Notre Dame to play annual game vs. Navy at Gillette Stadium in 2026

Make your travel plans now.

Whenever Notre Dame goes on the road to play Navy, a large venue always is in order. There’s a great deal that goes into the history of this rivalry, so a stadium worthy of it is a must.

Halloween 2026 will be the next time the Midshipmen act as the home team in this game, and a stadium new to both the rivalry and the Irish will enter the fold. During that season, the teams will meet at Gillette Stadium, the home of the New England Patriots and Revolution in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The Irish never have played at Gillette Stadium, and this rivalry never has had a game in the New England region. The Midshipmen made their first appearance at the stadium last year for the Army-Navy Game.

This is the second 2026 Irish road game to be scheduled at an NFL stadium. They will open the season against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Irish and Badgers were to meet at the home of the Packers as part of the 2020 Shamrock Series, but COVID-19 squashed those plans. They ultimately met for that game in 2021 at Soldier Field in Chicago, the home of the Bears.

Saints will play the Packers on Monday Night Football in December

The New Orleans Saints will play the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football in December. It’ll be a cold night at Lambeau Field:

The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman reports that the New Orleans Saints will visit the Green Bay Packers for a prime time game on Monday Night Football in Week 16, which should fall on Dec. 23.

So the Saints will get a late-season road trip to Wisconsin in winter. That’s going to be a challenging environment against a team that beat them last year, and that has playoff ambitions after reaching the postseason in 2023.

The Saints have been fortunate to avoid many cold-weather road games over the years, but they did a great job handling the elements in a below-freezing matchup with the Cleveland Browns in 2022. Let’s see if they can repeat that performance in the thick of the NFC playoff race this December.

Derek Carr released from hospital, rejoins teammates for flight home

Derek Carr released from hospital, rejoins Saints teammates for flight home

Here’s some small good news: Derek Carr has been released from a Green Bay hospital and joined his New Orleans Saints teammates for their flight home after Sunday’s loss to the Packers, per Nola.com’s Luke Johnson.

Carr went down with an injured shoulder midway through the game at Lambeau Field and was initially evaluated at the stadium’s X-ray room before being taken to a local hospital for further testing. Hopefully this is a positive sign for his status, but we’ll have to wait and see.

If nothing else it’s good to see he’s been cleared to travel home to New Orleans where he can focus on healing up at the team facility. The exact nature of Carr’s injury and his timetable to return have not been disclosed.

This is a developing story.

Green Bay to host the 2025 NFL draft

Green Bay to host the 2025 NFL draft

[connatix div_id=”3f8b015acdd24c648befc5d5dac47469″ player_id=”afe1e038-d3c2-49c0-922d-6511a229f69c” cid=”7cbcea0d-4ce2-4c75-9a8d-fbe02a192c24″]

One of the original NFL cities is set to host the 2025 NFL draft, as Adam Schefter is reporting that Green Bay will be the host site.

The league announced Monday at the Spring League Meeting that the 2025 NFL Draft has been awarded to Green Bay, Wisconsin, home of the Packers and legendary Lambeau Field.

“The draft has become our biggest offseason event hosted in different cities and spectacular locations across the country, and we are excited to work with the Packers and Discover Green Bay to bring the 2025 NFL Draft to Green Bay and iconic Lambeau field,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement on Monday. “With the help of numerous local partners on the ground, our prospects and fans will be treated to an incredible week-long experience that shows off the city of Green Bay and the state of Wisconsin.”

The 2024 NFL Draft will run April 25-27 in Detriot.

Green Bay will be the ninth NFL city to host the draft since the event left New York City in 2015 (Chicago; Philadelphia; Arlington, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; Cleveland; Las Vegas; Kansas City, Missouri; Detroit).

Changing of the guard in Green Bay: Can the Bears finally take advantage?

The Bears failed to capitalize the last time Green Bay moved on from their franchise QB. Here is why things could be different this time.

The Aaron Rodgers era is officially over for the Green Bay Packers as he’s finally heading east to the New York Jets in a trade that’s been in the works for weeks.

On Monday, it was announced Rodgers would be traded to the Jets involving a bevy of draft picks, giving the 39-year-old quarterback a new home after a period of uncertainty in Green Bay. With Rodgers’ departure comes the end of a dominant division run by the Packers in the NFC North for the last 15 or so years.

Since Rodgers became the full-time starter in Green Bay, the Packers have won the NFC North eight times and made the postseason as a wild card team another three times with varying degrees of playoff success. They also handled the Bears with ease, going 26-5 in the regular season and 1-0 in the postseason. But now with Rodgers gone and Jordan Love taking over, the rivalry is back to a level playing field with the future of the division potentially up for grabs as well.

It’s been 15 years since we’ve seen a changing of the guard in Green Bay, coming back in 2008 when Rodgers took over for Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre. Even with a roster that was one overtime away from going to Super Bowl XLII, the Packers were in a similar transition period that next season and after a couple of up-and-down years, they defied the odds with Rodgers eclipsing Favre’s greatness.

Back then, the Bears couldn’t take full advantage of the small opening as Rodgers settled in. Even winning the NFC North in the 2010 season couldn’t stop him and the Packers as they defeated the Bears in the playoffs as a wild card team on their way to winning Super Bowl XLV.

This time, however, the Bears are more equipped to compete in the revamped NFC North for the foreseeable future thanks to an ascending quarterback, a young roster, and a front office that is getting players to buy into the process.

New York Jets vs Green Bay Game Preview

Why New York Jets Will Win

Can the running game keep doing that?

The offense is still trying to get everything in sync with Zach Wilson, but the ground attack had its two best games of the season and now it’s time to have some fun against the Green Bay defense.

The Jets don’t need to come up with a ton of yards to win. They’re 3-0 when running for 90 yards or more – Breece Hall and Michael Carter look like a potentially devastating tandem – and 0-2 when they don’t.

Green Bay stuffed Tampa Bay, but it allowed 125 rushing yards or more in the other four games. However …

Week 6 CFN NFL Expert Picks

Why Green Bay Will Win

Green Bay doesn’t have a problem overcoming rough days from the defense – sort of.

It let the Giants back in the game last week in the stunning 27-22 loss, but weird things happen in London. The offense should be balanced against the Jets, Aaron Rodgers’ thumb is fine, here comes the 1-2 punch of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.

Commit to the run against the Jets and good things happen, but this is about Rodgers. He has been okay, and the problems have mostly been blamed on his receivers, but if he’s sharper, everything else works.

Week 6 NFL Schedule, Predictions, Game Previews

What’s Going To Happen

Can Green Bay play a full four quarters? It has a weird way of looking unstoppable for stretches and then comes the coffee break. After what happened against the Giants, the foot will be on the gas the whole way.

The Packer defensive front will get to Zach Wilson early on, Rodgers will lead the way to two early scoring drives, and for the first time – and this includes the Chicago game, to a point – Green Bay will be able to relax a wee bit late.

Green Bay Police Department reviewing incident with Packers RB A.J. Dillon

The Green Bay Police Department is reviewing an incident involving a physical confrontation between an officer and Packers RB A.J. Dillon at Lambeau Field.

The Green Bay Police Department has begun an internal review of a confrontational incident between an officer and Packers running back A.J. Dillon during Saturday’s soccer match at Lambeau Field, according to TMZ Sports.

An officer was seen grabbing and later pushing Dillon, who was on the field attempting to hype the crowd with a Lambeau Leap during a weather delay.

A spokesperson of the department to TMZ: “The Green Bay Police Department appreciates the perspective and supportive words from Mr. Dillon. The Green Bay Police Department Professional Standards/Internal Affairs Division has initiated a review of this incident.”

Chief Chris Davis of the department later sent this tweet on Monday:

Dillon helped explain the bizarre incident – which was caught on video by several attendants of the event – in a series of tweets. The Packers running back classified the confrontation with the officer as nothing more than a “miscommunication.”

Packers president Mark Murphy called the incident “unfortunate” on Monday.

Saturday’s match between Manchester City and Bayern Munich was the first soccer event at Lambeau Field in the stadium’s history. Man City won the abbreviated contest, 1-0. Two weather delays halted the action.

Dillon is a third-year running back from Boston College who has quickly become a fan favorite in Green Bay. He led the Packers in rushing last season.

Former Georgia LB Quay Walker admits to losing confidence with Packers

“That’s the main thing is trying to get my confidence back,” Walker said. “Just believing there’s a reason I’m here as well.”

“I don’t want to get above myself. I just want to keep a level head and stay neutral at all times,” former Georgia linebacker Quay Walker said after the first day of rookie minicamp with the Green Bay Packers in May.

Walker, who was picked at No. 22 overall by the Packers in April’s NFL draft, is staying humble despite his early draft selection and high expectations.

The Packers’ first off-ball linebacker taken in the first round since AJ Hawk in 2006, Walker got off to a hot start with his new team.

As the summer has progressed, Walker has made it a focus of his to closely study his new veteran teammates, linebackers De’Vondre Campbell and Krys Barnes.

“I pick up a whole lot, to be honest with you,” Walker said. “He doesn’t know it, but I watch him a whole lot. Just trying to learn a lot from him — how he goes about his day, how he gets treatment in between meetings, and the things he does. So, I just try to pick up off him, everything. Not only him, but Krys (Barnes) as well. Those two guys are very good guys that I just try to learn everything I can from.”

Walker admitted to losing some confidence since arriving in Green Bay, and said he is focused on regaining that as we approach the 2022 NFL season. Walker understands he was picked in the first round for a reason, but he said he had a difficult time adjusting to the next level.

“No doubt,” Walker said. “That’s one thing I really want to work on. I kind of lost some of my confidence when I got here because I was just unsure of what was going on and trying to get a good feeling. You know how it is when I’m in a new organization and a new defense. Things like that. It’s similar to what we did in college, but still new things. That’s the main thing is trying to get my confidence back. Just believing there’s a reason I’m here as well. This is the top level of football period. I just have to trust and believe in that, and my teammates as well, for them to count on me. Just go from there.”

At Georgia, Walker was a tackling machine, finishing fourth on the team with 63 total tackles.

“I’m learning a new defense and these are veteran guys I’m playing with, these are grown men, so it’s going to be a little different,” Walker said back in May.

Walker’s saying all the right things. Georgia’s defense was maybe the best in the history of college football last year, but the NFL is a whole new animal. Yet Walker has lived up to expectations in his very short time with the team so far.
