Malcolm Brown: selected 32nd overall by the New England Patriots

The last first round selection of a Texas Longhorn belongs to Malcolm Brown, not to be confused with the running back Malcolm Brown. Both of which are currently in the NFL. The New England Patriots made him the final pick of the first round in the 2015 NFL Draft. Brown won two Super Bowls while playing for the Patriots, they declined his fifth-year option and off to New Orleans he went.

Brown started all 16 games for the Saints in 2019, the first time in his career that Brown would start every game. He did play all 16 games as a Patriot twice, but never was a starter every game. He was named to the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2015. He was the last five-star defensive lineman recruit in the Big 12 conference until Alfred Collins in the 2020 recruiting class.

Since joining the NFL, Brown has racked up 220 tackles, 10.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries. Just age 26, Brown has many years left in his career. The former Big 12 defensive player of the year is heading into his second season of a three-year deal with the Saints.
