The NFL has decided not to punish Jamal Adams, after all.

Earlier this week ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the league was considering disciplinary action for Adams after he yelled at the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant during Monday night’s game against the Giants. Adams issued an apology on Twitter a couple days ago. Whether they were moved by the message or not we’ll never know for sure, but in any case Schefter is now reporting that no fine or other punishment is coming.

Adams looked extremely sharp when he was on the field against New York – posting a couple of stops. However, he only lasted nine snaps before he suffered a concussion by taking a knee to the helmet when he tackled Daniel Jones on a scramble. Adams was obviously concussed and quickly ruled out from returning to the field.

After the game was over, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that Adams should be OK to return after the bye week, but as of yet there’s been no reportage on whether or not he’s passed protocol. Either way, Seattle will visit Cincinnati for another early kickoff in Week 6.

Seahawks injury updates: Jamal Adams, Tre Brown and more

Several more went down during Sunday’s win, adding to what was already a long list of players dealing with injuries.

The Seahawks beat the Panthers yesterday. improving to 2-1 on the season. However, they did not come out of Lumen Field unscathed. Several more players went down during Sunday’s win, adding to what was already a long list of players dealing with injuries.

After the game was over, head coach Pete Carroll gave updates on a few of them. Here’s what we learned from Carroll as well as what we know coming out of Week 3.

SS Jamal Adams (quad)

First, an update on the injury king. Carroll told reporters that Jamal Adams will definitely play in next week’s Monday Night Football matchup against the Giants. Adams was one of seven inactives for Sunday’s game and hasn’t played since the first quarter of the 2022 season.

OLB Darrell Taylor (leg)

Among the list of in-game injuries was edge rusher Darrell Taylor. Carroll says Taylor got kicked in the shin, which aggravated an old injury and forced him to the sidelines. Rookie Derick Hall was the next man up in the OLB rotation.

DE Dre’Mont Jones (hip)

The team’s big-ticket free agent item also suffered an injury. Apparently Dre’Mont Jones felt his “hip tighten up” according to Carroll, which was also the result of an old injury being aggravated.

LG Damien Lewis (hand)

Seattle’s starting left guard Damien Lewis was also listed as questionable to return at one point with a hand injury. However, he did eventually get back on the field. While he was out Ben Brown took his place at left guard.

CB Tre Brown (concussion)

The worst injury happened to Week 2 hero, cornerback Tre Brown. He was seemingly knocked out during a tackle attempt in the first half. Not long after, he was ruled out with a concussion. Mike Jackson took over at right cornerback and played well, another sign of the team’s incredible CB depth.

Fans react to reassuring win over Panthers

Seahawks Twitter reacts to reassuring win over Panthers

It’s been years since the building was that loud and if it continues it will help re-establish this team’s lost dominance at home.

The Seahawks defense still has a lot of work to do and injuries are piling up like laundry in a college dorm. However, Seattle got the job done at home against the Panthers on Sunday, taking down Carolina 37-27. After a stunning loss at home in Week 1 to the Rams and an overtime shootout with the Lions last week, winning by 10 points is a comfortable margin and reassuring about this team’s outlook for the season.

Perhaps the most reassuring thing about it was the impact that the crowd made on the game – as the Panthers offense committed eight false start penalties. It’s been years since the building was that loud and if it continues it will help re-establish this team’s lost dominance at home.

As you might expect, Seahawks fans are for the most part elated. Here’s how they have been reacting on social media to this week’s win over Carolina.

DK Metcalf expected to play vs. Panthers, but not Jamal Adams

We have since gotten updates on two of them.

The Seahawks had a boat-load of players on their injury report this week, with as many as 11 sitting out at one point. Heading into their Week 3 game against the Panthers, five players are listed as questionable.

We have since gotten updates on two of them.

According to Adam Schultz, wide receiver DK Metcalf (ribs) is expected to play in today’s game.

Metcalf got sandwiched between two Detroit defenders while making a catch at the one-yard line in last week’s game. He left the field and was listed as questionable but returned soon after.

Also, according to a report Adam Schefter at ESPN, strong safety Jamal Adams is not expected to play.

Adams has not suited up since Week 1 of the 2022 season against the Broncos, when he tore his quad in the first quarter. It’s been a long battle to get back back for Adams – who will likely make his debut next Monday night against the Giants.

The rumors concern second-year cornerback Riq Woolen, who injured his shoulder in Sunday’s overtime win over the Detroit Lions.
