The Seattle Seahawks just announced a slew of transactions which will impact their 53-man roster for tomorrow’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Among the moves were two disappointing and oft-injured players being put on the injured reserve list and another veteran who was underperforming getting waived. Three players have been signed off the team’s practice squad to take their places on the roster and two more have been elevated for tomorrow’s game.

Here is a quick review of today’s moves.

Week 17 injury report: 5 players ruled OUT

Safety Jamal Adams will miss his third straight game

The Seattle Seahawks have completed their final practice of the week before they face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last week felt relatively healthy for Seattle, but such is not the case for this coming Sunday.

Among the five players already ruled OUT is safety Jamal Adams, who will miss his third straight game. Injuries have plagued Adams for the majority of his tenure with the Seahawks, and they are continuing against the Steelers.

The good news is rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon, who missed the previous two, is listed as QUESTIONABLE. Fingers crossed he will be able to suit up and contribute in a must-win for Seattle.

The Eagles needed some good vibes at Lincoln Financial Field, and through one half of play, Matt Patricia’s defense has been stout while holding Brian Daboll’s offense to three total points.

On offense, A.J. Brown broke DeVonta Smith’s record for receptions in a season, while Jalen Hurts moved past Cam Newton for rushing touchdowns in a season.

Eagles elevate Tristin McCollum, Brandon Smith from the practice squad for Christmas Day game vs. Giants

Eagles elevate Tristin McCollum, Brandon Smith from the practice squad for Christmas Day game vs. Giants

With Nicholas Morrow and Zach Cunningham dealing with injuries, the Eagles elevated linebacker Brandon Smith from the practice squad for the Christmas Day matchup against the Giants.

Cunningham was ruled out for Monday’s game with a knee injury, while Morrow is questionable with an abdomen injury.

Morrow did not practice all week.

Philadelphia elevated second-year defensive back Tristin McCollum, adding depth on special teams.

McCollum made his NFL debut in Week 4, playing 20 special teams snaps in an overtime victory against the Washington Commanders.

He has spent the rest of the season on the practice squad.

Smith is a second-year linebacker out of Penn State and will make his Eagles debut against the Giants.

A fourth-round Panthers pick in 2022, Smith played 12 games with one start for Carolina last season.

He made five tackles in 53 defensive snaps.

Seahawks Week 16 inactives: Who’s sitting out vs. Titans?

Jamal Adams and several other Seahawks players have been ruled out for today’s game against the Titans.

The Seattle Seahawks are a little over an hour away from kicking off against the Tennessee Titans. At 7-7, this is a must-win for the Seahawks to keep pace with both the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card hunt.

We already knew safety Jamal Adams was ruled out earlier this week, and unfortunately cornerback Devon Witherspoon is joining him. The good news is quarterback Geno Smith will be active.

However, rookie quarterback Will Levis will not be playing for the Titans today. For an offense that routinely struggles to score points, losing their electric young signal caller is a huge blow.

The full inactives list for both team can be seen below:

Seahawks inactives

  • Dee Eskridge
  • Devon Witherspoon
  • Jamal Adams
  • Frank Clark Sr.
  • McClendon Curtis
  • Raiqwon O’Neal
  • Myles Adams

Titans inactives

  • Will Levis
  • Kyle Philips
  • Trevon Wesco
  • Daniel Brunskill
  • TK McClendon
  • Sean Murphy-Bunting
  • K’von Wallace

Tennessee is also without star defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, who was placed on injured reserve yesterday, ending his 2023 season.

Check back after the game for photos, highlights, analysis and more.
