Broncos will wear Color Rush uniforms against Lions in Week 16

The Broncos will wear their all-orange Color Rush uniforms against the Lions this week.

The Denver Broncos (5-9) plan to wear alternate all-orange Color Rush uniforms when they host the Detroit Lions (3-10-1) at Empower Field at Mile High in Week 16 of the 2019 NFL season.

The league no longer has official Color Rush games — with both teams sporting bright colors — but teams are permitted to wear their Color Rush uniforms as alternates if they choose to. It’s unclear if Detroit plans to wear a Color Rush uniform or its standard away uniform on Sunday.

The Broncos previously wore alternate blue uniforms in a 16-0 win over the Tennessee Titans and in a 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers earlier this season. Denver has worn Color Rush uniforms once a season since 2016, posting a 2-1 record in those games.

The last time they wore Color Rush uniforms, the Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-17 during the 2018 season.

The Broncos will wear their standard orange jerseys with white pants when they host the Oakland Raiders to close out the season in Week 17.

XFL’s Seattle Dragons reveal uniforms for inaugural season

The XFL’s Seattle Dragons revealed their uniform combinations on Tuesday, with roughly three months until their season is set to begin.

Fans finally know what the Seattle Dragons, the newest football team to start up in the Pacific Northwest, will be wearing when they take the field in February as part of the upstart XFL.

The team revealed their uniform combination at a dinner event on Tuesday evening, hosted by the team’s head coach and general manager, former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Jim Zorn.

The uniform combines the classic green and blue coloring of nearly every Seattle sports team, while also adding an orange dragon-like flair that somewhat resembles the color scheme at the University of Miami.

The XFL will wear navy blue home jerseys, and white jerseys with orange numbers on the road.

“I love them,” former Seahawks receiver and current Dragon Kasen Williams told media members on Tuesday. “I think my favorite part is the helmet, most definitely. The whites flow. The home jerseys with the all blue, they go, too. I’m a big fan.”

The Dragons are set to begin their training camp this week, and will look to evaluate their roster and make changes before the season begins on February 8, 2020 – one week after the Super Bowl.

Seahawks will wear Action Green jerseys and navy blue pants Monday

The Seattle Seahawks will wear their Action Green jerseys with navy blue pants against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.

The Seattle Seahawks will wear their Action Green uniforms for the second time this season when they square off Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings on “Monday Night Football.”

However, the team announced they will be wearing their navy blue pants with their jerseys as opposed to the typical matching Action Green bottoms.

Seattle enters one of the most crucial games of its season, as the Vikings are also fighting for a division title and have won six of their last seven games. All but one of the Seahawks’ nine wins so far this year have been by one possession, so they must claim victory if they hope to steal the NFC West title from the 49ers, who face the  Ravens on Sunday.

The Seahawks are 4-0 when wearing their Action Green uniforms and look to keep the undefeated streak alive on Monday night.

The only thing that irritates Lakers …

The only thing that irritates Lakers fans more than the team wearing purple at home, which will only happen three more times this season, is the way their gold uniforms have looked since the 2017-18 season when Nike replaced Adidas as the NBA’s official apparel partner. Many fans feel it looks more like highlighter yellow than the traditional gold the Lakers used to wear. “The most often complained-about thing is that the gold is wrong,” Lakers chief operating officer Tim Harris said. “The first year we had the Nike uniform the gold did look like a highlighter but Nike tells us the gold that we wear now matches the gold back in the early days of Kobe [Bryant]. What fans are upset about is the evolution of the color but we were told they have the gold back to what it used to be but a lot of people think it’s still too yellow so we’re going to look at that after the season.”

Rank ‘Em: Recent Notre Dame Alternate Uniforms

I liked the theme of this uniform even if the final look was far from amazing.  I found it hard to read the lettering and even though the helmet was a solid effort, you couldn’t tell it was anything unique other than a different color gold unless the camera was zoomed in.

No. 15 Notre Dame takes on Boston College this Saturday and will be honoring the 1988 national championship squad by wearing throwbacks as a nod to the last title-winning team.  We at FIW would be more excited about a different throwback being made starting Saturday, but we won’t be holding our collective breathes.

If you missed it when they were announced back in August or just simply haven’t seen them for whatever reason yet.

They’re Notre Dame’s nod to 150 years of college football and are done pretty well.  I wish they’d do the actual old-school jersey and not just impersonate the mesh but understand why that wouldn’t so much fly these days.  They’re close enough to the first football jersey I ever owned (shoutout to Ron Powlus and Champion brand) so bring some nostalgia for even me who was far too young in 1988 to remember anything about that championship.
