David Pollacks names his dudes of college football Week 2

Former Georgia Bulldog standout defensive end David Pollack names his players of the week for Week 2

Former Georgia Bulldog standout defensive end David Pollack is not working with ESPN’s “College GameDay” this year. However, he is still paying a lot of attention to college football.

After every week of the college football season, David Pollack is naming five players that made him say dude! Or wow!

Week 2 featured Texas’ upset over Alabama, Oregon winning a close one over Texas Tech, and Miami’s home win over Texas A&M.

Who are David Pollack’s dudes of college football Week 2?

David Pollack apparently ‘can’t trust A&M’ ahead of the 2023 CFB Season

David Pollack has joined the media chorus who have bought into the “toxic culture” theory surrounding Texas A&M’s football program.

It’s never a surprise when major media members, especially in the college football realm, fail to do even the bare minimum of research required to truly grasp the state of a program outside of headline-grasping puff pieces.

On Monday, former College Gameday host David Pollack appeared on Always College Football with host Greg McElroy. Before he could breathe, the former standout Georgia linebacker went full throttle on the Aggies’ “culture” issues.

“I can’t trust A&M the way the culture is so bad when you’re literally bringing all those 5 stars and all those guys have such a great class and your culture can’t accept it, that says something about your culture,” Pollack stated.

Entering his sixth season with Texas A&M, Head Coach Jimbo Fisher is no stranger to constant criticism, and after the Aggies’ ugly 5-7 (2-6 SEC) 2022 season, much of said critique has been warranted. But let’s be honest; Pollack is likely referencing the overhyped transfer portal “mass exodus” the program witnessed during the early portion of the offseason, combined with the off-the-field incidents involving former WR Chris Marshall and former defensive backs Denver Harris and Smoke Bouie, two of which have already departed their transfer destinations.

However, things seem to be on the upswing ahead of the pivotal 2023 campaign, as new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino’s potentially massive impact on what is an already stacked offense (on paper, at least) has all the makings of a rebound season. Yes, David, Petrino will call the plays no matter how cryptic Fisher’s answers have been during most of Talkin’ season.

“I don’t trust the offense and the structure and what they are until you show me, especially with the culture,” Pollack stated.

If focusing on the program’s culture is the central talking point, Texas A&M’s 2023 roster is chock-full of proven leaders on both sides of the ball, including Ainias Smith, Demani Richardson, Layden Robinson, and McKinnley Jackson, and to quote sophomore defensive back, Bryce Anderson, this team’s mindset is on a whole other level in 2023.

“Cause I feel like that team is committed… like last year some of the young guys wer kind of like ‘loose in the ehad’ they weren’t really focused. But I feel this uear, we coming out, everybodoys’ ready to practice, everybody wants to practice like it’s a whole different mindset this year.”

Texas A&M opens its season on Saturday, Sept. 2, against New Mexico, which will air on ESPN at 6:00 p.m. CT.

UGA, CFB community rallies around David Pollack after ESPN layoff

ESPN’s “College GameDay” will no longer feature former UGA legend David Pollack

ESPN recently laid off a number of reporters, analysts, and commentators in an effort to cut costs. Included in the layoffs is former Georgia Bulldog legend David Pollack.

David Pollack began working on ESPN’s “College GameDay” in 2011. He served as a college football analyst and was an excellent personality for the network.

Pollack will certainly land on his feet. He has a lot of talent and got a bunch of exposure during his time with ESPN.

One sweet memory David Pollack will have is that the final college football game he covered at ESPN was a 65-7 national championship victory win for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Much of the college football community was not happy with David Pollack leaving ESPN.

David Pollack: ‘Not a chance’ that Texas football wins the Big 12

ESPN analyst David Pollack does not believe Texas will win the Big 12.

ESPN college football analyst David Pollack doesn’t like the Texas Longhorns’ prospects to win the Big 12. When asked if the team would take home the conference crown in 2023, Pollack emphatically refuted the idea.

It’s not the first time the former Georgia defensive lineman has doubted the Longhorns and almost certainly won’t be the last. Last fall ahead of the Alabama game, Pollack had the following to say about the team.

“They’re gonna get smoked today. Absolutely smoked. Alabama is the best team in the country for a reason. Texas, just try to hold on, try to stay healthy. Have a fun rest of the year, but you ain’t winning today.”

Texas didn’t exactly get smoked. Alabama won on a late field goal. Nevertheless, until the team lives up to expectations, the national talking point will be that the Longhorns continue to underwhelm.

Despite past failures, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian leads the prohibitive favorite to win the conference. Unlike past teams, the depth of talent is not lacking at receiver. Offensive line coach Kyle Flood has perhaps the program’s best offensive line since Colt McCoy’s freshman season, led by an All-American left tackle candidate in Kelvin Banks. Over the spring, quarterback Quinn Ewers looks more like the player who had Alabama on the ropes in 2022.

On the other side, coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski’s defense has finally put it all together. We’ll have a better idea of how high the team can climb after they face the Crimson Tide. Nevertheless, in regard to Texas winning the Big 12, there is certainly a chance.

CFB analyst believes Alabama could reclaim ‘King of CFB’ title in 2023

Can Alabama bounce back in a big way in the 2023 season? One analyst thinks it’s likely to happen.

Alabama is still a premier program in all of college football, despite Georgia winning back-to-back national championships the last two seasons. Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide had a disappointing season in 2022, but would still be a historically successful year for most programs across the country.

ESPN’s David Pollack, who played college football at Georgia, argues Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are making a push to reclaim that top spot.

“We all know that Georgia Football is the King of CFB right now but Alabama is dang sure trying to change that. Signed #1 recruiting class,” said Pollack in a recent tweet. “New DC coming soon. Upgraded their OC today to Tommy Rees. Legit stud play caller!”

There are still a lot of questions regarding the roster and how the starting offensive and defensive units will look, but there’s an entire offseason remaining to figure that out. Not to mention, Saban doesn’t disclose all too much information if he doesn’t need to.

Every team begins the 2023 season with a clean 0-0 record. Alabama will begin its journey to return to the College Football Playoff with a home contest against Middle Tennessee on Sept. 2

CFB analyst says Georgia is the premier program while sitting next to Nick Saban

Nick Saban didn’t look too happy when he heard this.

Nick Saban was in Los Angeles for the College Football Playoff national championship game, but not as a coach. His team stayed behind in Tuscaloosa and Saban traded the headset for a blazer and served as an analyst on ESPN’s broadcast of the game.

At halftime, Georgia was up by over 30 points against TCU and the game might as well have been called there. The analysts discussed how the Horned Frogs could stay in the game, but David Pollack, former Georgia linebacker, voiced his opinion on which team now reigns supreme over all of college football.

Pollack stated that “Georgia has taken over college football.”

While it’s not necessarily an incorrect statement, the circumstances surrounding when and where he said it are drawing people’s attention.

He was sitting right next to Nick Saban, who had a bit of an uncomfortable look on his face when Pollack said it.

Roll Tide Wire will continue t follow Alabama football as the 2023 offseason gets underway.

Nick Saban had a priceless reaction to ESPN’s David Pollack raving about Georgia’s dominance

Oh, Nick.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban might be second-guessing his decision to appear on ESPN’s broadcast of the College Football Playoff National Championship between Georgia and TCU.

With the Bulldogs absolutely dominating the Horned Frogs in the first half, ESPN analyst and former Georgia linebacker David Pollack spoke to how the game was signaling a major shift in the college football world.

“They’ve taken a hold of college football,” Pollack said of his alma mater.

However, it’s who he said it right in front of that is just hilarious. Saban was looking right at Pollack as he dropped that inevitable truth bomb.

Judging by Saban’s reaction, a little bit of his soul died right at the broadcasting table.

Yowza. While Saban has enjoyed one of the best runs of any college football coach in history with Alabama, he’s now watching his old defensive coordinator, Kirby Smart, build his own dynasty at Georgia.

It can’t be easy to see a changing of the guard in your own conference, but Saban has plenty to lean on for what he’s accomplished. Everybody has to eat a slice of humble pie eventually.

ESPN’s College GameDay selects winner of Ohio State vs Georgia and the other College Football Playoff game

Who do you think wins today? #GoBucks

The Buckeyes and Bulldogs will have to wait until prime time for them to find out who will play for a National Championship in about two weeks. ESPN’s College GameDay had a choice between the two semi-final games and chose Ohio State taking on Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

It was an expanded crew selecting the games as David Pollack, Jesse Palmer and Joey Galloway joined Desmond Howard, Lee Corso Pat McAfee and Kirk Herbstreit in selecting who will win the College Football Playoff games this afternoon. Find out below who picked who to win the biggest games of this season starting off with the OSU and UGA matchup. (Herbstreit did not pick this game due to calling it.)

Former Georgia Bulldog David Pollack comments on Ohio State’s firepower ahead of Peach Bowl

Pollack on CJ Stroud and Marvin Harrison Jr.

No. 1 Georgia (13-0) versus Ohio State (11-1) in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta on Saturday night.

Bulldog great and ESPN analyst, David Pollack, commented on the Buckeyes firepower, citing quarterback C.J. Stroud and receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. as ‘the best in college football’.

Stroud and Harrison have been dynamic this season, connecting for 72 passes for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Bulldogs were able to shutdown some of the top passing offenses in college football this season in wins over Oregon and Tennessee.

LSU, playing from behind, was able to fine passing lanes against Georgia in the SEC Championship putting up 502 yards passing.

UGA’s secondary will have to execute to stop the Buckeye’s passing offense, which sits at No. 14 in the country averaging 294 yards per game.

One ESPN analyst thinks Lane Kiffin will take the Auburn job

The GameDay host thinks some of Kiffin’s phrasing in his committals to Ole Miss doesn’t necessarily mean he will stay in Oxford.

The drama surrounding Ole Miss head coach and potential Auburn candidate [autotag]Lane Kiffin[/autotag] has certainly sparked commentary from all corners of the college football world, and an SEC legend gave his own take on Wednesday.

Former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker and current ESPN GameDay host David Pollack joined host Dan Patrick on the Dan Patrick show to discuss Lane Kiffin’s treatment of the rumor surrounding him — and he believes that those rumors may become reality sooner than later.

“I think he’s going to,” Pollack said. “I think what he said specifically was, ‘I haven’t taken the Auburn job yet, I’m not going to step down and take the Auburn job.’ I don’t know that he said, ‘I’m not taking the Auburn job, period, I’m not in the mix.'”

The former linebacker also gave his opinions on why Auburn would do well to hire the current coach of the Rebels.

“I think for Auburn, it would be a really good hire,” Pollack said. “Auburn did something last time, they went outside of the league and got Bryan Harsin. I don’t think Auburn is doing that again.”

Pollack called Auburn “the best job on the market” and said that any talented coach could take advantage of an aging Nick Saban to possibly cement their legacy in the SEC for years to come.

Kiffin wasn’t the only coach mentioned in the interview, however. Pollard also brought up Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders, who could still be looking for a major jump despite reports saying otherwise.

“Deion wants the job. Deion definitely wants the job,” Pollack said. “I’ll tell you what, I think Deion is a problem for people… Deion’s got competitive toughness.”

In the meantime, interim coach Cadillac Williams will helm the ship when Auburn takes on the Alabama Crimson Tide for what could be the last game it plays this season if it does not win and become bowl eligible.
