NFL Week 4: How to watch, wager, and stream Saints at Lions

The New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions are poised for their Week 4 kickoff at Ford Field. Here is how you can watch, wagers, and stream it

After some late-night shenanigans surrounding a false positive COVID-19 test result, the New Orleans Saints are preparing for their Week 4 road game with the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. It’s the first time the Saints made the trip up to Motown since 2014, and they have a lot on the line with a 1-2 record.

NFL broadcast coverage maps, Week 4: Saints at Lions

The New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions game broadcast will be limited to their respective local markets for Week 4 of the 2020 NFL season.

[jwplayer ud6pPAp2-ThvAeFxT]

Will your local Fox affiliate be broadcasting the New Orleans Saints game this week? If you don’t live in the New Orleans or Detroit markets, probably not.

That’s illustrated in Week 4’s broadcast maps from 506sports, which has Saints-Lions coverage shown in yellow where we’ve embedded it below. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and large swaths of Georgia and the Florida panhandle will be receiving the next Saints game, as will Michigan and most of its Upper Peninsula (though a few localities along the Minnesota border will be watching Vikings-Texans, denoted in green).

Additionally, this will be the first Saints game that Jonathan Vilma will be working for Fox Sports since leaving ESPN earlier this year. He’s teamed up with Kenny Albert on play-by-play in the booth, offering his input as an analyst. The Saints and Lions will be kicking off at noon.

This week’s map is hardly unanimous. With six different games to be shown on Fox Sports across the country, various affiliates will be splitting interests to a fairly wide degree. Most of America will be tuned in to Browns-Cowboys, marked in red:

The other games shown in the New Orleans market this week include a double-header on CBS, with the Buccaneers and Chargers playing early followed by Chiefs-Patriots. The Eagles and 49ers will continue their wars of attrition on “Sunday Night Football” while the Falcons and Packers prepare for Monday night’s game.

NFL Week 3: How to watch, listen, and wager Saints vs. Packers

The New Orleans Saints will play the Green Bay Packers on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” with Mike Tirico stepping in for Al Michaels.

[jwplayer tv4U8BAy-ThvAeFxT]

The NFL’s slate of Week 3 Sunday games is headlined by the 1-1 New Orleans Saints and the 2-0 Green Bay Packers, who will meet for the third time in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome during Aaron Rodgers’ tenure. Rodgers has lost both of his previous trips in 2008 and 2014, but many NFL experts are forecasting his first win on the road against Drew Brees.

But New Orleans has its back against the wall. Losing back-to-back games this early on wouldn’t be ideal, especially with Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers rallying from their loss to the Saints in Week 1. It’s important for the Saints to get back into rhythm.

Interestingly, this game will not be called by the usual “Sunday Night Football” broadcasting team; color analyst Cris Collinsworth will be joined by play-by-play man Mike Tirico, filling in for Al Michaels.

Saints-Raiders Monday night game to be simulcast on ESPN, ABC

The New Orleans Saints will visit the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football in a much-hyped Week 2 game simulcast on ESPN and ABC.

[jwplayer Of7ToV5c-ThvAeFxT]

The NFL and its broadcast partners are pulling out all the stops for Week 2’s headlining game. When the New Orleans Saints visit the Las Vegas Raiders at the brand-new Allegiant Stadium, their kickoff on “Monday Night Football” will be simulcast to a national audience on ESPN and ABC, with an alternate broadcast featuring guest stars on ESPN2, and Spanish-language coverage on ESPN Desportes.

While the main broadcast on ESPN and ABC will be led by a three-man booth of Steve Levy, Brian Griese, and Louis Riddick with Lisa Salters reporting from the sidelines, Raiders greats Tim Brown, Gene Upshaw, and Art Shell will join a cast of sports, music, and entertainment personalities on ESPN2 to discuss the game and the Raiders’ move to Las Vegas. Expect plenty of features showcasing Allegiant Stadium, the NFL’s newest venue, too.

Viewership ratings took a hit over last year’s Monday night opener, with a sleepy Steelers-Giants game followed by a Titans-Broncos nightcap failing to draw a crowd. The top storyline of the night was whether Titans kicker Stephen Gostkowski’s Hall of Fame candidacy was threatened by four missed field goals at Mile High Stadium; maybe Drew Brees and the Saints will catch more attention after setting a four-year high in TV ratings for FOX last week.

Saints’ win over Bucs was highest-rated FOX NFL opener in 4 years

The New Orleans Saints drew a huge audience in their Week 1 game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the highest NFL on FOX broadcast since 2016.

[jwplayer vrTXrwWO-ThvAeFxT]

So much for all that chatter about a boycott. FOX Sports reported an overnight rating of 16.2 from its Week 1 game between the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a four-year high for the season’s first FOX NFL Game of the Week.

This game received a higher viewership rating than its 2019 counterpart (15.9), and projects to rank best among all national telecasts since Super Bowl LIV earlier this year once all markets report their individual ratings. It turns out that Drew Brees and Tom Brady can still draw a crowd.

It will be fascinating to track each team’s progress over the course of the 2020 season; while Brees and the Saints were self-critical in looking for ways to improve and clear up their remaining weaknesses, Brady and the Buccaneers must reevaluate their own areas of strength to find what went wrong.

For now, the Saints are sitting alone on top of the NFC South standings, and they’re hoping to hold onto that spot as they prepare for Week 2’s Monday Night Football game with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are visiting the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to open the 2020 NFL season, but they’ll be taking the field with a new face at quarterback: Tom Brady. It’s shaping up for a duel between two Hall of Fame-bound quarterbacks when Brady takes the stage against Drew Brees, and all eyes are on New Orleans as we gear up for Week 1.

How to watch Day 3 of the 2020 NFL Draft, and what Saints fans can watch instead

The New Orleans Saints traded all of their picks in the final four rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft, but there’s still plenty for Saints fans.

[jwplayer KrcAJiDO-ThvAeFxT]

The final four rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft are set to begin on Saturday, and New Orleans Saints fans could be forgiven if they choose to just loop Adam Trautman’s college highlights for the next seven hours. The team shocked the world late Friday night by trading each of their four remaining draft picks to get back into the third round, allowing them to select the Dayton tight end with 178 catches on his resume.

But we shouldn’t count the Saints out just yet. They’ve traded future year draft picks to acquire new players before, and that might come into play on Saturday. And with so many players with ties to New Orleans, Louisiana, and the greater Gulf South, there’s a good chance Saints fans will have a rooting interest in a few prospects on the cusp of going pro.

Here’s how you can tune in for the third and final day of this year’s NFL draft:

  • Time: Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m. CT
  • TV: ABC, ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN Deportes, NFL Network
  • Radio: ESPN Radio, Sirius XM NFL Radio, Westwood One
  • Streaming: fuboTV (try it for free), NFL.com, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Yahoo! Sports, Twitch Prime

Of course, Saints fans can also check out the highlight reels for Trautman and the team’s other third-round draft pick, Wisconsin linebacker Zack Baun, where we’ve linked them below. Whichever option you choose, it’s sure to be entertaining.

How to watch the Saints pick on Day Two of the 2020 NFL Draft

The New Orleans Saints only have one pick on the second day of the 2020 NFL Draft, but that could change. Here’s how to watch the broadcast.

[jwplayer NLoBP6t7-ThvAeFxT]

The New Orleans Saints surprised everyone in the 2020 NFL Draft by selecting Michigan center Cesar Ruiz in the first round, and now we’re closing in on the second day of selections.

Rounds two and three will kick off at 6 p.m. CT on Friday night, with the draft broadcast from ESPN, NFL Network, and ABC, just like the first round.

The Saints have just one selection — for now. Chatter has grown in volume from the media that the team is working quickly to find a trade partner so that they can either move up or add more picks. But until a deal is finalized, the Saints must wait to make their next pick until the tail end of the third round at No. 88 overall.

Two other teams have no picks at all on Friday night: the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Chargers. A handful of teams will make their first picks tonight, including the Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Houston Texans.

Conversely, the New England Patriots have more second-day picks than anyone, with five selections in rounds two and three. The Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, and Seattle Seahawks each own multiple picks. Watch out for the Saints to try to cut a deal with one of them.

How to tune in to the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine

The New Orleans Saints will be busy during the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine, which fans can tune into on NFL Network’s exclusive broadcast.

[jwplayer V5gaEuN7-ThvAeFxT]

The New Orleans Saints figure to have a low-key part to play in this year’s NFL Scouting Combine, with neither head coach Sean Payton nor general manager Mickey Loomis scheduled for press conferences. Sure, assistant general manager Jeff Ireland should be seen running around Lucas Oil Stadium — he and his team of college scouts have their work cut for them in evaluating the various athletic drills that will be broadcast in prime time.

But the Saints will do most of their work behind closed doors in a series of 45 interviews with draft prospects, each session timed at just 18 minutes in length. And that doesn’t even get into their quiet negotiations with agents representing Saints players whose contracts will soon expire. It’s going to be a busy week for all involved, even if we don’t hear from Payton and the Saints braintrust directly.

That said: fans are tuning in for the all-important athletic testing routines, like the 40-yard dash, the vertical jump, and the three-cone drill. Here’s your full schedule of when each position group will run through that gauntlet, and how you can keep up. This year’s combine will be covered exclusively on NFL Network:
