The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to four-star running back TreVonte’ Citizen.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to four-star running back TreVonte’ Citizen. Citizen is a member of the rising senior class and plays high school football for Lake Charles College Prep in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

TreVonte’ Citizen is ranked as the No. 14 running back and No. 159 prospect in the class of 2022. Citizen is additionally considered a top 10 prospect in Louisiana.

The Lake Charles star running back has a good frame and played on both sides of the football last season. Baylor, Michigan, Mississippi, USC, Auburn, Texas, Georgia Tech, and Texas A&M are some of the top schools to offer Citizen a scholarship.

The LSU Tigers are the favorites to land a commitment from TreVonte’ Citizen. It is always hard to pry away elite Louisiana recruits from LSU.

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have the No. 2 ranked recruiting class in the rising senior class. Georgia already has a commitment from four-star running back Jordan James. The Dawgs are likely looking for another running back in the class of 2022. James Cook and Zamir White are likely to declare for the NFL draft following the 2021 college football season.

UGA football HC Kirby Smart & South Carolina Gamecocks HC Will Muschamp recalled a hilarious story of Alabama HC Nick Saban from LSU days.

Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp are two of the SEC’s brightest head coaches, and similar to a number of college football’s coaches, they both learned from the best, Nick Saban.

The two coaches previously spent time together as teammates in Athens and coaches at Valdosta State and then LSU, where they coached under Saban.

From 2000-04, Saban was head coach of the LSU Tigers. Muschamp was his linebackers coach in 2001 and defensive coordinator from 2002-04. Smart, who is four years younger than Muschamp, was with Saban for one season at LSU, coaching the defensive backs in 2004 before spending a year as running backs coach in Athens in 2005. After his year at Georgia, Smart would spend the next decade coaching under Saban, starting with the Miami Dolphins and then the Alabama job.

While being interviewed by CBS Sports this week, both Smart and Muschamp recalled a hilarious story displaying Saban’s lack of tech skills.

The Gamecocks’ head man provided a young Smart with key leadership skills in their lone season as Bulldog teammates. Muschamp later hired Smart as a defensive backs coach for Valdosta State, where the two extended a previous friendship.

Now, as both men are set to embark on their fifth seasons as head coaches of two SEC programs, they can only reflect on where they have come from.

Based on the timing, King may have interest and would be a good fit at LSU. The Georgia Bulldogs would have considered targeting him, but instead Jamie Newman, the former Wake Forest QB, is transferring to UGA.

The Cougars controversially asked players to redshirt this season after the team got off to a slow start. Now, they’re paying the price for this tactic.

King will draw interest from every elite program looking for their next quarterback. The Oregon Ducks, Oklahoma Sooners, and LSU Tigers are all looking for a potential new quarterback. Where will King land next? His decision will shape the 2020 college football season. He may be the next transfer quarterback to compete for the Heisman Trophy.

A comedy of errors: Georgia football botched ample opportunities

Georgia’s inability to take advantage of the situations makes it clear that the Dawgs were never a true playoff contender.

The plays were there. The execution wasn’t.

Missing their two leading receivers, Georgia’s offense went deep several times on their opening drive.

Tyler Simmons, Demetris Robertson and Matt Landers failed to haul in well-thrown balls from Jake Fromm on the Bulldogs’ opening drive.

After being forced to punt, the Dawgs’ defense batted down a pass that Joe Burrow caught himself. LSU proceeded to march downfield and secure a lead it would never relinquish.

By the time George Pickens resumed play following his one half suspension, Jake Fromm had tweaked his ankle and the Silver Britches had lost third-leading receiver Dominick Blaylock. Later, linebacker Walter Grant left the game with a concussion following a targeting penalty that resulted in the ejection of Louisiana State defender Tory Carter.

Typically automatic senior placekicker Rodrigo Blankenship missed two of his three field goal attempts, but will enter his final bowl game wearing red and black maintaining the highest field goal percentage in Georgia history.

While we lament that the opportunities were there, Georgia’s inability to take advantage of the situations makes it clear that the Dawgs were never a true playoff contender.

In the second quarter in today’s SEC Championship game, three-year starting quarterback Jake Fromm suffered an ankle injury following an awkward landing on a sack.

Backup quarterback Stetson Bennett has stepped in but Fromm’s injury appears to be minor and will not keep him out of the game.

Fromm since returned but looks rattled entering the second half.

Georgia football alumni are hyped up for SEC Championship

Former Georgia lettermen take to social media to hype up the SEC Championship game.

Some of our favorite Dawgs have experienced the joy of victory and the agony of defeat against LSU in the SEC Championship Game.

Georgia and Louisiana State have met three times in competing for the conference title. The Tigers have bested the Bulldogs 2-1 in such scenarios, claiming the conference championship in 2003 and 2011. Georgia won the 2005 matchup behind D.J. Shockley’s electrifying performance.

They seem confident that the Dawgs can even the series.

BIG 12 Championship Game: What it means for Georgia

What the Oklahoma vs Baylor BIG 12 Championship Game means to Georgia football ahead of its UGA vs LSU game.

Currently, Oklahoma and Baylor are in a fight for the BIG 12 championship.

The Sooners and Bears, No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, are both playing for a shot at making the College Football Playoff.

In order for either of them to get in, they’ll need Georgia to lose to LSU today.

But if Baylor wins, the Bears may need more than just a Georgia loss. They may need Georgia to lose by at least one touchdown.

If Georgia loses to LSU today by, let’s say three points, then the Dawgs could have a very real argument for remaining at the No. 4 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings and sneaking in.

Now if Oklahoma wins today, Georgia needs to flat-out win. A close loss would not cut it.

However, it’s a different story when it comes to Baylor.

It’s unlikely, but does the committee want Baylor in? I personally don’t think they do.

Georgia has three top-15 wins to date, and if Baylor wins today it’ll have one top-25 win.

I don’t think anybody truly believe Baylor could hang with LSU, Clemson or Ohio State. And if Georgia manages to lose to LSU in a fight to the finish, there would be no doubt that Georgia would be the better option for the playoff.

But maybe I’m a little biased.
