Defensive end commits to Nebraska

Nebraska made a major addition to its 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon.

Nebraska made a significant addition to its 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon. The Huskers added the commitment of four-star defensive end Keona Wilhite.

Wilhite originally committed to Washington before the Cornhuskers. Reports had him leaning toward UCLA, but he’s said to have changed course after Bruins’ head coach Chip Kelly made overtures to the NFL.

As a senior, he recorded 60 tackles, 18.5 for loss, and eight sacks. He was also an AZ Preps all-region first-team and Arizona Republic honorable mention all-state.

Top uncommitted 2024 target Keona Wilhite trending towards Nebraska

One of the nation’s top uncommitted recruits is trending towards Nebraska.

One of the most watched recruitments over the last several weeks has been the recruitment of four-star defensive end Keona Wilhite. The former Washington signee was released from his letter of intent with the Huskies following the departure of Kalen DeBoer to Alabama.

Since then, the Cornhuskers, UCLA, and Michigan State have all been pushing for Wilhite extremely hard over the last few weeks, leading into this Wednesday’s National Signing Day.

With National Signing Day just a day away, the Cornhuskers appear to be trending in the right direction for Wilhite.

Recruiting insiders and experts on 247Sports, Rivals, and On3 have all submitted predictions for Wilhite to sign with the Cornhuskers on Wednesday.

Wilhite is considered a four-star prospect by Rivals and a three-star prospect by the rest of the recruiting industry. Rivals also lists Wilhite as a top-25 defensive end prospect nationally and a top-15 player in the state of Arizona.

4 recruits to pay attention to before signing day for Michigan State football

4 recruits to monitor as the late signing period approaches:

Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith has made it known that the late signing period was going to be used by Michigan State to aid their 2024 recruiting class, and they are doing just that.

There is one position group that the staff is really focused on, and that is the defensive line, pursuing multiple prospects on the defensive front.

Along with the defensive line, the Spartans picked up commitments from kicker Martin Connington and wide receiver Jaylan Brown, who are expected to sign without hiccups.

Now, all the attention turns to four prospects as the official end of the 2024 recruiting cycle nears:

Wilhite originally committed to Washington but has since decommitted and been released for his National Letter of Intent. The recruit has announced that he is now down to three schools: UCLA, Michigan State, and Nebraska.

As a senior, he recorded 60 tackles, 18.5 for loss, and eight sacks. He was also an AZ Preps all-region first-team and Arizona Republic honorable mention all-state.

Wilhite has already met with UCLA head coach Chip Kelly and Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith. Nebraska is expected to meet with the pass rusher on Friday afternoon.

Nebraska to receive visit from former Washington signee

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will be hosting a former Washington commitment in the near future.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will play host to a former Washington Huskies defensive signee in the near future.

According to Adam Gorney of Rivals, 2024 defensive end Keona Wilhite plans to visit Nebraska after he visits Michigan State this weekend. While Gorney didn’t mention Nebraska by name in his tweet, he tagged Rivals’ Nebraska team site, Inside Nebraska, and site publisher Zack Carpenter.

Wilhite is ranked by Rivals as a four-star prospect and a top-15 player in the state of Arizona. A native of Tuscon, Arizona, Wilhite also holds offers from Arizona, BYU, Colorado, Oregon State, Michigan State, UCLA and, of course, Washington.

After committing and signing with Washington, Wilhite was recently released from his letter of intent following the departure of head coach Kalen DeBoer, who took the head coaching job last week at Alabama.

The Huskers hold 28 commitments in their 2024 recruiting class, and all of them signed during the early signing period.

Michigan State football: 5 recruits in the 2024 class to monitor before the late signing period

5 recruits in the 2024 class to monitor before the late signing period:

In today’s college football, recruiting is a 24/7, all year proposition for programs and its coaches. While many know about the early signing period, that occurs in December, the late signing period in February is still an important date to monitor.

New MSU head coach Jonathan Smith has made it known that he is always looking to improve his roster, and I expect him to take advantage of this late signing period to add more talent into the 2024 recruiting class.
