UGA football target, 2021 No. 2 safety Terrion Arnold to make announcement on Tuesday

Four-star Tallahassee, Florida safety Terrion Arnold, a Georgia football target, is set to make an announcement on Tuesday. Details here.

Four-star safety Terrion Arnold (John Paul II Catholic High School) from Tallahassee, Florida, listed his top-11 schools, which included Georgia football, in late August.

Now, according to his Twitter account, he is set to make an announcement at noon on Tuesday, December 1.

The No. 2 rated safety in the 2021 recruiting class (247Sports) tweeted this on Monday morning.

Arnold’s top-11 schools are Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M, Southern California and Georgia Tech.

Florida, Florida State and Alabama have the hot hand with Arnold right now, according to the 247Sports Crystall Ball predictions, but Georgia coach Kirby Smart is well-versed in the art of flipping out of state recruits, especially from Florida (George Pickens).

Check back with us at UGAWire.com for updates on Arnold as he makes his announcement Tuesday.

UGA, Bama offer scholarship to 4-star athlete in same week

The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide have both offered scholarships to Faith Academy athelete Shemar James.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide have both offered scholarships to elite high school football recruiting Shemar James. James is a four-star athlete, who plays football for Faith Academy in Mobile, Alabama.

Shemar James is a member of the class of 2022, so he’s a junior in high school. James is six-foot-three and weighs 200 pounds.

The Faith Academy athlete plays primarily wide receiver and defensive end. His team tries to get him the ball in space anyway they can, so sometimes he lines up in the backfield. It is rare to see a wide receiver who plays defensive end, but James has the size to do it at the high school level.

Shemar James projects to be a possession receiver at the college level. He can track the ball well and ripped off some explosive plays after the catch last season. James additionally has the capability to be a great blocking wide receiver. Both Kirby Smart and Nick Saban love wide receivers who are willing to get in the mix and block.

James received offers from both Georgia and Alabama to cap off a big week for him. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide are always among the best recruiting programs in all of college football. Congratulations to the young man.

Shermar James announced his scholarship offer from the University of Georgia via his Twitter account:

Five-star offensive tackle recruit Amarius Mims has committed to the University of Georgia football program.

Five-star offensive tackle recruit Amarius Mims is one of the top players in the class of 2021. Now, Mims has committed to the University of Georgia. Matt Luke and Kirby Smart helped secure a commitment from the elite recruit.

Mims is six-foot-eight tall and weighs 315 pounds. He has an impressive size for an offensive tackle and has the frame to play in the NFL. He plays high school football at Bleckley County in Cochran, Georgia.

Georgia has now secured a commitment from the top tackle in the class of 2020 and 2021. Matt Luke and the University of Georgia would love to continue their offensive line recruiting dominance for years to come.

Mims chose UGA over Alabama, Oklahoma, FSU, Tennessee, and Auburn. He’s expected to compete for playing time right away at Georgia.

Kirby Smart has rejuvenated Georgia’s offensive front. Georgia is physical in the trenches on both sides of the ball and that will continue for years to come.

Amarius Mims and high school offensive line recruits have to be impressed with UGA’s offensive line in recent years. Two Georgia Bulldog offensive linemen (Isaiah Wilson and Andrew Thomas) were picked in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Georgia football offers middle school DT Elijah Griffin

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a football scholarship to talented recruit Elijah Griffin

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a football scholarship to talented recruit Elijah Griffin. Griffin is a member of the class of 2025, so he’s only an eighth grader.

Griffin already has impressive size and strength for an eighth grader. He’s 6-foot-5 and weights 260 pounds.

Griffin currently plays football for Savannah Christian Preparatory School. He’s only 13 years old right now. Griffin should have a bright future ahead.

Kirby Smart and the University of Georgia aren’t afraid to offer young players very early in their football careers. Griffin has size and speed that aren’t fair at the middle school level. Griffin has some dominant tape on Hudl.

Griffin will continue to grow and should become a top recruit in his class. It is pretty rare for UGA to offer any player a scholarship this early. We’ll keep an eye on Griffin as he adjusts to the high school level in 2021.

Elijah Griffin announced his scholarship offer via his Twitter account. Griffin states that it is his first college offer.

Georgia football offers Marietta freshman CB Jace Arnold

Georgia football has offered class of 2023 CB Jace Arnold out of Marietta High School in Marietta, GA.

Kirby Smart and Georgia football have offered class of 2023 cornerback Jace Arnold out of Marietta High School in Georgia.

Arnold’s national rankings are not available for his class yet, but he is a young, raw prospect, standing at 5-foot-10, 168 pounds.

Arnold is going into his sophomore year at Marietta and still has a lot of time to develop before making his decision of where to play.  He has offers from SEC divisional rivals Florida and Tennessee on top of the offer from the Dawgs he announced on Twitter Thursday.

Arnold was teammates with Tennessee freshman quarterback Harrison Bailey on its 7A Georgia state championship team in 2019. Georgia outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari also attended Marietta, but was not teammates with Arnold.
