Prediction

Pelicans 122, Kings 118

Moneyline (ML)

Both teams have identical records but the Pelicans enter the game as favorites at -121, although the Kings are even money at +100. The Kings have won seven of their last 10 overall, while New Orleans has gone 5-5. Sacramento is 14-17 at home this season, while the Pelicans are 15-17 on the road. New Orleans has been money as road favorites. They are 7-1 this season when favored on the road. The Kings are 8-9 as home dogs.

Take the Pelicans to win this game at -121.

New to sports betting? A $1.21 wager on the Pelicans returns a profit of $10.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Pelicans are slight favorites at -1.5 (-110). They have been solid on the road overall going 17-13-2 ATS away from home. That improves to 7-1 ATS as road favorites. The Kings are 12-17-2 ATS overall at home but 8-7-2 ATS as home dogs. They are 7-2-1 ATS over their last 10 games. The Pelicans have covered the spread in each of their last three games.

New Orleans’ ATS record as road favorites is too good to ignore. Take the Pelicans -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The total is set at 233.5 points Wednesday night. The two teams played earlier this season and combined for 232 points in a win by the Pelicans. Sacramento’s games have gone Over in four straight games. New Orleans’ games have gone Under in their last two games and in five of eight. But the Kings are 17-14 O/U at home and the Pelicans are 18-14 O/U on the road. Expect a lot of points and hit the OVER 233.5 (-106) in this game.

Prediction

Raptors 116, Kings 113

Moneyline (ML)

The Raptors (-250) spoiled Stephen Curry’s comeback game for the Golden State Warriors by beating them 121-113 Thursday. Tonight’s game in Sacramento is their fourth game of a five-game Western Conference road trip. The Kings (+200) picked up a huge 123-111 win Saturday at the Portland Trail Blazers.

Sacramento kept close and covered in their first game against the Raptors Nov. 6, losing 124-120. Each team was close to full health in the first one but Toronto could be without two starters that played in that game (Gasol and VanVleet) while the Kings got breakout C Richaun Holmes back last night against the Trail Blazers. He had 10 point sand eight boards in 19 minutes in his first game back and should be reclaiming the starting center position from Harry Giles within a few games.

If anything, I’d say bet the Kings (+200) who have won seven of nine games but the Raptors are 15-1 straight up as a road favorite with a 7.4-point average margin of victory. Plus, Toronto’s non-conference record (14-8) is much better than Sacramento’s (8-15). Officially I say PASS ON THE MONEYLINE.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The trends line up nicely for Sacramento versus Toronto. The Raptors are 6-13 against the spread in the last 19 meetings in Sacramento and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. Also, Toronto doesn’t take advantage of having a rest advantage on their opponent as they are 3-11 ATS in such situations.

Furthermore, the Kings are 7-2 ATS, with an 8-point ATS margin per game, on the second game of back-to-backs. Sacramento is 4-0 ATS in their last four games as a home underdog and 5-0 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days.

LIKE KINGS +5.5 (+100) at home. New to sports betting? Bet $100 on Kings +5.5 to earn a $100 profit if they win or lose by fewer than six points.

Over/Under (O/U)

Both teams have played to more Overs than Unders this season—Toronto has a 33-28-1 Over/Under record and Sacramento is 33-30 O/U—and both have increased their scoring after the All-Star break. Sacramento went from 107.9 points per game to 115 PPG and Toronto went from 112.9 PPG to 114.3 PPG. Additionally, they’ve each gone Over the projected total in their last three games entering Sunday’s contest.

I am nervous about the Kings’ ability to score on tired legs—they are playing a fourth game in six nights—so it’s only a slight lean on OVER 226.5 (-110).

Philadelphia 76ers at Sacramento Kings odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Thursday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Sacramento Kings sports betting odds, with NBA matchup analysis and picks.

76ers at Kings: Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full set of today’s betting odds. Odds last updated at 1:45 p.m. ET.

Prediction

Kings 120, Sixers 108

Moneyline (ML)

The 76ers (+170) enter the third game of their four-game west coast road trip against the Kings (-209) losing back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Clippers, 136-130, Sunday and the Los Angeles Lakers, 120-107, Tuesday. Sacramento comes in on a three-game winning streak, and winning six of its last seven games, including a 133-126 victory over the Washington Wizards on March 3. This is going to be the fourth straight game without franchise stars Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. Their only win was at home against the New York Knicks, 115-106, Feb. 27.

Since the Kings are one of the five teams trying to run down the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference playoffs, this game is pivotal and there is no way they should snooze on a Philadelphia team down three starters. Sacramento should keep their momentum going and get an easy W over the injury-depleted 76ers. AVOID the moneyline because Kings (-209) is too chalky, and the 76ers (+170) isn’t a good enough payout.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

HAMMER THE KINGS -5.5 (-110) because of how bad the 76ers are on the road and their defensive freefall without Simmons and Embiid in the lineup. In the three games without their stars, Philadelphia is ranked 26th in opponents’ points per game and three-point percentage, and last in opponents’ field goal percentage and opponents’ points in the paint.

Philadelphia is the worst road team, and road underdog, against the spread in the NBA. They are 8-22-2 ATS on the road and 4-11-1 ATS when they are an away dog. Also, the 76ers have the second-worst ATS record when playing on equal rest at 10-17-3.

Over/Under (O/U)

slightly LEAN OVER 218.5. I described Philadelphia’s defensive struggles since Simmons and Embiid went down, but the Kings have been scoring more since the All-Star Break. Sacramento has increased their points per game from 107.9 to 114.9 per since the break. Furthermore, the combined Over/Under record of the officiating crew assigned to this game is 74-46.

Wizards at Kings: Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Kings 121, Wizards 113

Moneyline (ML)

The Kings (-228) will look to win for the sixth time in the past seven outings against the struggling Wizards (+185). It’s a soft part of the schedule which looks awfully favorable for the home side. Still, it’s not good for business to risk more than two times your return. AVOID, and look to the line.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The KINGS (-5.5, -110) failed to cover the spread last game against the Pistons but did win, 106-100. Still, they’re 5-1 ATS across the past six overall, and 4-1 ATS in the past five on their home floor. And, for what it’s worth, the Wizards (+5.5, -110) are 1-4-1 ATS in their past six treks to California’s capital city.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 232.5 (-110) is a good play, although it might inch over the line very, very late. I’d go with a small-unit wager here, as I’m a lot more confident in the line. The over is 4-1 in Washington’s past five overall, but the under has hit in five straight for Sacramento and 7-1 in the past eight against losing teams. Still, the over is 7-3 in Sactown’s past 10 on their home floor.

Pistons at Kings: Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated Sunday at 10:45 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Kings 110, Pistons 101

Moneyline (ML)

The Kings (-334) have been on a roll, posting four straight-up wins in the past five, and they have covered five in a row. Look for them to steamroll the skidding Pistons (+260), although laying more than three times your return is not recommended. AVOID, and look to the line.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Kings ML returns a profit of just $3 if they win.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Take the KINGS (-7.5, -110) at home, as they’re 5-0 ATS in the past five overall, 4-0 ATS in the past four at Golden 1 Center against teams with a losing road record and 6-0 ATS in the past six against teams with a losing overall mark. The Pistons (+7.5, -110) have covered four of the past five, but they’re just 15-25-1 ATS in the past 41 as an underdog. They’re also just 2-5-2 ATS in the past nine meetings against the Kings.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 216.5 (-110) is the play lately for the Kings, hitting in four in a row for Sactown. The Under is also 9-4 in the previous 13 meetings between these clubs, and 13-3-1 in the past 17 battles in Sacramento.

Prediction

Grizzlies 123, Kings 114

Moneyline (ML)

Each team has won a game in the season series with the Kings taking the last game 128-123 in Sacramento Jan. 2. But Memphis has a better record on the road (12-13) than Sacramento has at home (11-15). Memphis also has a huge motivational edge over Sacramento. The Kings’ season is effectively over with them currently seeded 13th in the West and seven games back of the Grizzlies for the final playoff spot. The Grizzlies are hearing the naysayers talk about their inexperience, motivating them to prove the doubters wrong with a goal of by holding off the surging Portland Trail Blazers and the hyped-up New Orleans Pelicans (with Zion Williamson in the lineup). The Grizzlies knows they need to win this one with their next games at the top-seeded Los Angeles Lakers Friday and at the third-seeded LA Clippers Monday. Bet the GRIZZLIES -115.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

PASS. Stick with the Grizzlies to win outright. There’s no point of stressing a measly 1.5 points (and an ATS loss in that spot hurts) and in laying -106 for the Grizzlies to win by at least 2 points.

However, here are some ATS trends that further support my moneyline handicap:

  • Memphis has been fantastic this season in similar situations: The Grizzlies are 8-1 ATS in games where favored between 1-2.5 points. Sacramento hasn’t been too shabby though on the other side of that trend; the Kings are 7-4 ATS when getting 1-2.5 points.
  • The Grizzlies are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite.
  • Memphis is 6-1 ATS in their last seven games vs. a team with a losing straight-up record.
  • The Grizzlies are a better ATS road team than the Kings are at home: Memphis is 8-6 ATS against teams below .500 and Sacramento is 4-6-1 ATS when hosting above .500 teams.

Over/Under (O/U)

The first two Grizzlies-Kings meetings this season have went Over the projected total. The Grizzlies have a 13-12 O/U road record and the Kings have a 13-13 O/U home record. Plus, the officiating crew slated to ref this game has a combined 55-40 O/U record this season. But the Under is 17-7 in the last 24 meetings so I’m only leaning toward OVER 229.5 (-110)

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full set of today’s betting odds. Odds last updated at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Kings 119, Thunder 115

Moneyline (ML)

The KINGS (+125) are coming off a historic victory last time out in the Twin Cities. They rallied from a 17-point deficit with just 2:49 remaining in the fourth quarter before forcing overtime and winning in the extra session. They’ll be looking to build upon that momentum against the Thunder (-154), who were dumped 107-97 Monday night.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The KINGS (+2.5, -106) are near even money with one bucket of insurance in the event of a loss. While the Thunder (-2.5, -115) are 20-7 ATS in the past 27 games on the road, they’re just 2-7 ATS in the past nine meetings against the Kings. Even though Sacto is just 2-10-1 ATS in the past 13 games at home, they’ll build off of that momentum from last time out for a nice straight-up win.

Over/Under (O/U)

All trends point overwhelming to an OVER 220.5 (-115) play.

The Over is 7-3 in OKC’s past 10 games overall, and 6-2 in their past eight following a straight-up loss. The Over is 7-1 in Sacto’s past eight games overall, 5-1 in the past six at home and 7-3 in the past 10 following a cover last time out. The Over is also 7-2 in the past nine meetings in California’s capital city, too.

Mavericks at Kings: Odds, lines, picks and betting tips

NBA odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full set of today’s betting odds. Odds last updated Wednesday at 2:10 p.m. ET.

Prediction

Kings 121, Mavericks 111

Moneyline (ML)

The injury report is crucial with both Kristaps Porzingis and Marvin Bagley set to return for the Mavericks and Kings, respectively. Could Porzingis’ return mess up the chemistry? Dwight Powell has filled in nicely for Porzingis, scoring 13 points per game on .719 field-goal percentage in the last eight games Porzingis has missed.

But as of now, back the KINGS +145 to end their two-game losing streak and beat the Mavericks, who’ve won back-to-back games. Sacramento has had recent success versus the Mavericks, winning the last four games straight up and against the spread. De’Aaron Fox hears the Luka Doncic hype and shows up to play against him:

[protected-iframe id=”c87e9eb0fd566f168a56cb831f389abf-159279292-75965725″ info=”https://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=bbr&url=%2Fplay-index%2Fh2h_finder.cgi%3Frequest%3D1%26player_id1_select%3DDe%2527Aaron%2BFox%26player_id1%3Dfoxde01%26idx%3Dplayers%26player_id2_select%3DLuka%2BDoncic%26player_id2%3Ddoncilu01%26idx%3Dplayers&div=div_stats” ]

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

Not only have the Kings owned the Mavericks outright recently, but they have a decided edge ATS, as well. The Mavericks are 5-17 ATS in the last 22 meetings and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games in Sacramento. The Kings are 3-0 when spotted 3-4.5 points. Also, Sacramento brings full effort in games and makes it tough for their opponents to get hustle points; they rank third in opponent’s second-chance points, second in opponent’s fast-break points and 11th in opponent’s points in the paint.

BET KINGS +3.5 (-106) for some insurance on our moneyline bet. New to sports betting? A $106 wager on the Kings to win by at least 4 points returns a profit of $100.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Mavericks have been getting buckets all season long:  Dallas is ranked first in offensive rating, has the third-highest Over % with a 24-16 over/under record, and scores the third-most PPG in the NBA. On the other side, the Kings offense has shown up as of late in scoring at least 110 points in five of its last six games. Also, Mavericks-Kings games have trended Over recently; the Over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings.

BET OVER 226.5 (-129).

Prediction

Magic 111, Kings 106

Moneyline (ML)

The MAGIC (+110) are a nice value as short ‘dogs on the road against a Kings (-133) team which has won just two of their past nine games at home. Orlando lost a heartbreaker in Phoenix last time out over the weekend, falling 98-94 while covering the spread. The Magic have won a respectable five of the past 11 straight up away from home.

New to sports betting? Every $10 wagered on the Magic ML will profit $11 if they win.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The MAGIC (+1.5, -106) have cashed in five of the past six games against the number, while going 7-3-1 ATS in the past 11 on the road. Orlando is also 13-3 ATS in the past 16 on the road against teams with a losing home mark, too.

The Kings (-1.5, -115) have cashed in just four of their last 13 games overall, and are 3-8 ATS in the past 11 as a favorite. Sacto has also cashed in just two of its previous 11 at home, too.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 210.5 (-106) is where it’s at. The Over has cashed in five of the past seven road games for Orlando, while hitting in five of the past seven for Sacto as a favorite.

Prediction

Kings 109, Warriors 104

Moneyline (ML)

As juicy as the Warriors are at +425, you have to PASS on the moneyline in this game. The implied probability of a Warriors straight-up win is 19% and, with all the line value, it’s just too risky of a play. BetMGM expects the Kings (-589) to win but obviously, we aren’t betting those odds, ever.

New to sports betting? A $10 on the Kings to win outright returns a profit of $1.70. This is called a chalk play.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

It’s tough to discuss trends when it comes to the Warriors because of how riddled with injuries they are. For example, the Kings are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 meetings against the Warriors, but they are just 3-7 straight up. In their first and only meeting this season, the Kings dominated the Warriors, 100-79. The Warriors have had success in similar betting situations (7-3 ATS when getting 10-plus points), while the Kings have yet to be favored by more than 10 points this season.

I’m on the WARRIORS (+10.5, -106) because the Kings shouldn’t be laying 10-plus to any team. I get it, the Warriors are banged up, but the Kings are 2-7 ATS as home favorites with a minus-1.2 margin of victory, and they are minus-6.5 against the line.

Over/under (O/U)

The main reason to take UNDER 216.5 (-106) is simple: Both teams have been trash on offense. The Warriors rank 26th in points per game and 29th in offensive rating, while the Kings are 24th and 21st, respectively, in the same categories. Considering the Warriors’ injury woes, the backups are trying to earn rotation minutes when the starters come back or garner interest from other teams, so we are getting a full-on effort from the Dubs.
