10 way-too-early Michigan football 2023 bold predictions

Never too early to look ahead. #GoBlue

Michigan football saw its 2022 season meet an untimely end in a 51-45 loss to TCU, despite being favored. While a great deal of credit goes to the Horned Frogs, the biggest reasons the Wolverines didn’t advance were what Michigan did and didn’t do.

While the College Football Playoff is an inopportune place to learn some lessons, we think Michigan will have learned said lessons — as it had the year before in constructing this version of the team.

The offseason is two days in, but we’re already looking forward to 2023. Here are our 10 way-too-early bold predictions for a season that’s about as far away as it can be, given that it’s early January.

5 bold predictions for Alabama’s Sugar Bowl matchup against Kansas State

Five bold predictions for Alabama’s Sugar Bowl matchup against Kansas State.

Sadly enough Alabama’s 2022 football season will come to an end on Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Although the season has been a slight disappointment, [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Crimson Tide can right the ship and end the year on a high note with a victory over the Big 12 champs, the Kansas State Wildcats.

Alabama will be challenged on both sides of the ball by a Kansas State team that plays an old-school, physical style of football which was enough to beat the playoff-bound TCU Horned Frogs.

Alamo Bowl: Five bold predictions for Texas vs. Washington

Time to get BOLD.

No. 20 Texas is set for an Alamo Bowl matchup with No. 12 Washington on Thursday night.

The Longhorns are going to be without three key players as Bijan Robinson, Roschon Johnson and DeMarvion Overshown have opted out to prepare for the NFL Draft. Washington is at full strength with no players opting out; quarterback Michael Penix Jr announced he is returning for his senior year.

Washington enters the Alamo Bowl playing a high level of football down the stretch of the season. They are riding a six-game winning streak, scoring over 40 points per game over that span.

Texas currently sits as a slight favorite in the ballgame. The Horns are a three-point favorite over the Huskies. ESPN’s Football Power Index gives Texas a 75% chance to come out on top.

Here are five bold predictions for Texas’ showdown against Washington this Thursday. Expect a shootout between two of the top offensive attacks in college football.

There aren’t many national analysts who like the New Orleans Saints this week, but there’s no doubting whether the San Francisco 49ers are a tough matchup for them — and anyone else. Their offense has rallied around a midseason trade to acquire star running back Christian McCaffrey, and their stingy defense is led by a hot head coach candidate in DeMeco Ryans.

Five bold predictions for No. 18 Texas vs. No. 4 TCU

Can Texas play spoiler against TCU?

Texas hosts the undefeated TCU Horned Frogs for the biggest matchup of the college football weekend. The two Big 12 foes get together for a prime-time top-25 showdown in Austin.

The Longhorns look to knock TCU outside of the top four in the College Football Playoff rankings with a win on Saturday. Texas has an opportunity to beat a top-five team at home for the first time since 1999.

TCU enters as the comeback kings of college football. The Frogs are a nation’s best 4-0 when trailing in the second half of games this season. That is a bit problematic for a Texas team that struggles late in games under Steve Sarkisian.

Texas is a popular pick by many experts around the college football landscape. ESPN’s Football Power Index gives the Longhorns a 73% chance to beat the Horned Frogs. In addition, Vegas favors Texas by seven points despite being the lower-ranked team.

5 Bold predictions for Bears vs. Dolphins

From Chase Claypool’s impactful debut, to bottling up Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, here are our bold predictions for Bears vs. Dolphins.

The Chicago Bears are set to square off against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and will look a bit different than they did during their last game.

Gone is star linebacker Roquan Smith, who was traded to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday. Coming in, however, is wide receiver Chase Claypool, who was acquired in a separate deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers just ahead of the trade deadline.

The Bears are beefing up their offense, but have lost a bit on defense, which could make Sunday’s matchup with the Dolphins even more interesting. Miami boasts one of the better offenses in the league and the Bears will have a tough challenge ahead trying to contain players like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

On the other side of the ball, quarterback Justin Fields and the offense will look to continue their solid play as of late against a vulnerable Dolphins defense. With new weapons and changes across the entire team, we could be in for some interesting performances. Here are our bold predictions for Bears and Dolphins.
