Florida quarterback Sean Ashenfelder talks recent Rutgers football offer

Rutgers football recently offered Sean Ashenfelder.

One name to keep an eye on for the 2025 recruiting cycle is Sean Ashenfelder, who is likely to emerge as a top quarterback prospect from this class. In early February, Ashenfelder landed an offer from Rutgers football.

A standout at Creekside (St. Augustine, FL), Ashenfelder is coming off a season In 11 games played, Ashenfelder was 66-of-109 for 923 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions.

He also had 354 rushing yards and a touchdown on 67 attempts. He played behind a senior Wilson Edwards, a very solid quarterback and leader who is fielding a number of offers from Division II programs.

Creekside went 9-3 last season.

“The offer is very special for me. It means that the coaching staff believes I can be a part of their program and believe in my abilities,” Ashenfelder told Rutgers Wire this weekend.

“I feel very humbled and honored to get an offer to RU. I love the coaching staff and what they’re about.”

Ashenfelder held an offer from Pittsburgh coming into the year. Since then, he has been offered by Virginia Tech, Georgia Southern, Rutgers and Liberty.

The offer from Rutgers came after the staff checked him out in person which led to a phone call with head coach Greg Schiano.

“Coach Ciarrocca (offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca) and coach Harasymiak (defensive coordinator Joe Harasymiak) came out to see me throw,” Ashenfelder said.

“And then I got on the phone with coach Schiano and the offer came from there.”
