Titans place Kristian Fulton, Kyle Peko on IR among 4 moves

The Titans made four roster moves on Wednesday, including placing CB Kristian Fulton and DL Kyle Peko on injured reserve.

The Tennessee Titans made four roster moves on Wednesday, which included the placement of two players on injured reserve.

The Titans announced they have placed cornerback Kristian Fulton and defensive lineman Kyle Peko on IR, which means they’ll miss the remaining four games of the 2023 season.

To fill those roster spots, the Titans poached defensive lineman Quinton Bohanna and Keondre Coburn off the practice squads of the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions, respectively.

With Fulton out for the season, we might have seen the last of him in the two-tone blue after what has been a disastrous season for the LSU product, who struggled mightily prior to his injury. He’ll hit free agency in 2024 and it’s highly unlikely the Titans bring him back.

The Titans are now even more shorthanded along the defensive line, as Jeffery Simmons is expected to miss at least one more game with a knee injury, hence Tennessee adding two defensive linemen.

Bohanna has appeared in three games for the Lions this season, tallying six tackles (two for loss). Coburn played in one game for the Chiefs, totaling one tackle (one for loss).

The Titans will return to action on Sunday when they host the Houston Texans at Nissan Stadium.

Broncos made several roster moves ahead of ‘Sunday Night Football’

The Broncos elevated WR David Sills from the practice squad to the game-day roster for a ‘Sunday Night Football’ clash against the Vikings.

The Denver Broncos made several roster moves earlier this week ahead of their Sunday Night Football showdown with the Minnesota Vikings.

First, the Broncos added safety Kareem Jackson back to the 53-man roster after the defensive back’s two-game suspension came to an end.

To make room for Jackson on the active roster, Denver waived defensive lineman Keondre Coburn. The Broncos seemingly to re-sign Coburn to the practice squad, but he chose to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad instead.

On the same day Denver waived Coburn, the team cut cornerback Reese Taylor from the practice squad, presumably making room for Coburn to potentially return. After Coburn opted to return to the Chiefs, the Broncos re-signed Taylor to the practice squad.

After making those transactions earlier this week, Denver also elevated wide receiver David Sills from the practice squad to the game-day roster on Saturday. Sills will revert back to the practice squad on Monday.

See a recap of the team’s roster moves below.

Chiefs snatch DL Keondre Coburn back from Broncos

The Broncos and Chiefs had a tug of war over defensive lineman Keondre Coburn. He ultimately picked Kansas City.

Four weeks ago, the Kansas City Chiefs waived defensive lineman Keondre Coburn from their active roster intending to re-sign him to their practice squad after he cleared waivers.

The Denver Broncos foiled that plan by claiming Coburn off waivers and adding him to their active roster on Oct. 20. He was inactive for each of Denver’s last three games.

When safety Kareem Jackson returned from his two-game suspension earlier this week, the Broncos made room for him on the active roster by waiving Coburn. Denver seemingly signaled its plan to re-sign Coburn to the practice squad by releasing cornerback Reese Taylor from the practice squad on the same day that Coburn was cut.

The Broncos needed Coburn to clear waivers, then he could return on the practice squad. The Chiefs stepped in.

Coburn did clear waivers, but as a free agent, he could choose which practice squad he wanted to join if given offers from multiple teams. He ultimately chose to return to Kansas City, signing with their practice squad Thursday.

After failing to get Coburn back on the practice squad, Denver re-signed Taylor to the practice squad on Thursday. Such is life for bottom-of-the-roster players in the NFL.

Broncos cut defensive lineman to make room for Kareem Jackson on active roster

The Broncos waived Keondre Coburn on Tuesday to make room for Kareem Jackson to return from his suspension.

Kareem Jackson’s two-game suspension was officially lifted on Tuesday after the Denver Broncos defeated the Buffalo Bills 24-22 on Monday Night Football to wrap up Week 10.

To make room for Jackson on the active roster, the Broncos waived waived nose tackle Keondre Coburn, who previously joined the team in mid-October. Denver also made another move that might be a sign that Coburn could return on the practice squad.

The Broncos released cornerback Reese Taylor from the practice squad on Tuesday, potentially creating a spot for Coburn. If Coburn clears waivers, he could return in time for Thursday’s practice.

Back to Jackson — P.J. Locke started during Jackson’s suspension and Locke played well, but he suffered an ankle injury in Week 10. It remains to be seen how serious that injury is.

“We’ll sort through how we’re going to implement Kareem in the plan,” coach Sean Payton said Tuesday. “Certainly we view him as a starter, veteran player. He’s smart — he’s extremely smart.”

After the upset win in Buffalo, up next for Denver is a home Sunday Night Football showdown with the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11.

Broncos make several roster moves ahead of Packers game

The Broncos claimed Keondre Coburn off waivers from the Chiefs and activated Baron Browning to the 53-man roster ahead of the Packers game.

The Denver Broncos have made several roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

First, the Broncos claimed rookie nose tackle Keondre Coburn off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. Coburn, a sixth-round pick in April, will give the team more depth on the defensive line.

To make room for Coburn on the active roster, Denver waived wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey. The Broncos then re-signed Humphrey to the practice squad on Saturday and elevated him to the game-day roster for Week 7. He will revert back to the practice squad on Monday.

To make room for Humphrey on the practice squad, Denver released fellow wide receiver Michael Bandy.

Additionally, the Broncos also placed tight end Greg Dulcich (hamstring) on injured reserve and activated outside linebacker Baron Browning from the reserve/physically unable to perform list to the 53-man roster. Those moves were expected.

Dulcich will now have to sit out four weeks before being eligible to return to the active roster. Browning returns this week after recovering from offseason knee surgery that forced him to miss the first six games of the season.

Sunday’s game will begin at 2:25 p.m. MT and will be televised on CBS in select TV markets. Green Bay is considered a slight favorite this week.

The excitement for many NFL rookies leading into their first preseason game is a unique experience as they start their professional journey. The new players expect more time on the field during these games for evaluation and much-needed experience.

A rookie who is excited about this opportunity is Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Keondre Coburn. The former Texas Longhorns star has a big personality and an even bigger desire to prove himself on the field, even if only in a preseason game. Coburn revealed to the media his eagerness to play in an NFL game after Wednesday’s practice.

“When my name is called, ‘Keondre Coburn’, [I’ll] go on the field and play when I got to play,” said Coburn, “I mean, I’ve been practicing this since training camp, but [I’ve] just been training for when my name is called, it’s time to play and be ready.”

Coburn has built a bond with offensive lineman Trey Smith over their college rivalry and has also earned praise for his work ethic in camp.

“I mean, here’s my first NFL game, the first game in this league, so it will be [a] serious [test] for me,” Coburn explained. “Every game will be serious. So I’m gonna go in there and play. It’s just like it’s my last. I mean, that’s all I can do is just give it my all.”

Coburn’s energy in training camp has made him popular among the veterans. He is still working on his technique but is focused on improving and impressing the coaching staff.

Check out some of the top quotes from the #Chiefs’ post-practice press conference on August 9:

The Kansas City Chiefs were back on the field. Still, they were forced inside due to inclement weather on Wednesday. Four Chiefs got in front of the podium for the team’s post-practice press conference, and each answered reporters’ questions about everything leading to this weekend’s matchup.

Matt Nagy, Skyy Moore, Trey Smith, and Keondre Coburn spoke to reporters and provided valuable insight into their thoughts on training camp, teammates, and more.

The battle in the trenches during training camp pushes both the offensive and defensive lines to be better. The Kansas City Chiefs have fortified both sides of their lines making competition intense as each player looks to prove their superiority.

Guard Trey Smith has garnered a reputation for being aggressive in his blocking and quickly gained respect from his teammates for his efforts to protect Patrick Mahomes. The third-year player spoke with reporters on Wednesday following indoor practice to praise rookie defensive lineman Keondre Coburn’s work ethic in camp.

“Yeah, I’ve gone against Keondre (Coburn) a couple of times. I love Keondre,” Smith explained. “[He is] amazing. He’s a great dude, fun to be around, extremely hard worker. We only disagree about Tennessee and Texas. Which one’s going to be the real ‘UT’? So we talked about that every day. But [I] love playing with him.”

The teammates have formed a bond through their college rivalry as Smith reminded reporters Tennessee is the “real” orange.

“I mean, he’s just doing a good job, man. Just doing whatever they ask of him.” said Smith, “A lot of is a big effort guy really gotta utilize his hands as being vital when he rushes.”

The Chiefs haven’t announced who will be starting and how long their stints will be for this Sunday, but the work is still getting done in camp by the team’s impact players.
