Rutgers football recruiting: Bergen Catholic’s Kaj Sanders launches his own NFT

Bergen Catholic’s Kaj Sanders launches his own NFT.

On Tuesday, one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 entered the digital trading space. New Jersey defensive back Kaj Sanders now has an NFT trading card.

It is an incredibly creative way for an athlete to make money utilizing Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).

For those not familiar with the concept, an NFT trading card is “created by taking a digital file and converting it into a cryptocurrency token that exists on a blockchain — a public ledger on which transactions are recorded.”

The NFT created by Sanders is hosted by VerifiedInk.

Sanders, a junior at Bergen Catholic, is one of the top recruits in New Jersey. A four-star according to the 247Sports Composite, Sanders holds Power Five offers from programs like Boston College, Louisville, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, West Virginia and Wisconsin among others.

Rutgers football recruiting: Malvern Prep standout Cameron Brickle II drops his freshman highlights

Rutgers football recruit Cameron Malvern II releases his freshman highlights.

As college football programs continue to build their 2026 class, one name that has become popular is Cameron Brickle II. The Pennsylvania defensive lineman has terrorized opposing offenses and had 22 tackles through his first six games.

Due to his stellar play at Malvern Prep (Malvern, PA), the Pennsylvania native is receiving no shortage of interest. According to On3, the schools that have already sent offers includes Rutgers, Boston College, Pittsburgh, and Maryland.

Brickle, a 6-foot-2, 265-pound lineman, is seen as a player who could be a force at the next level.

Rutgers offered Bickle in October 2021.

During his freshman year, Brickle has been crucial to Malvern Prep’s success. The Friars have only allowed 22 points this season. In six games, Brickle has 10 solo tackles and three tackles for a loss as well as three passes defended. While he does not lead the team in either category, he has arguably been their best freshman.

Malvern Prep is 6-1 on the year.

Additionally, he has shown the ability to cause pressure and rush the opposing quarterback. In the clips above, he also showed a talent for shutting down an opponent’s running game.

While the talented lineman has yet to make a decision, he seemingly enjoyed his visit to Rutgers last month. It was not his first campus visit, as he visited last January to tour the facility. He will be a player to keep an eye on in the coming years, regardless of the school he chooses.
