Updated Oklahoma and Big 12 bowl projections from USA TODAY Sports

A look at the latest bowl projections from USA TODAY Sports after week 10’s action.

Despite the loss to Baylor last Saturday, there’s still a strong probability that the Oklahoma Sooners will go bowling in 2022. It won’t be a New Year’s Six bowl like many projected to start the season, but Oklahoma will likely get another game that helps them build toward the 2023 season.

As things stand now, USA TODAY Sports’ Erick Smith projects eight Big 12 teams to bowl games. Iowa State is back in the bowl hunt after their win over West Virginia. The Cyclones are 4-5 with games against Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and TCU remaining. With their defense, picking up wins in two of their final three seems reasonable.

For the Sooners, they need just one more win to be bowl eligible. Their final three against West Virginia, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech each have the potential to be winnable games, but if there isn’t any improvement on defense, they could also be losable games.

Michigan vs. Nebraska: Behind enemy lines

Michigan definitely holds the upper hand here.

Michigan will hit the gridiron on Saturday back in the Big House. The 9-0 Wolverines will face the 3-6 Nebraska Cornhuskers who have had a very rocky season.

Nebraska fired Scott Frost after the third game of the season and Micky Joseph has taken over as the interim head coach, but things haven’t gotten much better for the Cornhuskers.

Nebraska is currently 2-4 in conference play and it is on a three-game losing streak heading into Ann Arbor.

Michigan and Nebraska haven’t played one another a bunch. But the maize and blue does hold a 6-4-1 all-time record against the Huskers.

The Cornhuskers have dealt with some injury issues lately. Their starting quarterback Casey Thompson has been injured and it’s still not determined if he will suit up or not against Michigan. So we talked with Even Bredeson with Cornhuskers Wire to get to know Nebraska a little better.

Here were my five questions about Nebraska.

Predicting outcome of every remaining UGA game, including postseason

Score predictions for every remaining game on UGA’s schedule, plus postseason projections

With three regular season games to go, it’s hard to imagine No. 1 Georgia (9-0) losing a matchup remaining on its schedule, though it’s certainly not an easy stretch. UGA has road games at Mississippi State and Kentucky before closing with Georgia Tech at home.

But will UGA face LSU, Ole Miss or Alabama in the SEC title? What about the CFP? LSU is on pace to clinch the SEC West. But first, it needs to beat Arkansas this weekend (LSU -3, per BetMGM).

I predicted the outcome of every game remaining on Georgia’s schedule, the SEC championship and the College Football Playoff.

Five things to know about the Texas A&M Aggies

Get to know Texas A&M ahead of their game Saturday.

Auburn football is set to make its return to Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday for a match with the Texas A&M Aggies.

Despite both teams riding a five-game losing streak and the fact that the loser will be dead last in the SEC West, this is a big game for Auburn.

That is because [autotag]Cadillac Williams[/autotag] will be coaching his first home game as the head coach of the Tigers and it should be an electric crowd. Something he admitted he is excited about at a recent press conference.

“Wow. Well, I did an interview this morning about that, and it is Monday so I am going to hold it together, but you can’t make this up. Honestly, I don’t know how I am going to feel. I do know I have a job to do to get this team ready to play and get these guys prepared are lead these guys. I know I can’t make this about me, but I am going to sit in the moment, and I am going to enjoy it. I am excited for that moment and honored.”

The game is set to start at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be on the SEC Network. Ahead of the game, here are five things to know about the Aggies.

Auburn Football’s week 11 outlook according to College Football News

How did Auburn’s loss at Mississippi State affect this week’s outlook from College Football News?

Auburn football showed life last Saturday at Mississippi State, although it was not enough for them to earn a win.

The Tigers trailed Mississippi State, 24-6 at halftime before storming back to force the game into overtime. Auburn outscored the Bulldogs 27-9 in the 2nd half, which is uncharacteristic of this season’s team.

The momentum did not stay with Auburn long enough, as Mississippi State’s Jo’quavious Marks rushed from six yards out to score the walk-off touchdown for the Bulldogs in overtime to seal the 39-33 win.

The game was the first under interim coach [autotag]Carnell Williams[/autotag], who exhibited energy all night that influenced the team to perform at a high level. This week, Williams returns to the stadium that made him a legend for the first time as the Tigers’ leading man.

Before the Tigers take the field against Texas A&M on Saturday, College Football News released its’ weekly outlook for every Football Bowl Subdivision program ahead of week 11’s slate. Here is how Auburn stacks up with the rest of the country according to the outlet.

Georgia, who did not add a transfer this offseason, has seen a lot of talented players transfer away from their program. Georgia-Tennessee draws most viewers of any 2022 CFB game

The Georgia-Tennessee game drew a massive TV audience on CBS

The Georgia Bulldogs versus Tennessee Volunteers game drew an audience of over 13 million viewers. The game, which was televised on CBS, was not as competitive as advertised, but it featured the most viewers of any college football game during the 2022 college football regular season.

The 2022 edition of Georgia-Tennessee is the most viewed game in rivalry history since viewership has been monitored (1997). No. 3 Georgia defeated No. 1 Tennessee in one of the biggest games in Sanford Stadium history.

Georgia fans made a huge impact in the Bulldogs’ 27-13 win over the Volunteers. Tennessee was penalized for numerous false starts and allowed six sacks.

The second-most viewed game of the 2022 college football season was Tennessee’s upset win over Alabama. Will Georgia face Tennessee again in the College Football Playoff?

Big Ten football predictions and other big game picks for Week 11

It’s time again for our writers to pick all of the Big Ten games and the six best national ones.

Every year (and every week of the season) we have a little friendly competition among our writers for world domination when it comes to picking Big Ten and some of the bigger college football games.

The Big Ten race seems to be coming down to Ohio State and Michigan in the East, and though Illinois is barely sitting in the driver’s seat in the West, almost every team not named Northwestern has a shot at the title over there.

So, how will Week 11 play out in the Big Ten? What about some of the top national games as well? Our writers take turns picking all the games in the Big Ten straight up and against the spread as well as the same drill on the top six in the nation outside of that (our “pick six”)

As a reminder, if there’s an asterisk next to the pick, that means the team will win, but not cover. If there is a tie, rather than have a cage match or old-fashioned duel, we’ll settle it with less violence and go with the tried, yet true, coin flip where George Washington has the say.

EXAMPLE:
– If you think Ohio State will win minus-3.5 over an opponent: OSU
– If you think Ohio State will win outright: OSU
– If you think Ohio State will win, but NOT cover: OSU*
