MSU football recruiting is fine: Ten recruits who could be added to the 2023 recruiting class

There are a lot of concerns with MSU’s 2023 recruiting class; it’s time for a deep breath. Here are ten recruits that MSU could add to their class before signing day:

There has been a lot of chatter amongst the social media sphere around the state of MSU’s 2023 recruiting class following the departures of Colton Hood and Johnathan Slack. While decommitments are never fun, I am here to do my best Aaron Rodgers impression for the Spartan fan base.

R-E-A-L-A-X.

While being at only 10 commitments is not something the staff wanted to be at, there is still a week until signing day and A LOT is going on behind the scenes.

By the conclusion of the early signing period, I expect Michigan State to get to at least 15 commitments/signees, at a bare minimum.

So the Michigan State fanbase needs to take one collective deep breathe, and strap in for the recruiting ride they are about to go on.

Here are ten prospects Michigan State is firmly in the mix for and could become part of the class:

Recruiting update: Multiple future recruits will attend Ole Miss game this weekend

Eight 2023, 2024, and 2024 recruits will attend the Aggies’ primetime matchup with the 15th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday

The Aggies are gearing up for their primetime matchup with the 15th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday night in what should be a packed Kyle Field as the team hasn’t played in front of the 12th man in 42 days, one of their longest stretches in the program’s history.

Since the start of one of the busiest news weeks for the Aggies season, ranging from player suspensions to season-ending injuries, one of the stories that fell under the radar came to light later in the week, as eight 2023, 2024, and 2024 recruits will visit College Station this weekend, and attend the Ole Miss game set to kick off at 6:30 PM CT. on the SEC Network.

The eight players who will be attending the game are listed as current Texas A&M commit, 2023 defensive tackle David Hicks Jr., 2023 Texas commit Malk Muhammad, 2023 Edge Tomarrian Parker, 2023 Michigan State commit, running back Kedrick Reescano, 2024 quarterback DJ Lagway, 2024 defensive tackle T.A. Cunningham, 2024 linebacker Payton Pierce, and 2025 quarterback Bekkem Kritza.

Yes, Texas A&M is 3-4 and 1-3 in the SEC, but this is one of the most important weekends not only for a team looking to win their first game in nearly a month, but for a staff that needs to impress the eight highly touted recruits in attendance enough for them to really consider the Aggies late in the recruiting process. Gig ’em, and BTHO Ole Miss.

Michigan State football loses commitment of 4-star RB

MSU has lost a critical member of their 2023 recruiting class

Michigan State fans received some bad news on Thursday afternoon when longtime running back commit Kedrick Reescano backed off his commitment with the Spartans.

With his breakout senior campaign, Reescano has been getting a lot of attention from SEC teams vying to flip his commitment.

Michigan State will look to pursue Reescano’s commitment following the decommitment, but the Spartans want to take two running backs in this class. Look for the coaching staff to put pressure on the running back board.

Michigan State football lands commitment from 4-star Texas running back

Michigan State has gained a commitment from a 4-star Texas running back, the second 4-star to start the 2023 recruiting class!

Michigan State has added to its 2023 recruiting class, landing a commitment from 4-star Texas running back Kedrick Reescano. Reescano and Michigan State have been trending upwards for some time now, but after visiting this past weekend on MSU’s ‘Dawg Day’ event, it was enough for Reescano to make a commitment to Michigan State.

Reescano is a native of New Caney, Texas, just outside of Houston. He is currently ranked as a 4-star prospect and the No. 219 overall recruit, as well as the No. 13 running back recruit in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Reescano stands at 6-foot tall and weighing 195 pounds. In his sophomore and junior seasons at New Caney High School, Reescano ran for a combined 2,700 yards on 369 attempts while catching 24 passes for 357 and a combined 40 touchdowns.

Former MSU RB coach William Peagler started the pursuit for the Spartans, building a strong relationship with the Texas running back, and after Peagler’s departure, new RB coach Effrem Reed continued the strong pursuit, closing the deal.

The Spartans beat out the hometown Houston Cougars and Oklahoma State Cowboys for the running back’s commitment.

Reescano joins 4-star TE Brennan Parachek in Michigan State’s 2023 recruiting class.
