5-star WR Ryan Wingo sets commitment date

Georgia football is hoping to add a wide receiver commitment after Ny Carr decommitted from the Bulldogs.

Five-star wide receiver recruit Ryan Wingo will announce his commitment on Oct. 25. Wingo will decide among Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Miami, Texas A&M and Missouri.

Wingo plays high school football for St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. The talented wide receiver is expected to stay home and commit to the Missouri Tigers, per 247Sports.

Georgia was once the favorite to land Ryan Wingo, but that has changed. Missouri’s hot start to the 2023 season paired with Luther Burden’s outstanding year give the Tigers a very strong pitch for Wingo.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound wide receiver played both offense and defense for St. Louis University last season. Wingo is ranked as the No. 22 recruit in the nation, the No. 7 wide receiver and the second-ranked recruit in Missouri.

Kirby Smart and Georgia football have the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Bulldogs are looking to add another wide receiver commitment after four-star wide receiver Ny Carr decommitted from Georgia.

Missouri has the No. 40 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle. The Tigers did land a commitment from five-star in-state defensive end Williams Nwaneri.

2024 5-star WR Ryan Wingo has announced his upcoming commitment date

One of the remaining 2024 5-star prospects has included Texas A&M in his final program list, and will announce his commitment next week.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class, currently ranked 5th in the country according to 247Sports, endured its first round of adversity after four-star wide receiver Drelon Miller de-committed earlier this week just days after visiting LSU.

While the fan morale has reached a low point due to the Aggies’ struggles at the midway point of the 2023 season, sitting at 4-3 and 2-2 in the SEC, some attribute Miller’s de-commitment to the play on the field, but as those of us in the industry know, this is likely the case of a young man making the best personal decision for his playing future.

Leaving an open spot in the cycle, 2024 five-star WR and Saint Louis, Missouri native Ryan Wingo’s impending commitment has left us all on our collective toes for what seems like an entire year as the highly talented, versatile wideout announced that he will make his collegiate decision on Wednesday, Oct. 25, choosing between Georgia, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Miami, and yes, Texas A&M.

Overwhelming favored to landing with the Missouri Tigers and head coach Eli Drinkowitz, Wingo’s unofficial visit to College Station during Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party must have influenced the future star enough to include the Aggies in his final list, and as we’ve seen throughout the summer, never count A&M out of the final decision-making process.

However, Tigers sophomore wide receiver Luther Burden III, currently leading the SEC in receiving, is a slam dunk recruiting pitch for Drinkowitz and his staff, as the former five-star is having a career year in the Missouri offense.

Colorado hosting five-star WR Ryan Wingo for USC game

Five-star WR @_Ryanwingo1 is soon headed to Boulder on an official visit

Colorado’s Week 5 game on Sept. 30 will bring all sorts of eyeballs to Folsom Field as head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes host the USC Trojans in what should be a thrilling matchup.

As such, some highly-ranked recruits will be in Boulder for the game, including five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo. The class of 2024 prospect is locked in for an official visit, per Chad Simmons of On3.

Wingo is the No. 7 WR in his class (247Sports Composite), and he already visited Boulder once prior and was impressed with a lot of things, including the facilities and Coach Prime:

“It was up there with the top visits I’ve had, for sure,” Wingo told On3. “Coach Prime kind of brings the extra spark to it. Comparing it to the other schools, like I said, it’s up there with them, for sure. All the facilities, they’re up there with the others, the feel and everything. It’s a nice place.”

Wingo’s older brother, Ronnie, was an electric running back at Arkansas more than a decade ago, so football runs in his family. Texas, Missouri, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Michigan have sent offers to the five-star WR, but his upcoming visit to Folsom Field is huge for Colorado.
