Where Alabama’s non-first-rounders could end up the 2023 NFL draft

Where Alabama’s non-first-rounders could be selected in the 2023 NFL draft!

Unfortunately, the first round of the NFL draft always takes the limelight. But the truth is, the first round doesn’t provide all of the talents that NFL fans will see next season.

While the Alabama football team is expected to see as many as four first-round selections later this month, as many as nine others could hear their names called over the final six rounds of the draft.

Even though the big four in Bryce Young, Will Anderson Jr., Brian Branch, and Jahmyr Gibbs are dominating the headlines, today we will look at Alabama’s non-first-rounders and when and where they will most likely be selected.

Browns add depth and upside all over roster in 2023 NFL Mock Draft

The Browns round out their roster in this mock draft.

So far, the Cleveland Browns have upgraded several position groups with a successful and productive free agency period. The defensive line outside of Myles Garrett was a mess and the team has improved that group with Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and Dalvin Tomlinson.

The team attacked the wide receiver room adding a dynamic playmaker in Elijah Moore and signing veteran speedster Marquise Goodwin. These moves have given the team tremendous flexibility in the draft allowing them to take the best player available for a majority of the rounds. The team could use some rotational pieces here and there but this year’s draft should be about the future.

Let’s take a look at what I think the team could do using this drafting philosophy at the end of the month.

13 Alabama players invited to 2023 NFL Scouting Combine

Roll Tide Wire takes a look at the 13 Alabama players that were recently invited to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. The combine will last from Feb. 28-March 3.

The Alabama football program will be well-represented at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine. 13 Alabama players will be present at the combine which is scheduled to last from Feb. 28 to March 3. The event will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Nick Saban and his coaching staff work hard to develop players into better young men on and off the field. It has proven to work out for most as his former players have made it to the league or taken on other occupations outside of the football realm.

[autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and Alabama will have a total of six former players competing throughout the week.

Each of Alabama’s prospects has a great deal to prove if they want to see their NFL draft stock rise because there is no “super-stars” among the group.

This will be the last time we will see these six former Tide players wearing the famous crimson helmets before they move on to, hopefully, the NFL.

Let’s take a quick look at the six former Alabama players competing in this year’s Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Alabama defensive lineman DJ Dale officially declares for 2023 NFL draft

Alabama defensive lineman DJ Dale has officially declared for the 2023 NFL draft.

Alabama defensive lineman DJ Dale announced that he was entering the 2023 NFL draft on Thursday. He posted the news to his Instagram account.

Dale was a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide. He spent a total of four seasons in Tuscaloosa and was very impactful along the defensive front. The Alabama native tallied 71 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks with the Tide.

Dale could have returned for a fifth season with the NCAA granting a COVID season to college athletes during the 2020 season. However, he will instead be heading to play at the next level. He will play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl before likely participating in the NFL Combine.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Dale’s career as well as other Alabama football players leaving for the NFL.

DJ Dale, Jase McClellan comment on the mindset of the team ahead of Allstate Sugar Bowl

DJ Dale and Jase McClellan comment on the mindset of the team heading into Saturday’s Allstate Sugar Bowl against Kansas State.

The Alabama Crimson Tide football team landed in New Orleans on Monday to continue their preparation for the Kansas State Wildcats in Saturday’s Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Not only did Crimson Tide head coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] take time to speak with members of the media, but so did a couple of members of the football team.

Senior defensive lineman [autotag]DJ Dale[/autotag] and junior running back [autotag]Jase McClellan[/autotag] each took a few moments to talk about the Crimson Tide football team as they crash the Big Easy for their bowl game.

Both players would comment on the mindset of the team entering Saturday’s matchup and much more.

Updated list of Alabama players who have accepted invites to the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl

Alabama is once again sending several players down to Mobile to participate in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

As college football fans await the start of bowl season and the College Football Playoff, players from around the country begin to make decisions on their future.

For younger players that could mean entering the transfer portal, but for the seniors, their college careers are nearing an end. Fortunately, the Reese’s Senior Bowl provides an opportunity for some of those seniors to hit the gridiron once more donning their college helmets before moving on to the NFL and beyond.

Like most years, the Alabama Crimson Tide will be sending several players to Mobile, Ala. to compete.

Here is an updated list of every Alabama player that has accepted an invite to the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Alabama DL, DJ Dale, headed to the senior bowl

Senior Bowl picks up third Tide player to participate

DJ Dale has officially accepted his invite to the Senior Bowl this year according to NFL scout Jim Nagy on his show today. Dale joins his former Alabama Crimson Tide teammates Emil Ekiyor Jr. and Byron Young in the game.

Dale has been a three-year starter on the defensive line for Alabama and he will surely be missed. However, his intangibles and leadership qualities make him such an interesting prospect.

All four years Dale’s statistics have remained pretty consistent with his junior year likely being his best campaign. This past season, Dale posted 16 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and one fumble recovery.

The senior bowl will be an outstanding opportunity for Dale to showcase his skills and hopefully sneak into day two of the NFL draft.

Projecting Alabama’s depth along the defensive line entering the 2022 season

Despite not having a proven star, Alabama has plenty of depth along the defensive line entering the 2022 season.

Football is back, Tide fans! Alabama will kick the 2022 football season off in one week and the anticipation continues to mount.

As is the case in most seasons, questions regarding the starting lineup for week one are dominating message boards and Twitter threads. Well, with the season just around the corner, I thought I would start dropping my educated projections of who you might see take the first snaps at each position group.

Some groups are obvious such as quarterback and linebacker, but nevertheless, we will take a look at each group and give a little insight into who you might see take the field against Utah State on Sept. 3.

Today we are going to take a look at a group that has plenty of depth but maybe lacks a bit of star power at the moment: the defensive line.

This list will be a touch different because I believe you are going to see several different packages on the defensive line for Alabama, so I will simply list all of the players who I project to have significant playing time.

Let’s roll!
