Auburn offers No. 1 WR in the 2024 recruiting cycle

Auburn has entered the mix for 2024 five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo.

[autotag]Ike Hilliard[/autotag] may be recruiting high schoolers for the first time as a coach but he has hit the ground running.

He has already landed two four-star prospects in [autotag]Karmello English[/autotag] and [autotag]Daquayvious Sorey[/autotag]. Not only is English Auburn’s highest-rated commit, but prior to Hilliard joining Bryan Harsin’s staff the Tigers were not even in the picture to land him.

With the addition of those two to the Tigers 2023 class, Hilliard has turned his attention to the 2024 recruiting class and he is going after some big targets. On Monday he extended an offer to five-star [autotag]Ryan Wingo[/autotag], the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

Wingo, who checks in at 6-foot-2 and 198-pounds, is from Saint Louis, Missouri, and already has over 30 college offers. He is ranked as the No. 6 overall player by the 247Sports composite and it is easy to see why.

He also runs track and his speed translated to the football field where he is not only a deep threat but can also make defenders miss in space.

Notre Dame hosted 5-star Missouri WR, reports claim it went well

The Irish are already working hard on their 2024 class

It was a very big day for Notre Dame Football on the recruiting trail on Tuesday. Multiple commitments ([autotag]CJ Carr[/autotag], [autotag]Drayk Bowen[/autotag], [autotag]Cam Williams[/autotag] to name a few) and committed but trying to flip ([autotag]Austin Novosad[/autotag]) were on campus.

Among that group visiting was 5-Star receiver [autotag]Ryan Wingo[/autotag] from St. Louis. This was his second visit to Notre Dame in the last 6 weeks, leading many to wonder if Wingo could be the next piece to the 2024 recruiting puzzle. Two of his potential future offensive classmates were there with him in Carr and Williams, no doubt they had their recruiting hats on as well, trying to entice Wingo to join them.

Many insiders via Twitter came out with positive statements following Wingo’s visit. That can only be viewed as good news from an Irish standpoint and very well could lead to Wingo being on campus again this fall to take in a game.

Sooners offer one of nation’s best 2024 receivers in five-star Ryan Wingo

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to build their 2024 recruiting board, offering elite WR Ryan Wingo out of St. Louis.

The Oklahoma Sooners have a much clearer picture on their recruiting board for the 2023 class at this point as the offers for the 2023 class have slowed of late. At this point, the offers going out are to late bloomers and guys that the Sooners had to pivot to because their initial targets may be leaning elsewhere.

All in all, their recruiting strategy for 2023 is locked in.

The 2024 board has hardly been established and the Sooners are still in the stages of identifying their tier one targets as they extend offers, gather information, and interest.

Oklahoma sent out an offer to one of 2024’s brightest wide receiver prospects, [autotag]Ryan Wingo[/autotag] out of St. Louis. Wingo is a top 25 player everywhere but ESPN who hasn’t rated him yet. He fits the mold of what Jeff Lebby is looking for in his receivers as he stands at 6-foot-2 and just under 200 pounds. He’s explosive in and out of his cuts and is barely scratching the surface of what he could become.

The Sooners have had success recruiting the St. Louis area, with Ronnie Perkins the most recent evidence. Wingo immediately shoots up to the top of the Sooners 2024 receiving boards as they try and make themselves a factor in his recruitment.

Notre Dame offers receiver recruit Ryan Wingo

The Irish are after a speedy receiver who’s just getting started in high school.

While it would be nice to see Notre Dame improve its receiver situation from last year quickly, improvement often comes to those who wait. Tommy Rees is looking far down the road for his offense, or at least that of the Irish. As strong as the offensive line was during the 2020 season, receiver is among Notre Dame’s biggest areas of need. That’s why Rees has given an offer to Ryan Wingo, a receiver at St. Louis University High School in St. Louis with only his first year of prep football under his belt:

Like many recruits his age, Wingo only has a few offers so far. In addition to Notre Dame, he’s drawn interest from Illinois, Iowa State, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Missouri and UCF. Every program that comes after him will appreciate his speed, especially after he won four gold medals in a recent track meet for 100- and 200-meter events as well as two relay events. He’s only going to get better as he progresses through high school, and that’s a scary thought.
