Jonathan Echols decommits from Tennessee.

2024 tight end prospect Jonathan Echols committed to USF on Friday.

Echols became Tennessee’s first 2024 commitment on July 4, 2022.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end is from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Echols is a native of Franklin, Georgia where he played at Heard County High School before transferring to IMG Academy.

The early signing period for the 2024 recruiting class will take place Dec. 20-22.

The Vols have 19 commitments in the 2024 class:

Cornerback Kaleb Beasley, defensive lineman Carson Gentle, athlete Marcus Goree Jr., quarterback Jake Merklinger, offensive tackle Jesse Perry, offensive tackle Gage Ginther, safety Edrees Farooq, defensive lineman Jeremias Heard, edge rusher Kellen Lindstrom, running back Peyton Lewis, athlete Boo Carter, linebacker Jordan Burns, offensive lineman Max Anderson, wide receiver Braylon Staley, offensive lineman William Satterwhite, wide receiver Mike Matthews, linebacker Edwin Spillman, offensive lineman Bennett Warren and edge Jordan Ross.

Tennessee has eight 2024 commitments ranked among top 300 prospects: Cornerback Kaleb Beasley, wide receiver Braylon Staley, tight end Jonathan Echols, quarterback Jake Merklinger, running back Peyton Lewis, offensive lineman Max Anderson, safety Marcus Goree and defensive lineman Jeremias Heard.

The Vols have 16 2024 commits, including four-star offensive lineman William Satterwhite. Satterwhite was the first commitment in July for the Vols.

Jonathan Echols reaffirms commitment to Tennessee football.

Tight end Jonathan Echols became Tennessee’s first 2024 commitment on July 4, 2022.

Echols reaffirmed his commitment to the Vols on Thursday.

“My recruitment is 100 percent shut down,” Echols announced.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound tight end is from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Echols is a native of Franklin, Georgia where he played at Heard County High School before transferring to IMG Academy.

Echols is the No. 140 overall prospect and No. 11 tight end in the class of 2024. He ranks as the No. 1 tight end and No. 11 player in Florida, according to On3 Sports industry rankings.

The Vols have 14 commitments in the 2024 recruiting class. Offensive lineman Max Anderson is Tennessee’s latest 2024 commitment.

Michigan State football has extended a scholarship offer to one of the top prospects in the 2024 class.

Four-star edge rusher Jonathan Echols announced on Tuesday that he’s received a scholarship offer from the Spartans. Echols revealed the recruiting news via Twitter.

Echols is ranked as the No. 1 edge rusher and No. 5 overall prospect in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2024 class. He plays for the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

As you could expect, Echols has already received interest from numerous power five programs. He holds scholarships from 25 schools, which include Alabama, Georgia, Miami (FL), Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and Texas A&M.
