Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Cameron Kinnie is a member the high school recruiting class of 2020. He signed with the University of Georgia after being rated as a three-star recruit.

The Collns Hill High School graduate will be tied to Nazir Stackhouse, Jalen Carter, and Warren Brinson. The group represents Georgia’s scholarship defensive tackle signees in the class of 2020.

The Dawgs return Jordan Davis, Julian Rochester, Malik Herring, Travon Walker, and more along the defensive interior. Kinnie will be able to learn from a lot of talented players in Athens. He make a take a couple of seasons to develop and see more playing time, but he’s under some of the best defensive coaches in the country.

Kinnie could additionally see playing time on the offensive side of the trenches. We’ll update you if he ever changes positions. The three-star signee is currently listed as a defensive lineman.

UGA football player card: DL Cade Brock

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Cade Brock is a member of UGA’s highly rated class of 2020.

Height: 6-0

Weight: 250 pounds

Hometown: Subligna, Georgia

High School: Darlington High School

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Cade Brock is a member of UGA’s highly rated class of 2020. He signed with the University of Georgia as a preferred walk-on after being rated as a two-star prospect.

Brock was the high school teammate of Tate Ratledge, a four-star offensive tackle recruit in the class of 2020 who also signed with Georgia.

Throughout his career, the Darlington High School graduate will be tied to Nazir Stackhouse, Jalen Carter, Warren Brinson and Cameron Kinnie. The group represents Georgia’s defensive tackle commitments in the class of 2020.

The Dawgs return Jordan Davis, Julian Rochester, Malik Herring, Travon Walker, and more along the defensive interior. Brock will face a lot of competition for playing time as a freshman, so don’t be shocked if he redshirts as a freshman.

Analyst names UGA’s Jordan Davis as a top SEC interior lineman

SEC Analyst Cole Cubelic names UGA football DT Jordan Davis as one of the league’s top interior lineman.

In addition to the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation for the 2020 cycle, the Georgia Bulldogs have a plethora of talented players returning for the upcoming season.

One of those returners, and a leader for the Dawgs’ defense next year, is defensive tackle Jordan Davis.

SEC Network Analyst Cole Cubelic has gone as far as to call Davis the SEC’s second-best interior defensive lineman for the upcoming season.

Davis played 11 games as a freshman in 2018, making 25 total tackles and six solo. Davis also had 1.5 sacks, earning the Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-American Team and Coaches Freshman All-SEC Team honors.

In 2019, Davis then played 14 games, making 18 tackles, seven solo tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks.

Davis could be even more effective on the defensive line if he cuts weight, which would certainly impress NFL scouts. Becoming more than a great run-stopper is what’s going to be the difference when teams consider Davis in next year’s draft.

The Charlotte native, who stands at 6-foot-6, 330 pounds, will be a junior this year and will be looked up to as a leader by many on the defensive side of the ball.

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jalen Carter came to Athens as one of the top players in the class of 2020.

Class: Freshman

Height: 6-3

Weight: 305 pounds

Hometown: Apopka, Florida

High School: Apopka High School

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jalen Carter came to Athens as one of the top players in the class of 2020. Carter was rated as both a five and four-star prospect according to recruiting services.

At Apopka High School, Carter played tight end, punter, and defensive tackle. He dominated as a senior and recorded 12 sacks. He played at the same high school as NFL legend Warren Sapp.

Carter was quite impressive in camps and against stout competition. Can he hold up as well in the SEC? Not too much will be expected of him as a freshman, but he’s certainly got the talent to break into UGA’s talented front seven.

The Dawgs return Jordan Davis, Julian Rochester, Malik Herring, Travon Walker, and more along the defensive line. Carter will be fun to watch next season.

UGA football player card: DL Warren Brinson

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Warren Brinson played high school football at the prestigious IMG Academy

Warren Brinson, defensive lineman (No. 97):

Class: Freshman

Height: 6-4

Weight: 305 pounds

Hometown: Bradenton, Florida

High School: IMG Academy

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Warren Brinson played high school football at the prestigious IMG Academy. Brinson enrolled early at the University of Georgia.

The four-star recruit will be a part of Georgia’s stout front seven. Brinson is a native of Savannah, Georgia and played football at Savannah Christian before coming to IMG Academy.

Last season, Georgia had the top run defense in the nation and allowed only two rushing touchdowns all season. Brinson will help provide depth and potential for the Dawgs. He’ll be an important player in the future.

Brinson will combine with Malik Herring, Devonte Wyatt, Nolan Smith, Travon Walker, Jermaine Johnson, Azeez Ojulari, Jordan Davis and more to form one of the top defensive fronts in the SEC next season. Dan Lanning’s defense should be a treat to watch.

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jordan Davis is the anchor of Dan Lanning and Kirby Smart’s defensive front. Davis came to Athens as a relatively unheralded three or four-star recruit (depending on the recruiting service). Before coming to UGA, Davis played for North Carolina powerhouse football program Mallard Creek, where he faced some of the top competition in the state.

The run-stopping defensive lineman contributed 2.5 sacks last season. Davis appeared in every game and started eight contests. Davis has recorded 43 total tackles over the first two seasons of his career. He was named a freshman All-American following the 2018 season.

Last season, Georgia had the top run defense in the NCAA and didn’t allow a single rushing touchdown to a running back. Davis was a big part of the reason why the Bulldogs achieved this impressive accomplishment.

Now, Davis will look to combine with Malik Herring, Devonte Wyatt, Nolan Smith, Travon Walker, Jermaine Johnson, Azeez Ojulari, and more to form one of the top defensive fronts in the country.

CFN ranks top-five Georgia defensive players for 2020 season

College Football News ranked the top-five Georgia defensive players for the 2020 season.

Pete Fiutak of College Football News recently previewed the Georgia Bulldogs for the upcoming 2020 season and ranked UGA’s top-five defensive players. 

Here’s how he ranked them:

1. S Richard LeCounte

LeCounte is one of America’s top ranked safety prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft. Through three seasons, two of which saw him as a full-time starter, LeCounte has racked up 150 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions, six pass breakups, five fumble recoveries, and four forced fumbles. LeCounte has established himself as a playmaker on Georgia’s elite defense. Georgia had the top-ranked scoring defense in the nation last season. LeCounte does lose his partner in crime at the safety position, J.R. Reed, though. He’ll miss Reed, but now he’s ready to run the back-end of UGA’s defense. The former five-star recruit has forced a combined nine turnovers over the last two seasons. LeCounte recorded the second most interceptions in the SEC last season with four. He recovered the most fumbles (three) in the league as well. It’ll be a pleasure to watch his last season between the hedges.

Georgia’s Jordan Davis makes list of top 10 2021 NFL Draft DL prospects

In addition to the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation for the 2020 cycle, the Georgia Bulldogs have a plethora of talented players returning for the upcoming season.

One of those returners, and a leader for the Dawgs’ defense next year, is defensive tackle Jordan Davis.

Pro Football Network released its list of the top-10 defensive lineman for the 2021 NFL Draft, and put Davis at No.7 on that list.

Pro Football Network on Davis:

“Jordan Davis is an elite run defender who lacks pass-rush productivity. However, I think Davis has the length and athletic ability to project him as an above-average pass rusher when he develops his hands and counters a bit. He possesses the versatility to play the 3-tech or the nose, and could even play the 5-tech in the 3-4. Davis’ combination of physical upside and scheme versatility make him my highest graded interior lineman from the SEC.”

Four Georgia players make list of SEC’s top-25 2021 NFL Draft prospects

Four Georgia football players named on Athlon Sports list of the top-25 SEC players available in the 2021 NFL Draft

The Southeast Conference set records this year in the 2020 NFL Draft.  For the 14th straight year the SEC had more players drafted than any other conference.

63 players from the SEC were selected by NFL teams with 40 of those going in the first three rounds, including a record setting 15 in the first-round.  The remaining four Power 5 conferences had a total of 48 players drafted.  LSU had 14 players taken in the draft, the most of any SEC school.

Now that the 2020 draft has come and gone, analysts are already starting to predict next year’s outcome.

Athlon Sports released its list of the top 25 SEC players to watch for next year’s draft.  On that list, four Georgia players were named, and one in the top 10.

Incoming transfer senior quarterback Jamie Newman ranked 21st on the list as well as 2nd among SEC quarterbacks.

Newman completed 61% of his passes for 2,868 yards, 26 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and rushed for another 574 yards and 6 touchdowns last season at Wake Forest.  Now he will be bringing his talents to Athens, in hopes to spark the Bulldogs offense to championship form.

Rising junior cornerback Eric Stokes is next, ranked 20th on the list as well as 4th among SEC cornerbacks.

Stokes played a crucial role as a starter on the Dawgs defense last year.  He also saw some starts later on in the 2018 season.  Georgia’s defense finished first in the nation in scoring defense, allowing opponents an average of just 12.6 points per game.

Stokes recorded 58 total tackles, one sack, 18 pass breakups, one forced fumble and two tackles for loss in the past two seasons. Cornerbacks do not usually eye-popping stats, but Stokes is a nightmare for receivers in coverage.

Rising junior cornerback Tyson Campbell comes in at 16th on the list, 3rd among SEC cornerbacks.

Campbell doesn’t quite have his starting job. Last season, D.J. Daniel took over Campbell’s starting spot following the third game of the year.

Campbell is now a veteran and certainly has the talent to contribute to Georgia’s elite defense. He missed five games last season with a turf toe. His position battle with Daniel will be one of Georgia’s most intriguing intra-squad competitions to start the 2020 season. Georgia has solid depth at cornerback either way and Campbell will likely win his job back.

In the top 10 o  the list is rising senior safety Richard LeCounte at the #8 spot.

Last season, LeCounte totaled 61 tackles, with an SEC-best three forced fumbles and tied for second in the conference in interceptions with four picks. LeCounte was responsible for seven of the 15 turnovers created by the Dawgs defense last year, proving himself to be the leader going into the 2020 season.

Athlon Sports also added a list of 25 honorable mentions to keep an eye on, including defensive tackle Jordan Davis, center Trey Hill and linebacker Monty Rice.

Jordan Davis Signs National Letter of Intent with Wisconsin Basketball

Jordan Davis is the latest 2020 member to sign his letter of intent to play basketball for Greg Gard.

After receiving his offer in early June it didn’t take long for Davis and his brother Jonathan to commit to Wisconsin as they added their names to the 2020 class on the same day in June. Jordan Davis made it official on Wednesday by signing his letter of intent to play for his home state Badgers along with his brother Jonathan.

All five players in Wisconsin’s 2020 recruiting class can bring something to the table. For Jordan his defensive game is ahead of his offensive game. Although Jordan will likely redshirt his first year on campus due to the depth at the guard position will allow for Jordan to continue to develop his offensive game while continuing to add strength.

Davis Accolades: Three-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals … as a junior, averaged 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals per game at La Crosse Central, earning first-team all-conference honors and named the team’s defensive player of the year … his sophomore season, averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals per game, garnering first-team all-conference honors … along with brother, Johnny, helped lead Central to the WIAA Division 2 state tournament each of their three years on the varsity team, including a title in 2017 with current Badger Kobe King … on the football field, Davis is also an impressive wide receiver for the Red Raiders, posting 358 receiving yards with 5 TDs through three games before suffering a season-ending injury … hauled in 49 receptions for 873 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior.
