Former Longhorn Quandre Diggs is making another play, this time a pick-six. This is Diggs’ second INT since being traded from Detroit.
Another week, another highlight play for Quandre Diggs. The Seattle Seahawks are in primetime again this weekend, this time playing the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. For most of the night, Rams’ quarterback Jared Goff has been having success against the Seahawk defense.
That changed when Diggs intercepted Goff in their first possession of the first half. Thrown across the middle, Diggs came out of nowhere, intercepted the ball, and ran 55 yards to the endzone untouched.
This is Diggs’ second interception for Seattle since being traded from Detroit. He has made an instant impact for the Seahawks, being a huge addition to the Seattle defense.
The top four teams are in the same order as the College Football Playoff, as LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, and Oklahoma are followed by Georgia and Oregon at No. 5 and No. 6.

The college football regular season is over and the moment everyone has been waiting for is finally here. Usually, Selection Sunday is full of drama and debate. This year, the four teams were known and the only thing to debate was in which order to put them in.
Clemson (13-0), LSU (13-0), Ohio State (13-0), and Oklahoma (12-1) were the only Power 5 teams to either be undefeated or have one loss. All four were conference champions, with all but Oklahoma having convincing victories on Saturday.
Oklahoma came in at No. 4, beating Baylor in overtime in the Big 12 Championship, 30-23. At No. 3, Clemson has won eight straight games by 30+ points, including a 62-17 win against Virginia in the ACC Championship.
The debate of the day was who the committee was going to put at No. 1. The ranking is significant as facing Oklahoma is seen as an easier task than Clemson in the semi-final matchup. Ohio State was put at No. 2, as they needed a comeback win against Wisconsin to win the Big 10 Championship, 34-21. LSU comes in at No. 1, destroying Georgia 37-10 in the SEC Championship.
Texas joins Texas A&M as the only other team in the country to play two playoff teams this season. Texas faced LSU and Oklahoma, while Texas A&M faced Clemson and LSU.
No. 1 LSU will face No. 4 Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl, while No. 2 Ohio State will face No. 3 Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl. Both games will take place on Saturday, Dec. 28 on ESPN.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins found former Alabama tight end on an out route near the line of scrimmage. Former Texas cornerback Quandre Diggs quickly sniffed it out and delivered a monster hit.
Smith only gained three yards on the play. Once Diggs hit him, he immediately went down. The hit was so big, you could hear the two players colliding.
Diggs is having a great season for Seattle after being traded from Detroit. In the three games, he has forced two turnovers, an interception and a fumble. His interception came in a win against the San Fransico 49ers. Against the Philadelphia Eagles, he forced and recovered a fumble.
Diggs and the Seahawks beat Minnesota last night, moving into first place in the NFC West. Their final four games will come against the Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, and San Fransico 49ers.

No one player, in particular, had a ridiculous amount of yards, as Jamaal Charles led the way with 62 yards. Romance Taylor, Henry Melton, Vince Young, and Selvin Young all had over 30 yards. Charles and Melton both had two touchdowns, while Vince and Selvin Young each had one.

In the air that day, Vince Young had his second-most efficient day of the year. In the regular-season matchup against Colorado, he completed 86% of this throws. In the Big 12 championship, he completed 82%, going 14-17. He added 193 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.
Colorado struggled all day, only having 191 total yards. The Buffaloes fumbled four different times, losing it three times. Quarterback Joel Klatt had an interception, making it four turnovers for Colorado. When they were not turning it over, they were punting. The Longhorn defense forced seven punts, not letting the Buffaloes get any offensive rhythm.

The 70-3 win is still the biggest win in the history of the Big 12 championship. Vince Young was named MVP of the game, having 250 total yards and four touchdowns. Texas improved to 13-0, setting themselves up for a matchup in the BCS Championship game against USC.
UNC defeated arch-rival NC St. gaining bowl eligibility in Mack Brown’s first season. He celebrated with the team in the locker room.
When Texas fired Mack Brown in 2013, he was just four years removed from winning the Big 12 and making a national championship appearance. In those four years, he never got back to double-digit wins, with his best record being 9-4. After being fired, Brown took some time to work in the media, working with ESPN as a studio analyst.
Five years after being let go from Texas, Brown was hired by the school where he started his Power 5 head coaching career, North Carolina. He inherited a mess, with the program losing nine games two years in a row. Brown had three 10 win seasons while at UNC, but they had only had one since he left in 1998.
The Tarheels defeated in-state arch-rival North Carolina State 41-10 on Saturday, gaining bowl eligibility in Brown’s first season as the head coach. He rightfully celebrated with the team in the locker room after the game.

If the Tar Heels and Longhorns were to meet in the Camping World Bowl, not only would there be a reunion with Mack Brown, but it would be the first time the schools have met since 2002. Brown has turned the UNC football program around and has a chance to become a consistently good team in the ACC.

Having 17 other offers, Kansas State was the only other Big 12 school to offer Fillinger. Most of his offers have come from the west coast, with Pac 12 schools like Oregon, USC, Utah, UCLA, and Washington interested. Crystal Ball now gives Utah a 62% chance to sign Fillinger.

The Longhorns now only have one other 2020 commit from the defensive line. Vernon Boughton is a 4* defensive tackle from Houston, TX, but Texas now does not have a defensive end commit in this upcoming recruiting cycle.
Former Texas wide receiver Jordan Pouncey has announced he will be playing football Florida next season. Pouncey had two career catches.
Former Texas wide receiver Jordan Pouncey and his younger brother Ethan Pouncey have announced they will be playing football at the University of Florida next season. Ethan tweeted out a YouTube video where they said playing together “feels like their dreams have been manifested.”
Jordan is a 6’2, 205-pound wide receiver that committed to playing for the Longhorns in February 2017. He announced he would be leaving Texas in October 2019 so he could get more playing time.
Ethan is a 2020 4* corner that had offers from 21 different schools, including Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, and Texas. His commitment to Florida moved them into the top 10 in the 247 2020 rankings.
Jordan Pouncey had a career two catches for Texas, with both coming this season. One was for against Louisiana Tech for 11 yards, the other against Rice for eight yards.
There were earlier reports that Beck would have the opportunity to keep his role as offensive coordinator until Texas’ bowl game and possibly keep it after that. Instead, Head Coach Tom Herman decided to make the move now, reassigning Beck to a non-offensive coordinator role on the team.
Sources tell me Texas football coach Tom Herman has relieved OC Tim Beck and WR coach Drew Mehringer of their duties, while Co-WR coach Corby Meekins has been reassigned. Beck will have a non-OC role. Mehringer is fired. Meekins will have an off-the-field position.
While the offense was not the issue that caused Texas to go 7-5 this year, it struggled in the second half of the season. After only throwing two interceptions in his first six games, quarterback Sam Ehlinger threw seven interceptions in the second half of the season. Texas ranked sixth in the Big 12 in rushing this year, relying on Ehlinger in most games.
Excluding the Texas Tech game, the Longhorns only averaged 17 points per game down the stretch. Going 1-3 in those games, when Texas’ offense did not play well, they struggled to win games.
Beck has been on the coaching staff since Herman took the head coach role in 2017. LSU’s Joe Brady and USC’s Graham Harrell are seen as the favorites to take over the position.

The Longhorn defense has struggled this year, allowing 29 points per game. Allowing 21+ points in every single Big 12 and against LSU, the defense allowed 30 or more points in six different games.
Ranking second to last in the Big 12, Texas allowed 306 passing yards a game. The rush defense ranked well in the Big 12, only allowing 140 yards per game, but Big 12 offenses exploded in the air against the Longhorns.

Orlando had been the defensive coordinator for Texas since Tom Herman’s first season in charge. They have regressed every single year, allowing more and more points.
Even though Texas only returned three starters on defense, a lot more was expected from the unit. An injury-riddled season also contributed to the poor season, but it was not enough to save Orlando’s job.
Craig Naivar is expected to take over for the bowl game. Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods.com is reporting that former Rutgers head coach Chris Ash is the top candidate to take over the position in the future.
