Ogbonnia Okoronkwo takes to Twitter to show excitement to join Browns

It seems the pass rusher is excited to be in Cleveland.

After agreeing to a three-year deal to join the Cleveland Browns pass rusher Ogbonnia Okoronkwo took to social media. He seems to be happy to end up in Cleveland and likely is excited for the opportunities he will get playing opposite Myles Garrett for the next three years. He immediately dove into Browns’ Twitter to let the Dawg Pound know he is excited to join their ranks.

Seems like a player that fans are going to love to root for as he looks to embrace his new city. The team will now eagerly await seeing their new player hit the field later in the offseason will teams get back on the practice field.

Report: Browns target Ogbonnia Okoronkwo to have a ‘healthy market’

One target will have a healthy market.

The new NFL league year is nearly upon us with legal tampering kicking off at noon on March 13th and free agency officially begins on Wednesday. The Cleveland Browns will be looking to add to the defensive line and one of their potential target Ogbonnia Okoronkwo will reportedly have a healthy market.

Pairing Okorokwo with Myles Garrett would be a nice upgrade for the Browns both in the pass rush department and in stopping the run. Last year Okorokwo had an 81.9 pass rush grade from PFF with 36 quarterback pressures. That was in Houston without much help on the defensive line and pairing him with Garrett would open up a lot of one on one opportunities to flourish.

1 pending free agent Chargers could target from each NFL team

Here’s a look at one pending free agent from each NFL team that could interest the Chargers.

The Chargers won’t be as aggressive as they have been in recent years regarding signing free agents.

Even after making moves to get cap compliant before the new league year begins on Wednesday, Los Angeles’ priorities will be to re-sign some of their players and extend Justin Herbert.

After that, they should have some spendings available to sign some low-cost players.

That said, here is one pending free agent from each team in the NFL that could be a realistic target for L.A.

Mock free agency on the heels of the legal tampering period

Need a taste of what free agency could realistically look like? We’ve got you covered.

As the legal tampering period is set to begin tomorrow, the Cleveland Browns will look to get significantly better. Especially on the defensive side of the football. While their salary cap situation is still a bit rough, sitting $14 million in the red, they have until Wednesday to restructure contracts. This means they can come to agreements with free agents on Monday, even if the cap space is not officially cleared.

Here, we take a shot at a mock free agency for the Browns. Who could they sign? How will they create cap space? We address all of this here. For the value of the players signed, we will be using PFF’s free agent valuation numbers.

Report: Bengals could be interested in Texans DE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo

The Cincinnati Bengals could be a team interested in defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, who spent 2022 with the Houston Texans.

The Houston Texans losing a decent defensive lineman in free agency to the Cincinnati Bengals was how they started their three seasons of double-digit losses, and maybe the AFC North club doing an encore is how Houston breaks the cycle.

According to Dan Graziano from ESPN, the Bengals have interest in defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo.

The Bengals are among the teams looking for edge rush help in free agency and could be one of the teams interested in Obo Okoronkwo if the Texans aren’t able to get him signed before the market opens.

Okoronkwo generated 44 combined tackles, nine tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hits, 5.0 sacks, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble through 17 games, eight of which he started.

The Texans were using Okoronkwo as an edge defender in Lovie Smith’s Tampa 2 scheme with a 4-3 front. Okoronkwo spent the first two years of his NFL career playing in Wade Phillips’ 3-4 scheme as an outside linebacker with the Los Angeles Rams. The former Alief Taylor High School product can be productive either way, which is why he might be useful in Cincinnati defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo’s scheme.

Bengals could have interest in Texans free agent Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, per report

An insider says the Bengals could target Ogbonnia Okoronkwo in free agency.

The Cincinnati Bengals might target Houston Texans pass-rusher Ogbonnia Okoronkwo when free agency opens this week.

Okoronkwo, who turns 28 next month, played the most snaps of his career last season with the Texans, putting up five sacks in the process.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler noted the Bengals could have eyes on him:

The Bengals are among the teams looking for edge rush help in free agency and could be one of the teams interested in Obo Okoronkwo if the Texans aren’t able to get him signed before the market opens.

Okoronkwo was a fifth-round pick by the Rams in 2018 but never cracked the 300-snap mark in Los Angeles. He played 517 in Houston last year and per PFF’s numbers, drummed up five sacks and a forced fumble on a 75.1 overall grade and 81.9 pass-rushing grade.

This is the sort of target the Bengals have been expected to look at in the draft or otherwise. While they can’t break the bank, coaches want to deepen the pass-rushing rotation on the ends and Okoronkwo would provide a nice boost, provided the price is right.

6 free-agent edge rushers Colts could consider in 2023

Here are six free-agent edge rushers the Colts could consider in 2023.

The Indianapolis Colts have some promising names in the defensive end room, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if they used free agency to add some depth to the position this offseason.

As Yannick Ngakoue, Tyquan Lewis and Ben Banogu are set to hit the market, the Colts could be looking at free agency as a way to add some cheaper production, especially at the LEO position if Ngakoue doesn’t return.

So the Colts are rolling into free agency with the promising youngsters in Kwity Paye and Dayo Odeyingbo leading the room.

We took a look at the following positions for the Colts to consider adding to in free agency:

We shouldn’t expect the Colts to go on a wild spending spree in free agency. It’s not their M.O., and Chris Ballard isn’t working with the same amount of salary-cap space as he’s used to.

Here’s a look at six free-agent edge rushers the Colts could consider in 2023:

1 pending free agent Chargers should target: AFC South Edition

Listing one free agent from the Jaguars, Texans, Colts and Titans who could be a fit for the Chargers.

The Chargers won’t be as aggressive as they have been in recent years when it comes to signing free agents.

While they’re cash-strapped, general manager Tom Telesco will likely make some moves to have some spendings available to them so they can sign some low-cost players.

That said, I will list one pending free agent from each team in the NFL that could be a realistic target for L.A.

Next up is the AFC South.
