The Chargers just owned every NFL team with their jersey redesign

The Los Angeles Chargers unveiled their new uniforms today, and it puts all other teams to shame.

‘Tis the season for change in the NFL — change of wardrobe that is.

With teams like the Buccaneers, Patriots, Falcons, Browns and even Colts making changes to their uniforms this offseason, it seemed as though the madness was over. Well, think again.

While each team’s new look is an upgrade over their previous one, none can hold a candle to what the Los Angeles Chargers just did. Take a look at LA’s new uniforms, which puts everyone else to shame.

While the navy blue unis certainly make them look similar to the old Rams, the baby blues and yellow are a perfect call back to the past, a theme most teams have embraced in their redesign.

The best feature? Numbers on the helmets.

The Rams have yet to unveil their new look, but I’m going to say it’s probably not as cool as this.

Chris Harris says he was ready to choose between Eagles and Saints when Chargers came out of nowhere

Chris Harris Jr. considered the Eagles before signing with Chargers

Chris Harris Jr’s change of heart could go down in history as the one reason the Eagles were able to finally land Darius Slay.

While a guest on Ian Rapoport’s, RapSheet + Friends podcast, the newly signed Chargers cornerback was discussing his free-agent options after leaving the Denver Broncos.

Harris Jr. admitted that the Eagles were a finalist along with the New Orleans Saints. The slot corner was set to choose between Philadelphia and New Orleans when the Chargers “came out of nowhere” and changed the dynamic.

Feeling the LA weather and deciding the scheme fit him better, Harris Jr. eventually chose the Chargers over the Eagles and Saints.

You can take a listen below, but you have to wonder if Howie Roseman would have target Slay had he been able to land Harris on the open market?

Former Georgia football star Thomas Davis buys arena football team

Former Georgia football and Carolina Panthers star Thomas Davis teams up with Ted Ginn to a buy a Charlotte arena football team.

Georgia great Thomas Davis announced on Instagram that he and former Panthers teammate Ted Ginn have purchased theĀ Charlotte Thunder arena football team.

This year, the team changed its name from the Carolina Energy to the Charlotte Thunder. The team competes in the American Arena League, which was formed by a merger in 2018.

Davis played for the Carolina Panthers from 2005-18, where he and his family made Charlotte his home. Ginn was Davis’ teammate in 2013 and then again in 2015 and 2016.

On March 13, 2019, Davis signed a two-year, $10.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Davis was a monster at Georgia, and though he made his NFL earnings as a linebacker for the Carolina Panthers, he actually played safety in Athens before becoming a first round pick. One of the hardest hitters in school history, Davis was a two-time All-SEC selection, making the second team in 2003 and the first team in 2004. Also, if thatā€™s not enough, the dude has come back from three torn ACLs in the same knee. And you know who he credits his perseverance to? UGA.

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah does not think Jalen Hurts ‘will get out of second round’

Daniel Jeremiah mentioned that one of his colleagues, Bucky Brooks compares Hurts to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Is Jalen Hurts’ draft stock rising? One NFL Network analyst thinks so.

Daniel Jeremiah mentioned that one of his colleagues, Bucky Brooks compares Hurts to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

“When it’s all said and done,” Jeremiah said. “people have been talking about him as a third or fourth-round pick, I don’t think he’ll get out of the second-round because of what he can do as a playmaker.”

Hurts ran a 4.54 40-yard dash earlier tonight which at the time was the fastest out of this year’s QB class and was tied for the tenth fastest QB 40-yard time in NFL Combine history.

Jeremiah went on to say that he does have things to work on but there is enough upside as Hurts is a coach’s son, has a high competitive motor, and other things NFL executives and coaches love to see in quarterbacks, especially quarterbacks they plan on handing the keys to the franchise to.

The NFL Draft is set for April 23-25.

Jalen Hurts runs one of 10 fastest 40-yard dashes in NFL Combine history

With plenty to prove, Ā former Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts turned on the burners at the NFL Combine.

With plenty to prove, Ā former Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts turned on the burners at the NFL Combine.

Hurts ran a 4.64 in his first go-around at the 40-yard dash and followed it up with a 4.59. Hurts’ second run was made four one-hundredths of a second quicker on the official count for an official time of 4.54.

Hurts tied former Sooners quarterback Trevor Knight who ran a 4.54 in 2017. The fastest quarterbacks at the combine of all time are Robert Griffin III (2012) and Michael Vick (2001) who both ran 4.33 in their respective combines.

A rumored possible landing spot for Hurts, current Carolina quarterback Cam Newton is just a hair slower than Hurts as Newton ran a 4.56 in the 2011 combine.

Tyrod Taylor who is now the No. 1 guy for the Los Angeles Chargers ran a 4.47 in 2011. The Chargers have also been mentioned as a team who could take Hurts in the middle rounds after they mutually parted ways with the longtime face of the franchise, Philip Rivers.

The NFL Draft is set for April 23-25 in Las Vegas.

Notre Dame in the NFL: Tranquill Named to PFWA All-Rookie Team

Wednesday the Pro Football Writers Association released their All-Rookie Team and Tranquill was named to it as the Special Teams Specialist.

It’s fitting that Drue Tranquill is making an impact on special teams his first year in the NFL as the first memory most Notre Dame fans have of him is a blocked punt he had against Stanford in his freshman year of 2014.

Tranquill went on to become a captain and a huge reason Notre Dame’s defense was lights-out in 2018, helping guide them to a 12-0 regular season.

Tranquill was drafted in fourth round of last year’s NFL Draft to the Los Angeles Chargers and has already turned heads across the league for his play there.

Wednesday the Pro Football Writers Association released their All-Rookie Team and Tranquill was named to it as the Special Teams Specialist.

Tranquill was the only Notre Dame product named to the team and finished 2019 with 71 tackles between special teams and on defense for the Chargers.

UGA football great after Tech win: ā€˜We still run this stateā€™

UGA Football great Thomas Davis gave a shout out to the Georgia Bulldogs after beating Georgia tech again

On Saturday, Georgia beat rival Georgia Tech 52-7 for the 16th time in the last 19 meetings.

The Dawgs move to 11-1 on the season and will have a tough matchup with LSU for the SEC Championship, which for Georgia will be a College Football Playoff play-in game.

One former Bulldog who was proud to see his alma mater take home the Governor’s Cup once again is Thomas Davis, who is in his 15th NFL season and now with the Los Angeles Chargers.
