Falcons wideout Scotty Miller thanks Bucs during media

Miller was appreciative of the Bucs organization for taking a chance on him in the sixth round.

New Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Scotty Miller may be moving on from Tampa Bay, but he still had nice things to say about the organization.

Miller spoke to Atlanta media after the Falcons officially announced his signing on Thursday, and he spoke highly of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization. As reported by Greg Auman of FOX Sports, Miller said that he was grateful for the opportunity that Tampa Bay gave him after selecting him in the sixth round, which the team did in the 2019 NFL draft. Miller played college football at Bowling Green, and the team drafted him with the pick it received from trading Desean Jackson to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Miller certainly did “grind it out” as he told media, as he found a place among the Bucs’ wide receiving corps in 2020. He’s most known for his catch right before time expired in the first half of the NFC Championship against the Green Bay Packers in 2020. He saw less playing time in Tampa Bay after that, though, and he only managed 185 yards in 2022.

Bucs free agent Scotty Miller signs with Falcons

Miller is perhaps most known by Bucs fans for his touchdown at the end of the first half in the 2020 NFC Championship game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are losing a key depth piece on offense, as wide receiver [autotag]Scotty Miller[/autotag] is signing with NFC South rivals the Atlanta Falcons on a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Bucs drafted Miller out of Bowling Green in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. While undersized, Miller had speed to spare and became a reserve deep threat, especially when Tom Brady came to town.

Miller’s biggest season as a Buccaneer was during their 2020 Super Bowl run, posting career highs in receptions (33), yards (501) and touchdowns (3). He also made a critical touchdown catch at the end of the first half of the 2020 NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers.

Miller proved to be less effective following 2020, catching just 28 passes for 223 yards and no touchdowns over the last two seasons.

Losing Miller will not likely change the Bucs’ plans at wide receiver. Depth at receiver needed to be addressed even before Miller’s departure, whether in free agency or the draft. The only question is whether the Bucs will be able to upgrade from what Miller had provided the last four seasons.

The #Falcons are signing former Bucs WR Scotty Miller to a one-year deal, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter

The Atlanta Falcons are signing former Buccaneers wide receiver Scotty Miller, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Miller, 25, was drafted in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft out of Bowling Green.

In 2022, Miller had 23 catches for 185 receiving yards in a diminished role for Tampa Bay. His best season came in 2020, when he recorded 33 catches for 501 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Miller should immediately step in as Atlanta’s slot receiver, with Drake London and Mack Hollins lined up on the outside (RELATED: Falcons starting lineup projection).

For his career, Miller has 74 catches for 924 receiving yards and four touchdowns over 50 games (eight starts).

1 pending free agent Chargers could target from each NFL team

Here’s a look at one pending free agent from each NFL team that could interest the Chargers.

The Chargers won’t be as aggressive as they have been in recent years regarding signing free agents.

Even after making moves to get cap compliant before the new league year begins on Wednesday, Los Angeles’ priorities will be to re-sign some of their players and extend Justin Herbert.

After that, they should have some spendings available to sign some low-cost players.

That said, here is one pending free agent from each team in the NFL that could be a realistic target for L.A.

1 pending free agent Chargers should target: NFC South Edition

Listing one free agent from the Falcons, Saints, Buccaneers and Panthers who could be a fit for the Chargers.

The Chargers won’t be as aggressive as they have been in recent years when it comes to signing free agents.

While they’re cash-strapped, general manager Tom Telesco will likely make some moves to have some spendings available to them so they can sign some low-cost players.

That said, I will list one pending free agent from each team in the NFL that could be a realistic target for L.A.

Next up is the NFC South.

6 free agent receivers Patriots could target in 2023

Here are six receivers that should be on the Patriots’ radar in 2023.

It always feels like a scene straight out of Groundhog Day every season with us talking about potential free agent receivers that could be future targets for the New England Patriots.

On one hand, there’s some excitement that comes with thinking up future possibilities that could potentially help the team, but on the other hand, it’s sad that we’re always doing this.

Will there ever come a time when we’ll be able to look at the Patriots’ receiving corps and scratch it off the list as an urgent need?

That time obviously won’t arrive in 2023, when New England will once again be on the prowl for a talented playmaker to improve the struggling unit. Here are six players to keep an eye on in the offseason.

Tom Brady saves Bucs’ season with last-second TD to beat Rams, 16-13

Thanks to a vintage game-winning drive from the GOAT, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored a dramatic win over the Los Angeles Rams

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers broke a three-game losing streak Sunday with a 16-13 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, thanks to a vintage game-winning drive from Tom Brady and the offense in the final minute.

Brady took over on his own 40-yard line with 44 seconds left and no timeouts, marching his group down the field with multiple clutch receptions from wide receiver Scotty Miller and rookie tight end Cade Otton. The GOAT finished it off with a one-yard touchdown pass to Otton with nine seconds left to seal the comeback win.

Sunday’s win marks Tampa Bay’s first over the Rams during the Brady era, and avenges last year’s playoff loss in the divisional round.

Brady finished the game with 280 yards through the air, completing 36 of his 58 passes, and extending his streak of 373 consecutive pass attempts without an interception.

The game-winning drive was the 55th of Brady’s legendary career, breaking a tie with Peyton Manning for the most in NFL history.

Otton and Miller finished the game as Tampa Bay’s leading receivers, combining for 121 yards on 12 receptions, along with the game-winning score.

Tampa Bay’s defense also delivered a strong performance, holding Matthew Stafford and company in check for most of the night, and getting clutch stops in the fourth quarter when they needed them most. Outside of a 69-yard touchdown pass from Stafford to Cooper Kupp in the first half, the Rams offense managed just 137 yards of total offense the rest of the game.

The Bucs improve to 4-5 on the year with the win, and reclaim first-place in the NFC South thanks to a tie-breaker over the 4-5 Atlanta Falcons. The defending Super Bowl champion Rams drop to 3-5 with the loss.

Watch every play from Tom Brady’s game-winning touchdown drive to beat the Rams in the final seconds Sunday

After managing just three field goals amid continued struggles that have plagued them all season long, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense needed to go 60 yards in 44 seconds with no timeouts to beat the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

And they did.

Brady capped it off with a one-yard touchdown pass to Otton with just nine seconds remaining, breaking a three-game losing streak, and beating the Rams for the first time since the GOAT signed in Tampa Bay back in 2020.
