Arizona has had a lot of recent success in the transfer portal. The Wildcats added a commitment from Oregon linebacker Justin Flowe, a former five-star recruit.

Arizona finished the 2022 college football season with a 5-7 record. The Wildcats’ defense struggled at times and should be able to offer a lot of playing time to transfers.

Georgia football DL Netori Johnson picks transfer destination

Georgia Bulldogs lineman Netori Johnson entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this offseason and is now transferring to Middle Tennessee

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Netori Johnson entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this offseason and is now transferring to Middle Tennessee. Johnson was looking to break out during his junior season at Georgia, but didn’t see the field much.

Johnson switched positions to end the 2018 season and now has collegiate  experience on the defensive side of the football. The six-foot-four, 320 pounder came to the University of Georgia as a well-regarded offensive line recruit.

Johnson was impactful in limited playing time throughout 2019, where he played in four games. He recorded a sack against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and secured a fourth down stop against Murray State in 2019. It will be interesting to see if Netori Johnson plays defensive line or offensive line for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

In 2020, Johnson only played in the season opener against the Arkansas Razorbacks. With a conference-only schedule, the Bulldogs had limited playing time available for some of the depth players.

Netori Johnson is a former four-star prospect out of Cedar Grove High School. We wish him the best with Middle Tennessee.

This offseason is unique and will have a lot amount of roster turnover because players don’t lose a year of eligibility for the 2020 college football season. Johnson is one of many Georgia Bulldogs to enter the transfer portal this offseason.

Johnson announced his decision to transfer to Middle Tennessee via his Twitter account:

Georgia football DL Jordan Davis makes NFL Draft decision

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jordan Davis is returning to the University of Georgia for another season

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jordan Davis is returning to the University of Georgia for another season. Davis was projected as a high 2021 NFL Draft pick, but is returning to do some unfinished business.

Davis is literally the biggest player who is returning to Athens for another season. He’ll technically be a junior for the 2021 season. He’s coming off his best game of the 2020 season. Davis recorded a sack, blocked a kick, and had three tackles against Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl. Davis had a tough 2020 season, where he suffered an elbow injury and missed extended time.

Davis is the anchor of Dan Lanning and Kirby Smart’s defensive front. He came to Athens as a relatively unheralded three or four-star recruit (depending on the recruiting service). Before coming to UGA, Davis played for a high school powerhouse football program at Mallard Creek in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The run-stopping defensive lineman contributed 2.5 sacks in 2019. Davis appeared in every game throughout 2019 and started eight contests. He was named a freshman All-American following the 2018 season.

Now, Davis will look to combine with Devonte Wyatt, Nolan Smith, Travon Walker, Adam Anderson, Jalen Carter and more to form one of the top defensive fronts in the country in 2021.

UGA football senior DL announces 2021 return

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt is returning for another senior season at the University of Georgia

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt is returning for another senior season at the University of Georgia. He came to Athens after spending time at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.

Wyatt was a four-star prospect coming out of Towers High School in Decatur, Georgia. He was similarly rated coming out of Hutchinson.

Wyatt played in 12 games during the 2018 season, during which he recorded 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He stepped up his game in 2019 and was a key factor in the Bulldogs’ No. 1-rated run defense. Wyatt had one sack as well in 2019.

This season, Wyatt recorded 21 tackles and several pressures. He started at defensive tackle for much of the year.

The senior defensive lineman has NFL potential, but is choosing to stay in Athens for another chance at the College Football Playoff. Wyatt announced his decision via his Twitter account:

Kirby Smart and Georgia have a defensive boost with Wyatt’s return. The Dawgs are still losing several players in the secondary to the NFL Draft, but have the talent to fill in the gaps.

Georgia football DL Netori Johnson enters transfer portal

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Netori Johnson has entered in the NCAA transfer portal. Johnson is a former four-star recruit for UGA.

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Netori Johnson, who wears No. 72, has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Johnson is Georgia’s third player to enter the portal in recent days. Johnson was looking to break out during his junior season, but he hasn’t seen the field much.

He racked up a sack against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and secured a fourth down stop against Murray State last year.

This season, Johnson has only played in the season opener against the Arkansas Razorbacks. It has been a tough season for depth players on Georgia’s roster. With a conference-only schedule, the Bulldogs haven’t won as many blowouts and that’s limited playing time for some of the lesser known Dawgs.

Netori Johnson will have interest as a transfer. He is a former four-star prospect out of Cedar Grove High School. Where will he go next? We wish him the best.

Johnson can still return to Georgia. It must be noted that not every player who enters the transfer portal ends up transferring. This offseason is projected to have a tremendous amount of roster change because players don’t lose a year of eligibility for the 2020 college football season.

Here’s Johnson’s big sack from the 2019 season:
