ohio State signed 21 prospects during the early signing period, with just two of them being defensive linemen. Kirks would be a welcome addition to the Buckeye 2024 recruiting class.

Ohio State set to host recent 2024 Washington decommit this weekend

That was a quick turnaround for the Buckeyes

Although Ohio State football signed twenty-one prospects during the early signing period, they may not be done add to the 2024 recruiting class.

In-state defensive end [autotag]Dominic Kirks[/autotag] decommitted from Washington on Friday, after seeing head coach Kalen DeBoer leave to take over the Alabama program after Nick Saban retired.

The Buckeyes had been in contact with the 6-foot, 4-inch and 255-pound lineman, but he held firm in his pledge to the Huskies. That clearly has changed and the temptation to stay home and play in front of his family increased for the No. 33 defensive lineman and 251st overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

According to a report by On3, Kirks will make an official visit to Columbus starting on Saturday.

Ohio State signed just two defensive lineman, and they clearly wanted to add another. Kirks has now jumped to the top of the list.

Wisconsin offers three-star defensive lineman from Cleveland

The Badgers offered Dominic “DK” Kirks, a three-star class of 2024 defensive lineman from Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday.

The Badgers offered Dominic “DK” Kirks, a three-star defensive lineman from Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday. The 6-foot-5, 250 pound athlete still has one more season of high school football at Villa Angela-St. Joseph before he’d potentially make the jump to a college program in 2024.

Considering he’s from the state of Ohio, it doesn’t come as a surprise that coach Luke Fickell has offered him. So far, Kirks has received 12 Division 1 offers, with Wisconsin becoming the first Big Ten team to offer him.

To this point, the Badgers have yet to secure a defensive commitment for the class of 2024, but they have reeled in three offensive guys including four-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer (The Woodlands, Texas).
