DJ Khaled shows off new custom gear gifted to Michigan basketball team

Wish these were available to the public! 🔥#GoBlue

Michigan basketball may not be doing well when it comes to its play on the court, but at least the team will be in fashion.

It’s been some time since prolific pop music producer DJ Khaled came to Ann Arbor to help the Wolverines unveil the basketball team’s brand new Jordan brand jerseys in 2016. That evening at Crisler Center, he DJed a set while donning maize and blue, but now he’s the one giving back to those with the program.

Now that former Miami Heat player and assistant Juwan Howard is the head coach of the program, he’s someone who has a relationship with the Miami-based DJ, and that perhaps prompted the producer to gift some new jackets to the team.

’We The Best’ is DJ Khaled’s company and seeming battle cry he often shouts throughout songs he produces. He appears to have taken a liking to the program given that he’s custom made these jackets emblazoned with not only the traditional Block M, but using an inverted M for the logo on the back of the jacket.

DJ Khaled expresses desire to create NASCAR Cup Series organization

DJ Khaled expresses his desire to create a NASCAR Cup Series organization. Find out what Khaled had to say and what he would name the team!

[autotag]DJ Khaled[/autotag] was supposed to wave the green flag for the 2024 Daytona 500; however, the weather ruined those plans. Khaled couldn’t stick around until Monday evening after NASCAR postponed the Daytona 500 due to the weather forecast. It was a disappointing development for NASCAR, who acquired a star-studded lineup of pre-race celebrities.

However, Khaled did stay for his press conference with reporters on Sunday. It was great to hear about the 48-year-old’s fascination with NASCAR and he even teased something very interesting. Khaled said he could envision a time when he returns to the Daytona 500 but as an owner like Pitbull and Michael Jordan.

“I would love to be a [NASCAR] team owner,” Khaled said. “Look at Michael Jordan, the beautiful things he’s doing. All the other great team owners. One day, God willing, I’ll have a ‘We the Best’ car out there, bringing home a trophy.”

Khaled, the NASCAR team owner, would be an outstanding addition alongside Jordan, Pitbull, Justin Marks, and more. We the Best Racing? We the Best Motorsports? It’s currently undetermined; however, NASCAR would benefit from adding Khaled to his ownership group. If he cares as much as he says, it would continue to add popularity to the sport.

DJ Khaled to wave the green flag for the 2024 Daytona 500

DJ Khaled will wave the green flag for the 2024 Daytona 500, joining Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Pitbull, and Miss America in a star lineup.

NASCAR has already hit a grand slam before the week of racing at Daytona International Speedway. On Monday afternoon, the superspeedway announced that [autotag]DJ Khaled[/autotag] will wave the green flag for the 2024 Daytona 500. Klahed is a GRAMMY award-winning DJ, artist, and music producer who joins a star-studded lineup.

Alongside Khaled, NASCAR has acquired Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the Grand Marshal, Miss America as the honorary pace car driver, and Pitbull as the pre-race performer. It is an incredible lineup that NASCAR has never seen in its history. Four of the most well-known celebrities in the world will be present at the Daytona 500.

Khaled will also join forces with longtime Trackhouse Racing sponsor Wendy’s to promote the company’s Biggie Bag. When NASCAR heads to Daytona this weekend, he will be involved in multiple aspects. Overall, NASCAR has hit the ball out of the park when it comes to acquiring big names, and hopefully, the racing is just as good.

Jimmy Butler wants to record an astonishing 200 songs for his upcoming country music album

Jimmy Butler wants to become the DJ Khaled of country music.

Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is a man of many talents and we may soon find out if music is one of his skills.

Butler, who has previously told us that he averages a perfect score whenever he goes bowling, revealed that he is recording a country music album. It is no secret Butler loves country music (and blasting whatever it is that he is in the mood to listen to in the locker rooms) but this is a surprising revelation.

During a recent feature published by Claire de Lune, however, we learned Butler is already fairly far along in this process. Although he already has more than enough songs for an album, Butler aims to have “around 200” songs to choose from before he releases the project.

Here is more from the insightful story (via The Guardian):

“He’s been quietly working on his own country album for over a year, he says, and while he’s already amassed about 60 (!) songs for the project, he aims to have recorded around 200 to choose from when all is said and done.”

That is a staggering amount of music to record while also playing basketball at the most competitive level, but it will give him a lot of options whenever he is ready to make these recordings public.

If you were hoping to hear Butler’s singing voice on this, unfortunately, you are probably out of luck.

While his fingerprints will be all over the record, Butler sees himself more as a songwriter and as a producer:

He’s unlikely to sing on the album though, as he sees himself in more of a songwriter/producer role (“I’m like the DJ Khaled of this thing,” he deadpans). Butler genuinely admires Khaled’s skill as a curator, telling me, “He’s a crazy talented individual. To bring all these artists together and to have them be able to maintain the egos and be like, ‘Yo, look, this is what we’re trying to get done here,’ he’s mastered it. I freaking love DJ Khaled. ‘We are the best,’ as he would say.”

It is a bummer we won’t hear him singing but this should be a lot of fun.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: The DJ Khaled Air Jordan 5 might be Nike’s biggest disappointment of the year

These Air Jordan 5’s should’ve done so much better.

The DJ Khaled Air Jordan 5 was one of the more hyped shoes of 2022. Or, at least it felt like it, anyway.

Nike threw plenty of promotion behind the sneakers. And it’s a DJ Khaled collaboration, so it automatically came with the sort of fanfare and excitement you’d see around one of the hottest sneakers of the year.

But when release day came, nobody seemed to show up. The shoes sat on virtual shelves. There were plenty of pairs available for consumers to buy.

A couple of weeks after that, the shoes started popping up in Nike outlets across the country. That doesn’t happen often — especially not with collaborations.

So why did it happen here? We try to figure it out on today’s episode of Special Delivery. Tap in.

It looked like Marcus Smart trolled DJ Khaled by wearing the same outfit but this is way too expensive for that

Wow. Whole lotta money on the sideline.

Marcus Smart is one of the most clever basketball players out there on the court. That’s how he won the Defensive Player of the Year award — he’s a skilled defender, but also a smart one.

So it’s natural to thing that same cunning skill he has is probably also applied in certain ways off the court. He seems like the type of dude who would be a master troll.

I mean, who else would wear a DPOY robe to a game after winning the award?

So when someone noticed that Marcus Smart was wearing the same shirt Miami Heat superfan DJ Khaled wore to the Heat’s Game 5 against the 76ers, I immediately thought, “wow, he’s definitely doing this on purpose. What a troll.”

I mean, look at it. It’s the same shirt. But also with the pants, too? What are the chances, right?

Well, folks. As it turns out, the chances were probably pretty high. Because they’re both rich. And, of course, rich people shop at the same spaces because that’s the type of money they have.

That shirt right there? That’s DIOR. It cost $2,100 alone. That’s without the pants, y’all. And Smart has on the pants.

Ain’t no trolls going on here. This is nothing but money talk. Talk that, clearly, I do not understand.

As far as who wore it better, I kind of think we have to go with Smart here, right? I mean, he’s got the whole ensemble down. Shirt, pants, kicks. He’s just killing that.

It’s a nice shirt on Khaled but the white shorts don’t give it as much flare as it did when Smart wore it. So, yeah. we’re definitely going with Smart here.

Shoutout to them both, though. Let me hold a dollar, y’all.

DJ Khaled pulled a Drake!

Kobe Bryant, DJ Khaled attend Barclays Center for Nets-Hawks

Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant decided to take in the Brooklyn Nets’ matchup with the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night.

The Atlanta Hawks aren’t exactly the best team the Brooklyn Nets have hosted at Barclays Center so far in the 2019-20 season. This only makes it all the more strange that Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was in attendance for Saturday night’s game.

On Thursday, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Bryant is among the candidates being considered for the class 2020. Legendary San Antonio Spurs power forward Tim Duncan and former Brooklyn Nets big man Kevin Garnett are also candidates to be inducted in the upcoming year.

As for why Bryant was around for Saturday’s game, it may have had more to do with the Hawks than the Nets, even though he sat right beside Kenny Atkinson and his staff, and has trained Kyrie Irving.

As the Hawks broadcast team on Fox Sports Southeast shared Bryant “knows Trae Young well,” and Bryant’s daughters are also fans of Young.

And it turns out DJ Khaled was in attendance and caught up with Anthony Puccio of Nets Daily:

The stars are starting to take notice of what’s brewing in Brooklyn.
