49ers open as heavy favorite to win NFC championship

The 49ers open as big favorites over the Lions:

The 49ers will host the Lions in the NFC championship game at Levi’s Stadium. While Detroit played better than the 49ers did in the divisional round, San Francisco is still a 7-point favorite over the Lions according to BetMGM.

While it’s a little surprising to see such a big number on the 49ers to open, there’s certainly a path to a big win for a San Francisco team that’s in its third NFC championship game in as many years.

It would make sense if the number started trending toward Detroit given what they can do in the run game and how they might be able to keep the game tight the same way the Packers did.

Injuries could also play a key role in how the line moves. 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is banged up, as is Lions center Frank Ragnow. Both players are huge pieces to their offenses and in a game that should be closely contested, those injuries could make a huge difference.

The Tigers host the Aggies in a rematch on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers are looking for their first ranked win of the season on Wednesday night.

A disappointing double-digit loss on the road to Auburn on Saturday interrupted what was a 2-0 start to SEC play for the LSU men’s basketball team, but it will be back in action for another chance to earn another impressive conference win on Wednesday night.

No. 22 Ole Miss comes to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, and the Rebels are off to a hot start under first-year coach Chris Beard. They’re 15-1 on the year with the only loss coming on the road against a very strong Tennessee team.

Betting line for Steelers vs Bills holds after postponement

The Steelers remain 10-point underdogs this week.

On Saturday it was announced that the Wild Card playoff game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills was being postponed until Monday afternoon due to a massive snowstorm coming into the Orchard Park area and cited safety as the primary reason for the move.

Monday’s weather isn’t going to be a drastic improvement over Sunday but if it creates a safer environment for all involved, it had to be done. But did the postponement do anything for the oddsmakers?

The short answer is no. Even hours after the announcement, the line for this week’s game according to BetMGM still had the Steelers as massive 10-point underdogs to the Bills.

Meanwhile the over/under for total points is currently 37. This number seems incredibly generous given the weather and potential field conditions. I would definitely take the under in this one and it is hard to see the Bills pulling away and winning by over 10 so I would take the points as well.
