Jason Sudeikis did a ‘you can’t see me’ celebration during epic LSU-Iowa March Madness clash

Ted Lasso was loving what he saw in Albany.

Comedian Jason Sudeikis was in attendance for one of the best games of the year as the Ted Lasso star took in the Elite Eight matchup between the LSU and Iowa women’s basketball teams. Monday night’s highly anticipated game was a rematch of the 2023 National Championship game, which was won by Angel Reese and the Tigers.

Sudeikis is no stranger to supporting women’s hoops, with the Horrible Bosses actor frequenting games on both the pro and college level. Late in the fourth quarter, Sudeikis could be seen replicating the “you can’t see me” celebration made famous by wrestler John Cena and adopted by a lot of athletes, including Iowa’s incredible star Caitlin Clark.

The celebration was the same as the one Reese used to taunt Clark in last year’s loss, but the record-setting Hawkeye got revenge in 2024 with a 94-87 victory to make the Final Four.

Meet the cast of Top Chef Season 21 as it heads to Wisconsin

A Top Chef season in Wisconsin means that we’ll see a few challenges featuring cheese, right?

The newest season of Bravo’s Top Chef is nearly here, and it comes with a new host, some new wrinkles and rules, and of course, new contestants.

After Padma Lakshmi stepped away from her longtime role as host after Season 20, showrunners tapped former Top Chef winner Kristen Kish as her successor. Joining Kish are familiar faces, as Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons return as judges and executive producers.

Top Chef is heading to Wisconsin this season after spending its 20th in London and Paris with some of the show’s former all-stars. It’s the first time Top Chef has been set in a state – rather than a single city – since Kentucky, which got the spotlight in Season 16. Other states that have garnered the focus of Top Chef include Texas (Season 9), California (Season 13) and Colorado (Season 15).

According to Bravo’s website, quickfire and elimination challenges this season will be held in Madison and Milwaukee. The season premier is set for March 20.

There are 15 contestants this season. Let’s meet them:

  • Alisha Elenz – A private chef in Chicago, Illinois.
  • Amanda Turner – The chef de cuisine at Olamaie in Austin, Texas.
  • Charly Pierre – The head chef and owner at Fritai in New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Dan Jacobs – Chef and co-owner at EsterEv & Dandan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
  • Danny Garcia – Executive chef at Saga Hospitality Group in Brooklyn, New York.
  • David Murphy – Chef and co-owner at Shuggie’s Trash Pie + Natural Wine in San Francisco, California.
  • Kaleena Bliss – Executive chef at Chicago Athletic Association and Cindy’s Rooftop in Chicago, Illinois.
  • Kenny Nguyen – Head chef and owner at Pretty Boy, and executive chef at the Expat in Athens, Georgia.
  • Kevin D’Andrea – Chef and owner at Foliepop’s in Austin, Texas.
  • Laura Ozyilmaz – Executive chef and owner at Dalida in San Francisco, California.
  • Manny Barella – Culinary director at Camp Pickle & Jaguar Bolera in Denver, Colorado.
  • Michelle Wallace – Chef, owner, and pitmaster at B’tween Sandwich Co. in Houston, Texas.
  • Rasika Venkatesa – A chef de cuisine based in New York City.
  • Savannah Miller – Chef de cuisine at M Tempura in Durham, North Carolina.
  • Valentine Howell Jr. – An executive chef based in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

‘The Acolyte’ trailer gives Star Wars fans a glimpse at a fresh story in an unexplored era

A Wookie is here, but otherwise, “The Acolyte” looks like a brand-new kind of Star Wars story.

The newest Star Wars show will be landing soon on Disney+.

And it looks incredibly cool and unique.

On Tuesday, fans were treated with a trailer for The Acolyte, and it seems to be delivering what it has long promised: a fresh start for fans of the franchise, and an unfamiliar story that isn’t connected to the Skywalkers or the Empire or even Lando Calrissian.

The show is set in the High Republic era of Star Wars — about 100 years or so before the events of The Phantom Menace — so, we won’t be seeing or hearing anything about Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi or Han Solo. The series is being spearheaded by writer and director Leslye Headland, whose past work includes Russian Doll and the 2015 rom-com Sleeping With Other People.

Judging by the trailer though, this story won’t be filled with comedy.

Here it is:

Disney and Lucasfilm seem to be billing the show as a crime drama of sorts. In an email sent to fans on Tuesday with a link to the trailer, the plot of the series is described as:

“An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past. As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems…”

The series stars the likes of Amandla Stenberg (Across the Spider-Verse), Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (Top Gun: Maverick), Dafne Keen (Logan), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones), and Carrie-Anne Moss (The MatrixJessica Jones). Additionally, Joonas Suotamo — the former Penn State basketball player who took over the role of Chewbacca in The Last Jedi — seems to be back to play a Wookie.

The Acolyte is one of a few Star Wars shows expected to hit Disney+ this year. Season 3 of The Bad Batch debuted last month, and Skeleton Crew is supposed to land on the streaming service this year too.

Who was unmasked on the season 11 premiere of The Masked Singer?

This comedian and actor surprised everybody.

The new season of The Masked Singer premiered on Fox on Wednesday night, with five of the performers taking the stage. Hits by Olivia Rodrigo, Ne-Yo, Tina Turner, Madonna and Phillip Phillips were tackled by the disguised singers, with three more waiting in the wings to perform next week.

A singer known as “The Book” went last on Wednesday night, singing Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.” After the performance, the mystery star was telling host Nick Cannon and the judges — Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke and newcomer Rita Ora — how excited they were to be on the show when they stunned everyone.

The Book whipped off the costume unexpectedly, revealing the one and only Kevin Hart.

Pedro Pascal gave an endearing acceptance speech after being stunned to win his first SAG Award

The best speeches come when they don’t expect to win.

It’s fair to say not many people expected Pedro Pascal to take home the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Male Actor in a Drama Series, including Pascal himself. Succession had been the favorite, taking home multiple awards in the category already. Kieran Culkin won the Critics Choice Award, Emmy Award and Golden Globe for his portrayal of Roman Roy in the HBO drama’s final season.

So when Phil Dunster and Storm Reid called Pascal’s name for his work on HBO’s The Last of Us, the charismatic actor was clearly stunned.

Pascal started his speech with a quip about being a bit tipsy, not having planned on taking the stage at any point. “I’m a little drunk,” he said. “Uhhh, I thought I could get drunk.”

His joy at winning his first SAG was palpable, and he closed by saying, “I’m gonna have a panic attack and leave.” Perfect speech.

Eli Manning roasted Glen Powell’s QB skills ahead of their new college football series

Sir, please don’t insult the slightly confusing beach football scene.

A new comedy based on an Eli Manning character is coming to Hulu with the retired quarterback partnering with actor Glen Powell and showrunner Michael Waldron. The premise is to bring Manning’s “Chad Powers” persona to life in a half-hour episode series. Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) will co-create and co-write with Waldron, as well as star as the lead character.

“When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s (Powell) college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers,” the series description reads, according to a Variety story.

Manning used the announcement as a perfect opportunity to roast the leading man’s abilities after his famous beach scene in Maverick.

How real World War II hero Harry Crosby came to life in Masters of the Air

It was a group effort as Crosby’s children, actor Anthony Boyle and the showrunners worked to capture this real-life hero’s life on screen.

Steve Crosby found what he was looking for mere moments after stepping onto the set of Masters of the Air.

Scanning the reconstructed World War II barracks, Crosby’s eyes darted to a bedside table in the modified Officer’s Quarters, where a photo he’d seen every day of his childhood was perfectly repositioned.

“I bet that’s Dad’s bunk,” Crosby gestured. His father, Harry Crosby, had kept that photo of his wife, Jean, atop his nightstand his entire adult life. “I took a look in the little side table and there next to the fake bunk of my dad are fake letters from my mother.”

Lieutenant Harry Crosby flew as a navigator in World War II as part of the 100th Bomb Group. Nicknamed the “Bloody Hundredth,” the 100th Bomb Group is the subject of Apple TV+’s highly-acclaimed new limited series, Masters of the Air. Crosby, portrayed by the relatively new but immensely talented Anthony Boyle (Tetris), is the narrator of the series, taking the viewer on the emotional and treacherous journey that was aviation in the 1940s.

This project has been a long time coming. Rebecca Hutchinson, Harry Crosby’s daughter, was first approached in 2016 as Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg began the process of creating a high-flying sibling to HBO’s Band of Brothers (2001) and The Pacific (2010).

In 2017, Hutchinson met producer Kirk Saduski and writer and co-executive producer John Orloff at a 100th Bomb Group Foundation event.

“[Saduski and Orloff] had read our dad’s book and clearly were interested in it and were appreciative of the specific kinds of stories that he tells about his colleagues and his fellow soldiers,” Hutchinson said.

Crosby’s book, A Wing and a Prayer, was also heavily utilized by Boyle when preparing for his role.

“He’s so funny in it,” Boyle said of Harry. “It’s obviously about the hardships of war and his life, but he comes at everything with such self-deprecation and really light humor that you can’t help but fall in love with him on the page.”

Hutchinson called the collaboration “a wonderful experience.”

“We have provided photographs, we have provided audio, tapes of Dad’s voice, we have provided letters,” she added in an interview with For The Win.

According to his daughter, Crosby saved everything, and making copies was his absolute favorite thing to do: “He loved copy machines. In fact, it’s one of the last things he gave up at his assisted living facility when he was in his 90s.”

Hutchinson even heard from Saduski frequently throughout the filming process. He’d call to ask how they’d think their father would react to a situation or if they had any further information on a specific mission.

And although their father wasn’t particularly loquacious about his time in the war, there were some instances in which he would share his experiences.

“My dad always cut my hair when I was a kid,” Crosby shared. “I would go into my parents’ bathroom and sit on a stool … then Dad would tell the story of a mission. So all these missions — Regensburg, Bremen, Munster — I’ve heard these time after time.”

After all was said and done, all four Crosby children — Steve, April, Jeff and Rebecca — got to meet Boyle at the Los Angeles premiere of Masters of the Air. Boyle was nervous, to say the least, at the prospect of meeting the very real children of this character he had been playing.

“Suddenly you’re confronted with the fact that you’re playing a real person whose flesh and blood are about to meet you and judge you and see you and say, ‘Oh, that’s not my dad, my dad wouldn’t say that. My dad wouldn’t lift a cup like that, he always lifted his cups like this,'” Crosby said. “You go, ‘Oh God how is this going to go down.'”

But that nervousness quickly evaporated when they all met up after the showing.

“They seemed to dig it. They seemed to have enjoyed what I had done,” Boyle said of the premiere. “I felt like I was holding onto a breath … I got the sort of seal of approval from them. I don’t care if the critics say it was [expletive], I got his children’s approval. That meant a great deal to me.”

For Boyle, the emotion truly hit when he met Steve and recalled Crosby’s narration at the end of the series. “‘I’ve got a son. I’ve got a life to start,’ and I’m suddenly looking at the son, and he’s telling me about all the things he had done and achieved.”

Boyle shouldn’t have been nervous at all as the Crosby children were more than pleased with his portrayal of their father.

“We loved it,” Rebecca said enthusiastically. “We loved it, and we loved him.”

The first four episodes of Masters of the Air are streaming now on Apple TV+.
