The Philadelphia Eagles selected Alabama offensive tackle Tyler Steen with the No. 65 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Steen began his college career at Vanderbilt. There, he spent four seasons before ultimately transferring to Alabama for his final season of eligibility.

The Florida native was a staple at left tackle for the Crimson Tide in 2022. He made 13 starts and received second-team All-SEC recognition. He was a key blocker for the Crimson Tide as he accumulated 25 pancake blocks for the Crimson Tide last season.

The San Francisco 49ers chose Alabama tight end Cameron Latu with the No. 101 overall pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Many were expecting Latu to be a Day 3 pick. However, the 49ers were impressed enough to pick the Utah native right before the end of the third round on Day 2.

Latu has the skillset to be productive at the professional level. He is 6-foot-5, 244 pounds and uses his frame as his strength. Latu made strides in the last two seasons at Alabama as both a blocking and receiving tight end.

Cincinnati Bengals select Jordan Battle No. 95 overall in the 2023 NFL draft

The Cincinnati Bengals chose Alabama safety Jordan Battle with the No. 95 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

With the No. 95 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Alabama safety Jordan Battle.

Battle spent four seasons at Alabama. He started at free safety for Alabama since his sophomore season in 2020. Battle recorded 252 tackles, 10 pass deflections, and six interceptions.

Following his senior season, Battle was listed as a first team All-SEC honoree by coaches across the league. He was also named to the watch list for significant awards like the Bednarik Award, Nagurski Award, and Jim Thorpe Award.

Battle can cover a lot of ground in the secondary and will likely have a chance to play early on in Cincinnati. With the Bengals losing Jessie Bates in free agency, the addition of Battle should really help on the back end of their defense.

The Detroit Lions select DB Brian Branch in the second round with the No. 45 overall pick!

Former Alabama defensive back Brian Branch has been selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round with the No. 45 overall pick.

Branch spent three seasons in Tuscaloosa playing both cornerback and safety. He started at the STAR postion for the Crimson Tide last season. As a junior, he tallied 90 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and seven pass deflections.

He has the ability to play anywhere in the secondary and will likely play a key role in Detroit.

Branch is the second Alabama player to be selected by the Lions in this draft, with running back Jahmyr Gibbs being selected No. 12 overall in the first round.

The Alabama football program seems to always have some of the top prospects enter the draft year in and year out. Thus far, three Alabama players have heard their names called. Bryce Young was chosen No. 1 overall by the Carolina Panthers. Will Anderson was taken at No. 3 by the Houston Texans. Jahmyr Gibbs skyrocketed up the draft and was selected at No. 12 by the Detroit Lions.

With numerous Alabama prospects undrafted, there will likely be a handful of them chosen on Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Will Anderson selected No. 3 overall in the 2023 NFL draft by the Houston Texans

The Houston Texans selected Alabama’s Will Anderson Jr. with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft!

Alabama’s Will Anderson Jr. has been selected with the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NFL draft by the Houston Texans.

The Crimson Tide had two of the top three picks in this year’s draft. Bryce Young went No. 1.

Anderson was a dominating force for the Alabama defense for three seasons and finished his Tide career with the second-most sacks in program history behind NFL Hall of Famer Derrick Thomas.

As Anderson makes his way to Houston, he will play for a former Alabama legend and now Texans head coach, DeMeco Ryans.

Anderson will surely have a very productive NFL career for the next decade.

Unfortunately, the first round of the NFL draft always takes the limelight. But the truth is, the first round doesn’t provide all of the talents that NFL fans will see next season.
