SEC football recruiting rankings following early signing day

Updated SEC football recruiting rankings following early signing day

Early signing day has come and gone and Wednesday delivered some intense moments for coaches, fans, and analysis around the country awaiting the decisions of some of the top prospects for the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The SEC once again flexed its muscles with 13 of the 16 schools finishing inside the top 25 of the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.

For [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide, it was business as usual as Saban and his staff once again hauled in one of the nation’s top classes.

Now that the dust has settled, let’s take a look at the SEC football recruiting rankings following early signing day.

SEC football recruiting rankings after UGA added 5-star RB

The SEC has five of the nation’s top-10 recruiting classes

The Georgia Bulldogs continue to have the best recruiting class in the SEC and in the nation in the class of 2024. Things are heating up with SEC recruiting. The conference has five programs in the top 10 of the national recruiting rankings and 10 programs in the top 20.

Georgia looks primed to retake the country’s (and SEC’s) recruiting crown in the 2024 recruiting cycle. Recruits are committing earlier than ever, so fans should anticipate many flipped commitments and a lot of drama down the stretch.

The Alabama Crimson Tide could give Georgia a run for its money in the class of 2024, but the Crimson Tide will need to add many more commitments.

Surprisingly, Florida is off to an elite start in the class of 2024, but will Gator recruits stick with their pledges? We think Florida will struggle during the fall and ultimately lose a significant portion of its recruiting class.

SEC signees in the 2024 recruiting cycle will be the first ones to exclusively play in the expanded conference that will feature Oklahoma and Texas.

Here’s where the SEC football recruiting rankings for the class of 2024 stand:

Final 2023 SEC East recruiting rankings

What are the final recruiting rankings for all seven teams in the SEC East?

The Georgia Bulldogs run the SEC East. Georgia continues to recruit at a championship level after winning back-to-back national championships. However, Alabama landed the nation’s best recruiting class.

How is the rest of the SEC East division recruiting? Tennessee secured its best class in several years. Florida and South Carolina both signed top-20 recruiting classes.

Overall, the SEC continues to be the best recruiting conference in the country and it does not look like that will change any time soon.

Here’s the final recruiting rankings for all seven teams in the SEC East:

Who was the top-rated recruit for each team in the SEC on signing day?

Here’s the biggest prize in each SEC team’s 2023 recruiting class.

The 2023 recruiting class is in the books, and all the teams from the SEC have received their overall ranking, which we will base on the 247Sports Composite, and they include transfers into their formula.

Per usual, the SEC had a strong outing in recruiting. Nine teams finished inside the top 25 recruiting classes including four teams in the top ten and three in the top five.

It’s no surprise that Alabama and Georgia are leading the way. Their dominance over the past few years shows how great those programs are at recruiting and developing top talent. [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] has thrown LSU’s name into the mix as he brought home a haul to Baton Rouge, and South Carolina shocked the world on National Signing Day as they signed [autotag]Nyckoles Harbor[/autotag].

Here’s the top signee for each program in the league.

5-star Buford athlete KJ Bolden names top schools

KJ Bolden, the fourth-ranked class of 2024 recruit, has named his top schools. Bolden plays football and runs track for Buford High School.

Georgia football offered a scholarship to Buford High School (Buford, Georgia) star KJ Bolden in 2021. Bolden, a member of the class of 2024, is now a five-star recruit.

Bolden is the No. 4 recruit in the junior class. He is ranked No. 2 in Georgia, which is loaded with talent in the 2024 cycle, and is the top-ranked safety nationally.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound athlete also runs track. The five-star recruit has excellent speed and is one of the top track athletes in Georgia.

Bolden has taken recent visits to Ohio State, Georgia and Clemson. The junior primarily plays receiver and safety for Buford. The five-star has great acceleration and quickness. He is a threat to score a touchdown on any play as a wide receiver.

Bolden named his top 15 schools via Twitter:

The Buford standout ranks Georgia, Tennessee, USC, Oregon, South Carolina, Alabama, Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida State, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, LSU, Clemson and Colorado as his top schools.

Georgia isn’t the only SEC East team that is doing work on the recruiting trail. Josh Heupel and Tennessee are bringing in a lot of talent and currently have a top-ten recruiting class.

How does the rest of the division rank in the class of 2023 recruiting cycle (rankings per 247Sports)?

SEC football recruiting rankings following the early signing period

A look at the 2023 SEC football recruiting rankings following the early signing period.

Now that the madness of the early signing period has simmered down a bit, it is time to take a peek at how the rankings look for the football programs in the SEC.

To the surprise of no one, [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide have a solid grasp on the SEC’s and the nation’s top class followed by Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.

A total of 10 SEC teams landed inside the top 25 according to On3’s Consensus Football Team Rankings including four inside the top 10 nationally.

Here is how the SEC recruiting rankings line up following the early signing period according to On3.

Alabama, Georgia lead the way in the 2023 recruiting rankings

Checking in on Arkansas’ 2023 class and where they rank among their peers.

The calendar turns to the month of November which means we are just over a month away from the early signing period in mid-December.

While there is still a month of football games left on the regular season slate, coaches and support staff are looking to make waves on the recruiting trail. Some classes need a few spots filled, while others have a lot of work to do in the coming months.

With Nov. 1 now upon us, we look at the updated 2023 recruiting rankings in the SEC according to 247Sports composite team rankings.

Updated SEC recruiting rankings as April comes to a close

How the recruiting rankings look in the SEC as we approach May.

Over the next several months the teams in the SEC and around the country will be cranking up their recruiting efforts.

Last year the SEC saw the Texas A&M Aggies, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Georgia Bulldogs all jockeying for position at the top. Ultimately it was the Aggies that won out with the best recruiting class of all time. Can they repeat their efforts in 2022?

The prized recruit this year is Isidore Newman’s Arch Manning with Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, and the Texas Longhorns all firmly in the mix for the five-star passer. It feels as though the Manning family scion will be in the SEC one way or another. Whether that is in 2023 or as late as 2025 with Texas joining the fray.

The LSU Tigers are among the top schools for the No. 10 rated player in the 2023 class, according to Rivals’ rankings.

Jayden Wayne of Tacoma has released his top schools for his recruitment. While the Tigers were among the list you can find the usual suspects in the SEC as well. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and future SEC team Texas were all present on his list as well.

Currently, Wayne ranks as the No. 1 player in the state of Washington and a top-three player at his position. He is listed as a defensive lineman but based on his size, Wayne might project best as a strong-side defensive end for LSU. Unless he adds some weight to his frame, playing on the interior defensive line wouldn’t be productive for him.

LSU is in a good spot with several defensive linemen and they can thank new defensive line coach Jamar Cain. His reputation of developing NFL talent speaks for itself. Wayne is also looking at his home state team, the Washington Huskies. They are joined by Oregon and USC of the Pac-12 on the list.

While it is early in the process, Brian Kelly has to like where they stand with one of the nation’s best defenders. No update has been given at this time for any visits or when he will cut down his list any further.
