Bills next few games could be moved after more Titans COVID positives

Buffalo Bills latest schedule updates with the Titans and Chiefs.

It’s Thursday and typically we’re in the heart of looking at the Buffalo Bills’ next upcoming opponent. Instead, because of the Tennessee Titans’ troubles with COVID-19, it’s not so clear what’s going on.

As of Thursday, the Titans had two more people in their organization test positive for coronavirus after two more confirmed positive reports on Wednesday. Sunday’s originally scheduled game is now certainly in doubt, and it’s hard to envision it taking place.

So what’s the NFL to do? ESPN’s Diana Russini reported on one possible solution which could move Buffalo’s next two games from their initially scheduled time. Instead of Buffalo visiting the Titans on Sunday, that game could be moved to this upcoming Monday or Tuesday to give Tennessee more time to rid their clubhouse of coronavirus.

But after that, the Bills were scheduled to work again on Thursday as the Kansas City Chiefs were slated to head to Buffalo for a Thursday Night Football meeting. Instead of that game happening on Oct. 15, it’d be moved to Oct. 18 on Saturday.

Stay tuned to Bills Wire for the latest news on what could happen to the team’s upcoming schedule.

The Tigers are the No. 1 team in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports. The Hurricanes are ranked 7th.

Miami at Clemson: Betting odds and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 10:45 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Clemson -556 (bet $556 to win $100) | Miami +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Clemson -14 (-110) | Miami +14 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 62.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Miami at Clemson: Three things to know

  1. Is ‘The U’ back? We’ll see. This will be a huge measuring stick game to show how they stack up on the national stage. New offensive coordinate Rhett Lashlee’s spread offense, the first time it’s been used in school history, has been a rousing success, but that’s against UAB, Louisville and a beat-up Florida State, not exactly a murderer’s row.
  2. Miami is averaging 43.3 points per game to rank seventh in the country, and 12th in total yards per game with 498.0. While former Houston QB D’Eriq King has been a good fit, the run game has flown a bit under the radar, gobbling up 232.3 yards per game to check in 12th in the nation.
  3. Clemson has been here before. A big game under the lights on the national stage. It won’t be too big, especially without a raucous crowd backing them. Head coach Dabo Swinney’s bunch has been just a tick off so far, going 3-0 SU, but 0-3 ATS. Still, they’re averaging a robust 42.3 PPG and allowing just 12.0 PPG.

Miami at Clemson: Odds, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Clemson 37, Miami 27

Money line (ML)

This is a big game for Miami (+400), but I wouldn’t suggest taking them to win outright. On the flip side, taking Clemson (-556) while laying more than five and a half times your potential return is just foolish wagering. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

MIAMI +14 (-110) has been desperate to get back onto the national stage and have a marquee game for a long time. While it’s 2020, and a reduced capacity in Clemson -14 (-110) will take a little luster off of this primetime game, the Hurricanes will re-introduce themselves to the nation and stay close throughout. Miami has a balanced offense, and it might be one of the better ones Clemson sees all season.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 62.5 (-110) is only worth a small-unit play, and it will likely take a late score to see this thing through. Clemson’s defense has been stout, but Miami should be able to do things Wake Forest, The Citadel and Virginia weren’t able to accomplish.

DFS Fantasy Football: Favorite Pro Plays – Week 5

WinDailySports’ CEO Jason Mezrahi checks in with his top Week 5 DFS fantasy football for FanDuel and DraftKings

Top-ranked daily fantasy sports pro Jason Mezrahi, founder and CEO of WinDailySports.com, breaks down his favorite DFS plays at various salary ranges for Week 5 of the NFL season.

Even though we have had great results in picking top DFS plays in this article every week, I’m going to let you in on a little secret: Our projection model at WinDailySports.com has been firing on all cylinders for the first three weeks so what I will do in this article is list some of our highest projected players based off raw points and our highest point per dollar plays based on DraftKings.com pricing.

These are some of the players Jason will be locking in his lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel for this weekend’s slate.

QUARTERBACKS

DESHAUN WATSON, HOU

$6,900 DRAFTKINGS, $7,900 FANDUEL

We can no longer use the Bill O’Brien excuse in Houston. The man is finally gone and I personally can’t wait for Adam Gase to be dealt the same fate. We can only hope Watson can get back on track this week and come out of the gate with something to prove. Watson has been good but not great to start this year. His schedule had a very tough start with matchups against the Chiefs, Ravens and Steelers. The good news is Will Fuller is still healthy and the Jaguars rank 20th against opposing quarterbacks and allow 261 yards passing per game. Coming off a 300-yard, 2-touchdown game should provide some confidence in rostering Watson in Week 5.

Watson provides a safe floor at his price tag and is one of the best values on the entire slate. Vegas has the Texans putting up 30 points and without a elite running game most of those points should be rolling through Watson. We have him only a couple points behind Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen on our projection models currently but, given the discount, we love the value he provides.

MATT RYAN, ATL

$6,100 DRAFTKINGS, $7,700 FANDUEL

The Falcons are struggling mightily and confidence is at a all time low in Atlanta. Ryan is more of a DraftKings only play for me, where I want to price enforce the $6,100 cost for a quarterback with one of the best matchups on the board. If Vegas is right and the Falcons put up 28 points, we can hope that Matt Ryan puts up 3-4 touchdowns in this matchup.

We have to look out for the status of Julio Jones, if he is out I may lower my exposure to Ryan and bump up my exposure to Calvin Ridley and the rest of the receiving core. If Jones is out feel free to pivot down to Daniel Jones or up to Mahomes, Prescott or Jackson in Week 5.

RUNNING BACKS

MIKE DAVIS, CAR

$6,400 DRAFTKINGS, $6,800 FANDUEL

I never would have thought I would be highlighting the two running backs I am about to dive into but here we are in Week 5 of 2020.

I saw a great tweet this past week that read “We are heading into the 4th quarter of 2020, lets hope we are playing the Atlanta Falcons”

Davis and the Panthers are playing the Falcons and you best believe he is salivating due to the opportunity they present. With two touchdowns in his past two games since he took over for Christian McCaffrey, Mike Davis is now a stable force in the Carolina backfield. He has produced over 22 DraftKings points in his past 2 games and now gets the dream matchup versus the Falcons, who cant stop a nose bleed. He might be highly owned but take the 20+ points and lock in Davis in Week 5.

JERICK MCKINNON, SF

$5,800 DRAFTKINGS, $6,400 FANDUEL

McKinnon dominated the backfield touches in Week 4 and has produced in each and every week of this season. This trend should continue in Week 5 with a matchup versus Miami, who rank 19th against opposing running backs.

McKinnon scored a touchdown in each of the four games this season and has averaged 16.6 DraftKings points. It looks like its McKinnon’s backfield after he received 14 of the 17 rushing attempts and also had 9 targets in the passing game. If Mostert is still out in Week 5, look McKinnon’s way and lock in the value in order to pay up at other spots.

WIDE RECEIVERS

DARIUS SLAYTON, NYG

$4,800 DRAFTKINGS, $5,800 FANDUEL

I told myself that I am done rostering any players from the Jets or the Giants for the rest of the season and then I witnessed again how bad the Cowboys defense truly is.

If the Browns can score 49, the Giants should score at least 24 right?

This is truly a play on the Cowboys defense and not the Giants offense. Lets look at what the Cowboys have allowed as far as scoring this year. Here are the game totals: 20, 39, 38 and 49. The targets for Slayton have been there each and every week, but the production has yet to follow. At $4,900 versus this Cowboy defense I am willing to take the calculated risk on Slayton or Evan Engram, who I will mention later in this article.

ROBBIE ANDERSON, CAR

$5,900 DRAFTKINGS, $6,200 FANDUEL

Leading into this season and every week so far to start the season all the hype has been on DJ Moore. The outcome has not lived up to the hype and each and every week the production has been gobbled up by Robbie Anderson.

Averaging 19.7 points on the season, its been obvious to me that Robbie is the No. 1 receiver in this offense and has out-targeted Moore 34-32 with a way higher catch rate. With two 100 yard games (and a 99 yarder), there is a clear rapport with Teddy Bridgewater. He has been a fantasy darling all year and I expect that trend to continue with his plus-matchup against the Falcons in Week 5.

TIGHT ENDS

GEORGE KITTLE, SF

$6,600 DRAFTKINGS, $7,100 FANDUEL

The George Kittle breakout game finally came in Week 4. Kittle is absolute beast and I wouldn’t want to step in his path once he got the ball in his hands, because his goal is to hurt someone.

Coming off a 15-reception, 183-yard game, ownership maybe high, but with all the value on the slate I think this is the week to pay up at tight end and lock in some points. I am fine with either paying up for Kittle or Mark Andrews and avoiding any potential land mines at the value tight end spots.

EVAN ENGRAM, NYG

$4,400 DRAFTKINGS, $5,500 FANDUEL

I don’t like suggesting New York Giants players, but when I do they will be playing against the Dallas Cowboys. Do I have to remind you how bad this defense is? Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry were dropping dimes all over this defense last week as crazy as that sounds.

The Cowboys defense is terrible and their offense is good/potentially great. Which means the Cowboys should open the game up with the lead, allowing the Giants to play catch up the entire game. Engram’s production has seen an uptick lately and he is the best value at the position so lock him in and lets be present for his breakout performance.

DEFENSES

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

$4,200 DRAFTKINGS, $4,800 FANDUEL

How good is Bill Belichick? He is the best in the business and almost beat Patrick Mahomes with a combination of Brian Hoyer and some leftover scraps on offense. There hasn’t been a better coach in my lifetime and he is a defensive wizard who finds ways to disrupt the entire game plan of the opposing offense.

Give Belichick a young quarterback on the opposite side of the field and watch him dismantle their scheme and cause turnovers galore. If you have the cash to spend up at defense, roster Belichick and the Patriots.

HOUSTON TEXANS

$2,600 DRAFTKINGS, $3,700 FANDUEL

We can only hope that the Texans come together and play some inspired ball and cause some havoc for Gardner Minshew and the Jaguars. They are the cheapest defense I am willing to roster. Minshew will make mistakes and cough up the ball Sunday. With 10 sacks on the season, we can hope for 2-4 sacks, 1-2 turnovers and for the Texans to finally win a game and control some clock late. Their defense has been bad to start the year, but their schedule hasn’t been easy. Look for a bounce back performance out of the Texans at home in Week 5.

Report: Gerald Green hopes to re-sign with Rockets this offseason

Green has been training privately in Houston as he ramps up his recovery from a broken foot, according to Kelly Iko of The Athletic.

Native Houstonian and NBA veteran Gerald Green hopes to re-sign with the Rockets this offseason, per Kelly Iko of The Athletic.

In his latest offseason notebook, Iko writes:

Free agent Gerald Green has been training privately in Houston as he ramps up his recovery, in hopes of a Rockets return, league sources told The Athletic. It’s been over a year since Green last played an NBA game, missing the entire season with a broken foot before being included in the multi-team trade that sent Robert Covington to Houston. Green was waived by the Denver Nuggets and has remained in Houston ever since February.

Known best for his 3-point shooting, Green hasn’t played in the NBA since injuring his foot last preseason. The 34-year-old fan favorite then had season-ending surgery last October, and he was traded for salary reasons in the blockbuster deal that brought Covington to Houston.

In two seasons with his hometown team from 2017 through 2019, the 6-foot-6 reserve swingman averaged 10.3 points (36.0% on 3-pointers) in 21.1 minutes per game. Among Houston’s rotation players in the 2019-20 season, only Ben McLemore (40.0%) and Danuel House Jr. (36.3%) shot a higher clip than that from 3-point range.

Ryan Day ranked in top ten of college football coaches according to 247Sports

See where Ohio State Football Coach, Ryan Day is ranked in the 247 Sports top 50 current college football coaches.

Rankings. It’s all about opinions and you know what they say about opinions… everybody’s got one and they all stink. Unless it’s your opinion of course. But this is part of what makes college football so fun.

247 Sports recently released their top 50 current college football coaches. On the list were the usual suspects with Alabama’s Nick Saban coming in at No. 1 followed by Dabo Swinney of Clemson at No. 2.

But what about Ohio State Football head coach, Ryan Day. Where did he fall on the 247Sports list? With only 17 games as a head coach, Day lands on the list at a respectable No. 6 ranking and was the highest-rated head coach from the Big Ten Conference. After Day was Penn State’s James Franklin at No. 10, Jim Harbaugh at TTUN at No. 12, and Wisconsin’s Paul Chryst at No. 14.

There is more than enough room to debate the three coaches between Swinney and Day… Coming in at No. 3 was Ed Orgeron, which I suppose comes from a “what have you done for me lately” national championship last year at LSU. Before that nobody thought Coach O was a great coach, including LSU who almost let him go.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day says many sacrifices being made for season

At No. 4 was Kirby Smart which seems to be getting a boost from playing in the SEC, but Smart has some curious losses during his tenure at Georgia.

And finally, Jimbo Fisher was just ahead of Ryan Day at No. 5? Jimbo Fisher? Outside of a national championship at Florida State, it seems Fisher is getting paid an awful lot of money for mediocre results at Texas A&M. But hey, maybe there’s something to be said for longevity.

Day was the least experienced head coach on this list, so a No. 6 ranking seems to be fair. Maybe with a national championship in 2020, he’ll move up that ranking.

If you’re interested in more, Joel Ryan of 247Sports takes these rankings all the way through the top 50.

Texas loses commitment from coveted 2021 recruit Billy Bowman, holds Oklahoma offer

Could Oklahoma backdoor itself into one of the best players in the 2021 class? Longtime Texas commitment Billy Bowman is now on the market.

Could Oklahoma backdoor itself into one of the best players in the 2021 recruiting class?

Denton, Texas, native Billy Boman grew up a Texas fan and has been committed to the Longhorns for a long, long time. The wide receiver and defensive back is rated as the 34th best player in the country according to Rivals.

Oklahoma showed up in the picture late, offering in July of this year. However, offering at that time could have paid off.

Bowman de-committed from Texas on Wednesday night.

The coveted Texas high school football recruit holds offers from the whose who of college football. Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Oregon and Penn State have all thrown their hats in the ring.

Oklahoma, though, may have a trick up its sleeve. Bowman’s girlfriend, Jayda Coleman, is one of the best softball players in the country. She won the Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year for 2019-20 and will play for Patty Gasso and Oklahoma softball in 2020-21.

Bowman plays both sides of the ball, so it’s unclear where Oklahoma sees him at. Regardless, he is one of the best talents in the 2021 recruiting class and a guy the Sooners could desperately use regardless if it’s on offense or defense.

Oklahoma has four defensive backs committed for the 2021 recruiting class and three wide receivers. The Sooners could take a recruit at either place.

Chargers open up as 8-point underdogs vs. Saints in Week 5

The Los Angeles Chargers are being viewed as underdogs heading into their matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

The Los Angeles Chargers (1-3) have opened up as 8-point underdogs to the New Orleans Saints in Week 5 of the 2020 regular season, per BetMGM.

The Chargers dropped their third consecutive game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend, 38-31.

The Bolts had momentum riding their way during the first half, led by the performance of quarterback Justin Herbert. But it slipped as QB Tom Brady and company torched L.A.’s defense in the second half.

Meanwhile, the Saints took care of business against the Detroit Lions, 35-29. After being down 14 points to start the contest, New Orleans scored five straight touchdowns, including two by wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith.

Monday’s matchup will begin at 5:20 p.m. PT and will be televised on ESPN.

Raiders OL Rodney Hudson named among top linemen in the NFL

Raiders OL Rodney Hudson named among top linemen in the NFL

In the first four games of the season, the Raiders have used multiple offensive line combinations. With players like Trent Brown, Richie Incognito and Sam Young in and out of the lineup, there hasn’t been much stability upfront for the Raiders.

However, the one player that has continued to dominate in every contest is center Rodney Hudson. While he might not be playing quite as well as he did last season, he is still among the league’s best offensive linemen.

In a recent article by Pro Football Focus, they named the top-50 linemen (both offensive and defensive) in the NFL through the first four games. Not surprisingly, Hudson made the list. Take a look at their thoughts on the team’s Pro Bowl center:

“Hudson is the league’s best pass-protecting center, and it isn’t particularly close. If you look at the five highest PFF single-season pass-blocking grades at the position over the past five seasons, he owns all five of the top slots. He is a bit off that pace through the first four weeks of the 2020 season, but it would be a safe bet to say Hudson will once again finish this season with one of the best pass-blocking grades at the position.”

Hudson continues to build don his strong resume and is a good bet to make his fourth Pro Bowl in five seasons. Look for him to continue to dominate inside and be a stabilizing force for the Raiders despite all of their injuries.
