Multiple teams conducting pre-draft visits with Texas LB DeMarvion Overshown

DeMarvion Overshown is gaining interest ahead of the NFL Draft.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, multiple NFL teams are set to meet with Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown for pre-draft visits.

The Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans are among the teams meeting with the standout linebacker.

Overshown earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in his senior season in 2022. He set career highs with 96 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and four sacks, helping anchor a much-improved Texas defense.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound linebacker moves exceptionally well as a former safety. Overshown’s athleticism allows him to play sideline to sideline to a high level against offensive attacks. He recorded an impressive 4.56-second 40-yard dash and 10-foot-4 broad jump at the 2023 NFL Combine in March.

Experts believe Overshown will get selected as a late day two or early three pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Texas Longhorns to watch in the NFL Draft, potential destinations

We look at where many Longhorns could go in the upcoming NFL Draft.

The 2023 NFL Draft is quickly approaching. This draft could be more enjoyable for Longhorns fans than the last one. Last season, Texas drew attention as a team who failed to have a single player selected within the seven rounds. That shouldn’t be a problem this year.

Running back Bijan Robinson is seeing plenty of attention from NFL Draft experts. We’ve detailed the various destinations on which he could land. Among those locations are the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions and a handful of other teams who could use Robinson’s versatility.

Some have denigrated Robinson’s value based on rigid views on running back value. Others have criticized his 4.46 forty-yard dash. Even so, the Arizona product has generational elusiveness, balance and pass catching ability at the running back position. His talent warrants a first round draft pick.

Here’s a look at where other Longhorns could go in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Doug Farrar’s post-free agency, trade-filled, chaos grenade mock draft

In his post-free agency mock draft, Touchdown Wire’s Doug Farrar has two franchise quarterbacks moving to new homes.

Now that the new league year is upon us, and there are but a handful of top-tier players left on the open market, the focus for all NFL shot-callers turns toward the draft. While some coaches and executives left hanging around in free agency won’t have to do too much to their draft boards, other teams are understandably changing their approaches. The Patriots, for example, probably won’t draft two tight ends after picking up Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith. They will, however, run two-tight end sets more often in 2021 than the eight times they did so in 2020 — probably in the first quarter of the first game alone. And the Titans probably aren’t quite as desperate for an edge-rusher after signing Bid Dupree and Denico Autry. Also, just because the Lions got Jared Goff in the Matthew Stafford trade doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be looking for a franchise quarterback, as you’re about to see.

Other teams who did improve in free agency might still be working toward further improvement in the draft. Does signing Riley Reiff mean that the Bengals are out of the picture when it comes to selecting a great offensive tackle? Most likely not. Could the Seahawks still select a running back in the first round even after re-signing Chris Carson? You bet, because they’re the Seahawks.

Wait a minute, you’re saying… the Seahawks don’t have a first-round pick this year because they offloaded it to the Jets in the Jamal Adams deal, right? Right you are, dear reader, but there are two radical trades that set this mock up for the Ari Spyros Chaos Grenade.

Here’s how that rolls. Bears fans, avert your eyes, because it’s all happening without you. There’s this:

New York Jets get: QB Deshaun Watson.

Houston Texans get: The Jets’ second, 23rd, and 34th overall picks in 2021, and the Jets’ first-round pick in 2022.

And then, there’s THIS:

Miami Dolphins get: QB Russell Wilson.

Seattle Seahawks get: QB Tua Tagovailoa, Miami’s third, 18th, and 36th overall picks in 2021, and Miami’s first-round pick in 2022.

If you haven’t slammed your laptop closed or thrown your phone across the room in total outrage, let’s get to the picks. There will be actual explanations for these picks in a separate article, published Monday. As always, all criticisms of this mock draft should be rife with misspellings, awful grammar, and ad hominem insults.

Touchdown Wire’s NFL Mock draft 5.0: Bucs add size and strength to offensive line

Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire provides his latest 2020 NFL mock draft, and has this SEC star coming to the Buccaneers.

Whoever the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select with the 14th pick in this month’s NFL draft, that player will have the benefit of donning the Bucs’ new uniform when the 2020 season kicks off.

The Bucs unveiled their redesigned uniforms today as they prepare for the Tom Brady era in Tampa Bay. Gone are the alarm clock numbers and futuristic look. It’s a return to the sleek classic style of yesteryear, and the Buccaneers are hoping that also means a return to the glory days.

While the NFL draft will be fully virtual this year in light of the coronavirus pandemic, it seems pretty clear that Tampa Bay’s main priority entering the draft will be finding a suitable offensive tackle to help provide Brady with some much-needed protection along the O-line.

In Touchdown Wire’s latest mock draft, Doug Farrar has the Bucs selecting OT Jedrick Wills out of Alabama.

Per Farrar:

“Now that the Bucs have a quarterback with a more adept feel for the passing game (that Tom Brady guy is still pretty good), it’s time to upgrade the line so that Brady can unleash his own quick game, as well as the vertical concepts favored by Bruce Arians. Wills is an ideal candidate because he presents tremendous agility as a pass-blocker, and he’s also nasty in the run game — something Tampa Bay will have to improve if the team is to take optimal advantage of Brady’s strengths.”

Wills is 6-foot-4 and 312 pounds, and ran a 5.05 in the 40-yard dash at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. Mock drafts have been all over the place when it comes to offensive linemen. Wills has been listed in the top 10 several times, and even Louisville’s Mekhi Becton has found himself going to the Bucs at 14 in some drafts and all the way to the New York Giants at No. 4 in others.

It’ll be interesting to see which offensive lineman the Bucs ultimately end up with in round one, should they decide to go that route.
