Vince Young: selected 3rd overall by the Tennessee Titans
An absolute legend at the University of Texas. Vince Young brought the Longhorns back to the promise land with his memorable run at the National Championship that ended in the 2006 Rose Bowl. That game is still talked about to this very day and the season is one of the best in school history. For his collegiate efforts, Young was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Young’s NFL career never lived up to the expectations that come with being a top three pick in the NFL Draft. He played for the Titans for five seasons until landing in Philadelphia in 2011. He bounced around after that season before officially walking away from football. He was the 2006 NFL offensive rookie of the year and won the NFL comeback player of the year in 2009. Both seasons he was named to the Pro Bowl.
Michael Huff: selected 7th overall by the Oakland Raiders
Huff was also a member of that talented team in 2005-06 that won the National Championship. Huff earned the Jim Thorpe award in 2005, an award given to the best defensive back in college football. Huff was also an unanimous All-American that year. He was selected by the Raiders just four picks after Young.
Huff would play in the NFL for eight seasons, seven of those with the Raiders. He was named second team All-Pro in 2010. He ended his final season of 2013 splitting time between Baltimore and Denver. He finished with 11 career interceptions, 446 career tackles and 55 passes defended.
